I texted Danny, the leader of these renegades, who basically told me that if they couldn't do the job a day earlier, then they would not be doing the job at all. I tried to reason with him, but he simply stopped responding to my texts. Why couldn't he have just been honest with us in the first place and told us that they had given our scheduled time slot to someone else and needed to reschedule instead of trying to saddle us with the lie that they happened to be in the neighborhood and working two houses down from us, which wasn't true? He was very quick to respond to my inquiries, needs and pricing after I sent (upon his request) photographs of the nine trees that needed attention. We agreed upon a very reasonable price, then set up a date and time for him and his crew to perform the work. My wife was home so she met the two gentleman that work with Reynaldo. Artificial turf, plants, and decorative rock to replace mulch and shrubs. I sought out quotes from 5 different landscapers, and Carlos was by far the best price. The other 4 quotes were a bit ridiculous, in my opinion, especially considering none of them included plants and installation. The others said I would need to supply all plants (including a tree) and I would be charged extra for each installation. Carlos made it clear his price would include delivery of plants from the nursery and installation. When it came to the decorative rock, I ended up with a type of rock that was different than what was discussed at the time of the estimate. This was because Carlos saw a different type he felt I'd like. I took a trip to the rock supply store with him and sure enough the rock was much better than what I first had in mind. This project took about 2 weeks. The crew was very nice, worked efficiently, and always cleaned up at the end of the day. Now that it's complete, I can't stop admiring it.
