The restaurant is small, with limited seating, but brightly decorated and immersive on the surf decor. I ordered the fish n chips, and they let me know it would be about 12 minutes, because they make everything fresh. No problema, dude. Beach Boys, surf music and other mellow tunes play overhead while you wait. It wasn't long at all, and I was presented with three (3!!!) crisply battered fish filets on a mound of seasoned shoestring fries. It was hot (prepared to order, remember), and delicious. The fries were awesome as well. I thought it was a little pricey, but the portions were large and I had plenty to take away. My fish was delish -- and I'd be glad to come back and try some of the other combos. The people who worked here were chill and friendly. Good vibrations!

This is a cute little restaurant with a few tables, window seats and seating along the wall. With the weather being nice there are tables outside too. Hubby and I wanted some seafood and we passed by Surf's Up a few times so it's long overdue for us to stop and try the food today. The owner, Lisa, was working behind the counter. She is so sweet and certainly very proud of her restaurant! We asked her for recommendations and she was happy to share some of the top preferred items of guests. She gave us time to look over the menu. I settled on the fried catfish dinner with a side of grits, greens & a roll. Hubby wanted fish and chips with a roll. Lisa told us that everything is made fresh to order so it would be about 15-20 mins. We weren't in any hurry, but we appreciated the heads up and the fact that it was all freshly made. The food arrived crispy and hot and oh so delicious! My catfish was so flakey. The grits and greens were the perfect sides to go with it. Hubs really enjoyed his fish and chips. The fries were so good, we couldn't stop eating them. Lisa also sold us on the fresh bread pudding, but we so full so we had to take it go. Just finished it tonight and it was even more delicious than she described! We will certainly be returning to try the shrimp po' boy and other items on her menu! Plus more bread pudding. Don't pass up this cute little place with delicious fresh seafood and desserts plus friendly service.

So, I stopped in during the week, just after lunch time and found this little hole-in-the wall of a restaurant conveniently nestled in a shopping center next to the local Walmart. Even though I walked in and the restaurant was completely empty, the pure vibrancy of the decor and the cheerfulness of the staff encouraged me to stay. Not to mention that the aroma making its way out from the kitchen was absolutely mouth-watering. I took a seat at the bar while I perused the menu and was delighted in the simplicity of it. You know the food is about to be fire when the menu is simple and a restaurant focuses on what it does well. In addition to the excellent service, the food was absolutely phenomenal. I started off with some chips and salsa.... which was delightfully flavorful and perfectly crisp. Then, I had a bowl of the tortilla soup. Each spoonful was like deja vu. Each bite made me feel like I was in my grandmother's kitchen as a little girl all over again. The broth was perfectly seasoned and each bite came with a chunk of chicken and an assortment of veggies... truly perfecto! Once I was done with the appetizers, I made my decision to try two tacos from the menu. The first was a salmon taco--and it didn't TASTE FISHY. It was grilled to perfection and then paired with an unexpected yet delicious topping of crispy potato strings and chipotle aioli. I ate every bite of this. It was the perfect combination of crunch and flavor, I just couldn't get enough. Then I also ordered the carne asada a cabron taco. Simple, yet dynamically flavorful. I was so full at this point but took this one home to eat at a later time. Still as amazing as the day I ordered it i'm sure. While I neglected to have any desserts or margaritas here, I was assured that they are just as remarkable as anything else. I had a wonderful meal, excellent service and I greatly look forward to going back if i'm ever in the area again for work. 10/10 Highly recommend!!

Nothing really stood out about the items we ordered, and maybe it was just what we ordered. The prices were a little on the higher side. We'll need to come back and order a seafood dish. Super super cozy, dimly lit, formal and old fashioned. It even smells amazing, like fresh herbs. I loved looking around at all the decorations, the artwork and the crab-themed decor were special. I don't go to haute restaurants, like, ever but I didn't feel out of place for a second thanks to the amazing service. Our waitress was very personable, she sang us happy birthday and we had some fun brief conversations. Even the diners at surrounding tables were friendly and lively. I got a few "happy birthday"s from kind strangers. There are no words that could describe how amazing my cobb salad was... I thought I might cry while I was eating it. The fish was fresh and tender, the dressing was sweet and zesty and creamy. It was just perfect!!!! If I ever find myself on death row this would be my first pick for my last meal. The desserts were phenomenal too. No notes. This experience was worth every penny and I had a great time

Alrighty then! Hub-hub and I were looking for a place for our 7th anniversary (not of marriage, but…read moreof when we first met). We chose Bonefish Grill! So, on a warm and humid evening, off we went. We were greeted warmly and seated in a booth quickly. The ambience was similar to a steakhouse- but tastefully done and not over the top. Our waiter- who appeared and acted just as though he'd aced his final waiter-exam at Bonefish- brought over a specials menu, a happy hour menu for drinks, and a regular, one-page menu. All on paper; easy to handle and clean (always a plus). I quickly ordered 3-mini-tinis (presented very fashionably - see the pic), and he brought out a mini-bread loaf with olive oil and - what appeared to be basil- dip. The only demerit here: this loaf wasn't warm and had sat around a bit. Man. I loves me bread, but it's gotta be warm. No worries - when we finished he brought out a 2nd mini-loaf - which WAS warm. Oh yay. The mini-tinis were nice- though I think the one with the floating jalapeno was - while inventive- a bit too spicy. Still, it hit the spot. Hubby ordered the shrimp and scallop scampi, while I ordered Walleye (man, I love this midwestern fish - so nice and flaky!). It came with jasmine rice and broccoli- and frankly it was awesome. Hubby also liked the scampi as well- not bad indeed! A couple quick notes- not sure I liked the uniforms for the wait staff. Just seemed too much like a hospital with a look like white smocks. Hmm. But gosh, Bonefish- is it too much to ask that you use the portable terminals so I can pay at the table without letting my credit card out of my sight? Strange, isn't it? The US invents the tech, then we never deploy it until the rest of the world uses it first (which they do, btw). Will we come again? Yes! The prices are reasonable, the portions and ample, and the ambience is just fine. But gosh- let's get the bread right by bringing out soft, warm loaves, please. That's my first impression of the meal - and it was - sorry to say - lacking a bit.

I made a 5:30 p.m. Friday reservation, which was easy enough, and when we arrived the restaurant was about 75% full. The hostess greeted us but never asked for our reservation, though we were seated right away. John was our server, and he was great--attentive, friendly, and always on top of refills. Warm bread with olive oil and water arrived promptly, and he gave us time to look over the menu. We ordered a Fresh Margarita, a Dirty Martini, and the crispy cauliflower. The cauliflower was delicious, but the Margarita tasted pre‑made rather than freshly mixed. For dinner, we chose the Fish & Chips and the Scallops & Shrimp Scampi Pasta. Unfortunately, both dishes fell short. The most common causes they lose their crispiness falls into three categories: too much moisture, incorrect oil temperature, and overcrowding. The breading on the fish and the fries were not crispy at all--see photo below. I ate the first piece, but ended up removing the coating from the second and took the third home. The pasta needed much more of the white wine garlic lemon sauce; it just wasn't as flavorful as expected. We finished with the Bourbon Brownie--the only chocolate dessert on the menu--and that did deliver. Rich, warm, and satisfying. Despite the food misses, John truly elevated the experience. He checked in often, kept our water glasses full, and made sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant had great energy, and the décor was tastefully done. Servers were dressed in white button‑down jackets and black slacks, adding a nice touch of professionalism. By the time we got up to leave, the place was absolutely hopping. Great service, great appetizer and dessert--but the entrées didn't meet expectations.

The gyuru lagman itself was delicious, with great flavor and perfectly prepared noodles. The only thing that could be improved was the meat. Overall, it's a lovely place with great hospitality and authentic, delicious food. I'll definitely be back to try more dishes!
