I've eaten at Chuck Wagon many times in the past at 3 different locations. I walked into the location in Kendall today & the lady at the door said to sit anywhere so we sat. We sat there for 10 mins & no one came to the table even after I waived at 3 waitresses standing by the cash register talking amongst themselves. After I waived & made eye contact they still didn't come. I gave them a few more minutes & left. The service has gone down hill! read more

Great old-fashioned American country breakfast! Not too many of these ranch style joints around anymore , so I do appreciate this place. Have a nice breakfast and lunch selection, they close at 3:00. Choices for breakfast include corn beef hash omelettes, chili and cheese omelettes, eggs Benedict, homemade biscuits, and veggie omelettes. Pancakes come in pecan, blueberry, strawberry, chocolate chip and apple cinnamon. Never has waffles but variety of flavors there too. Great hospitality and service! WOW, I feel so bad living in the area my whole life and not knowing about this establishment. This restaurant has been here for years from what I've heard. Food is delicious and staff is very knowledgeable and kind. The shakes are delicious and they're served inside a cowboy boot, how neat is that? The theme of this place is very old school and rustic with a country feel to it. I don't think they've made a single change in the place since they opened, even the receipt is given to you handwritten by the server. I have been to Chuck Wagon maybe 3 or 4 times over the years but cannot say that it has ever left me wanting more. It is conveniently located pretty close to my house but I have never enjoyed it enough to become a repeat customer. A few weeks ago my boyfriend suggested we switch up our usual IHOP breakfast routine and go to Chuck Wagon instead. Since I hadn't been there in a few years, I agreed and we gave it a try but all it really did was remind me of why I never think of going there when I'm in the mood for breakfast. First of all the hostess was either having a bad day or really hates her job. It was relatively early for a weekend so it wasn't crowded but that is no excuse for being greeted with such indifference. As we walked through the door, the hostess said in a very bored tone that we should "sit wherever you want." She didn't so much as look in our direction as she said this and I just found it to be highly unprofessional. Once we found a comfortable seat, our waitress attended to us right away and the service was decent enough throughout breakfast but I just can't seem to get into their food. Admittedly I am not a big fan of "western-themed restaurants" or Southern cuisine but I do love Cracker Barrell and Chuck Wagon is supposed to be somewhat along those lines though they fail to match Cracker Barrell's genuinely good food standard. The home fries at Chuck Wagon are not very good at all and for me this really takes away from the breakfast experience. The sausage links were good as was the biscuit and sausage gravy but the eggs were just okay. The food is cheap, which is great if you feel the cheapness only in your wallet but not so good when you can literally taste the cheapness on your plate from lack of flavor. While I am sure there are worse places to have breakfast in Miami, I would rather cook my own or put up with the crappy IHOP service than come back to Chuck Wagon again. read more

Forget about that home country affordable cooking chuckwagon is not the same chuckwagon of 15 or 20 years ago I spent $20 this morning to have a ham and cheese omelette that was made for a four-year-old kid the side order of sausage patties we're almost invisible at almost 3 dollars or two little links probably the size of a half dollar coin I left sooo hungry. If I had to choose between this one and the one on 137 avenue I would choose this one over any other location. The place is authentic and the employees have been here since I was born 23 years ago.. Also, the atmosphere is very quite and it's cozy and the place maybe outdated but I think that's what makes the place who it is. I've lived in Kendall and never tried this place out. I'm terrible. I came in for breakfast to go and was greeted with such friendliness, I was in shock. I mean, let's be real. We're in Miami. I ordered Chocolate Pancakes, and an order of 2 Eggs with Bacon and Biscuit. They're not kiddin' when it comes to the Chocolate Pancakes. I'm as much of a chocolate lover as the next person but these people go chocolate overload! But please, don't change that! My boyfriend was happy with his order and we both liked the biscuits. Chuck Wagon is definitely a local's place. It has been around since I could remember and I have eaten there at least 20 times. Every time I've eaten at Chuck Wagon it has always been on the weekend. Parking is terrible and extremely hard to get since the restaurant shares a parking lot with a few other businesses. One time I had to park at Cici's next door. The decor is western and is probably original. There is nothing wrong with it and it gives it character, but they need to update the booths. They are a little too worn in and not very comfortable. Service at this restaurant is typically pretty quick. We ate there this past weekend and our food literally came out within 5 minutes of ordering. It was tasty, and the food flavor is always consistent. Our server was super sweet. She was well groomed and delivered our food accurately. I would probably rate this restaurant a 3 1/2 but I'm rounding it up to a 4 instead of rounding it down. If you live in the neighborhood I would recommend giving it a shot, but if you are coming down to Kendall just for Chuck Wagon I wouldn't recommend making the drive. read more

Chuck Wagon is hit or miss, honestly. The food is cooked to order but be wary, if you have one meal that takes longer to cook then the others, you will get mixed results. As a result of this, my sons egg and sausgae sandwich came out cold and we sent it back. The bacon, was absolutely delicious and the coffee was hot. However, our waitress seemed a bit busy and didnt really come around as often as need. So there was an unnecessary wait for refills. Minor issues in the grand scheme of things. read more

I have been coming here for years, because it is one of the BEST breakfast places. I haven't had any other meal here, but they have an extensive menu. This is an old-style, 70s type place. The decor is never updated, it's very laid-back, and it's really, really no-frills - very countryish. I wouldn't exactly call the food "healthy fare", it's more of a pork chop and mashed potato kinda place! That being said; the servers are excellent, the place is super-clean, and it's just an all-around friendly place to eat. The cook always does the eggs to perfection, and the big breakfasts come with potatoes, grits, fries, or whatever you want. The prices are very reasonable, almost cheap! Coffee is exemplary. Chuck wagon is hidden an a small shopping center off 117th ave. They have an all America breakfast. The omelette is fluffy with the right amount if cheese. Bacon is fried to a crispy perfection. Now the real reason why I go to this place is the waffles. The waffles are fluffy and yet crispy. The French toast are pretty good as well covered with powdered sugar. The place has a very country authentic feel to it (as close as country you can't in Miami lol). Sundays using has a long wait but it's worth it. read more

I love Chucky's (as I lovingly call it)! Been coming here on and off for about 2 years. The food is always good and fresh. The coffee is always hot and the service is always friendly. Be prepared to wait in line during peak breakfast offers, especially on the weekends. Keep an eye out for their specials too. My most recent trip, my sis and I ordered the Spinach and Feta omelet with a grits and biscuits, a fruit bowl and a waffle. I later dumped some of the fruit over the waffle and that was pretty yummy although i HIGHLY recommend the chocolate chip waffle with whipped cream...Yum! Coming here has become one of my favorite weekend traditions. Chuck Wagon is a little escape from the crazy Miami lifestyle. It is a great place for all the family, and very kid friendly. All the staff is so sweet and polite! We absolutely love James. He's extremely attentive and always makes sure we have a good time. The food here is delicious, we'll-portioned, and very affordable. What happened to this place?! Haven't been here in years and I remember it being so good. Not anymore. I ordered a waffle grand slam and it was bad. Eggs were under cooked and slimy. Waffle tasted like a frozen eggo waffle, it was all air and a small size. For $11 this was by no means a good value. Best part was the lady at register asked how our meal was and we told her it was not good and she just continued to charge us as if nothing. She did not apologize or even acknowledge what we were saying so not sure why she even bothered asking. I must mention the decor and dirty carpeting which have not been changed or updated in 30+ years. There is a fine line between a hole in the wall dive restaurant and a dumpy dirty place and this place crossed that line years ago. It is not even sanitary to have carpet in a restaurant! Between the bad food, dirty restaurant, and spotty service there is no reason to ever come back! read more

I used to come to breakfast here all the time. The gravy is delicious. The food is really good. However, customer service is so important. I saw with my own eyes money fall out of a mans back pocket. It was one bill and it was right next to the mans chair. The waitress immediately went and picked it up and walked away. My boyfriend told the guy that his money fell out and the waitress went by and grabbed it. As my boyfriend was finishing his sentence the waitress ran back to give the guy the money.
