I brought my son here for the first time today. We had previously been going to a different barber, and after a few not so great haircuts, decided it was time to switch it up. I wish I had made the switch wayyyy sooner! Miss Veronica was so sweet, and very skilled. She was really attentive and understanding of how I wanted his hair to look, which was great because I'm terrible at explaining anything to do with boy's haircuts. The shop is small, but cozy, and had a family vibe. It definitely seems like everyone who goes there knows what's up. Pricing was great, $20 for a youth haircut. Chuck Simon's Barber Shop (and Miss Veronica) is a gem and I will absolutely be coming back when he needs his hair cut again! read more

Chuck Simon's Barber Shop - Showing off his fresh cut at HMart. - Barbers Near Me - Decatur, Georgia

Usually cut my own hair but when I want it done professionally, this has been the spot since I moved into the area back in 2007. I had Veronica last time and it was a great experience! read more

When you discover an exceptional barber, the evidence becomes unmistakable-- and it's no wonder this establishment boasts incredible reviews. Having visited various barbers across Atlanta over the past decade, I've encountered instances where some barbers were rough with my son, cutting his neck, or nicking his ears, and even drawing blood. In one extreme case, I had a barber multitask by talking on his phone while wielding scissors with one hand. Seriously... However, at Chuck Simon's Barber Shop, such concerns do not exist here. Today, I visited for a haircut with Tom for my son, and the experience was nothing short of fantastic. Tom's professionalism, friendliness, and evident expertise stood out. As a second-generation barber, his skill set truly shines and it is clear he knows what he is doing. It's evident why this establishment has garnered a loyal clientele spanning 50 years. Thank you, Tom, for the excellent service! [Review #699] (23rd Review of 2023) read more

Tired of paying 45.00 for a hair cut so decided to search this barber shop out! Noticed an excellent review from a friend of mine so decided to book an appointment! With Tom! Excellent haircut and very detailed with his work! Plan on returning! read more

I've been meaning to move to a barber for a long time now, I've been a long time Great Clips patron mostly out of habit and cost. Now that I am in my 30s, my wife and friends encouraged me to transition to a barber. My biggest hesitance was cost, but CS is very reasonable! Chuck Simon's has so many great reviews and since it's so close to me, I thought I'd give it a shot. I first tried one barber, but we didn't quite click. And then tried Tom and he was excellent. Very amicable, quick and efficient. He gives a great fade and I recently am trying a new hairstyle which he is helping with. The straight razor cleanup is nice and I love the ability to schedule ahead of time on their website. Parking is ok, more around the side, it's also right next to a dance studio of some sort. Chill vibe, will continue to come see Tom for the foreseeable future, thanks Tom! read more

5 stars for an outstanding barber shop. When it comes to barber shops, it seems like prices keep going up (even at chains) while quality keeps going down. I luckily found a gem of a spot while I was up in DC, but I was scared that my gem would be lost once I moved back to Atlanta. Fortunately, I went to Yelp to look for a barber and found a Chuck Simon's shop located right in my neighborhood on North Druid Hills Road! I've seen other barbers with good reviews not deliver, but I was willing to give him a spot. I looked to book online about half an hour before the place closed, but saw nothing was available. I decided to call the shop to see if they could squeeze me in. After a brief automated part of the call, Chuck himself picks up and tells me that they can fit me in. I head over and arrive to find only 2 people in the shop. One was Alexander (the gentleman Chuck mentioned on the phone who could fit me in) and one of the other barbers named Dorothy. They greeted me as if I were part of the family and sat me down to get started. I found a pretty interesting dichotomy as I was getting my haircut. Alexander is a Russian (I believe) fellow who will talk to you as much or as little as you want. I'm usually a big fan of not talking much with my barber, but Dorothy came over to say hello and was just an absolute delight for conversation. As Alexander was doing excellent work on my hair, Dorothy chatted with me about the area and various other things before Chuck walked in the door to help clean up for the day. Despite being the owner, he was a really down to Earth guy who also made me feel like part of the family. The pleasant time plus the great price for a haircut (only $18 and I could use my card aka something my previous barber strongly encouraged against) made for a great haircut experience. Overall, Chuck Simon's Barber Shop provided me with a great haircut for a fair price. That along with the pleasant conversation makes this my go-to barber in the area. read more

Chuck's is a great local spot to get a good value cut. The staff is friendly and attentive. They have a healthy dose of lifelong 'Chuckers' who may have never had a cut anywhere else! Jokes aside, I recommend Chuck's to families with kids or adults who know what they like and want that style executed consistently! read more

Marina always gives a great cut. She cut my hair for my wedding and has been cutting it ever since. Everyone else in the shop is super nice and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. I can see why everyone has been coming here for years read more

I LOVE YOU CHUCK SIMON'S. I strolled in here to get a fade for less than $50 (which is unheard of in midtown, Atlanta) and hoped for the best. I was greeted with an adorable, friendly environment with an amazing staff. Marina gave me an incredible, timely, affordable fade (which I forgot to take a picture of, but it was great). I can wholeheartedly recommend this place, and I'll be a regular customer. Thanks Marina! read more

Hard to find this sort of service excellence. I have been going to this shop for over 15 years and highly recommend!

Just had my haircut by Danielle! What a great haircut, super pleased. This is an old school barbershop with pictures of clients who have been getting their haircuts for as much as 35 years here. Great atmosphere, really nice people! New go to when I am working in Atlanta:) read more

Moving to a new city is always rough especially when it comes to finding a new barber you like. I just had my haircut with Tom and I absolutely love how it turned out. Among the sea of places to get a haircut in Atlanta, Chuck Simon's is among the best! They have convenient online booking, are super friendly, and most importantly of all they do a good job with your hair. Whereas some barbers might get annoyed when you nitpick certain details to get your best cut, the barbers here are more than happy to work with you until you are satisfied. When I walked in I was greeted very kindly by all of the staff, and they did their best to make me feel right at home. Chuck himself is an active owner of this shop, and he is an expert at his craft. I have left very few reviews on anything EVER, but the overall experience and the quality work performed at Chuck Simon's have sold me. This will be my go-to for cuts, and I would recommend it to anybody! read more

Marina cut my hair the way I asked...only better. I'll be back! Chuck was barbering and chatting away. He seems to know all of the shop's customers. He'll know your name, too, when you come. It's a warm, friendly place. read more

In order for me to write a review about a place, it either has to be beyond terrible or awesome! Needless to say Chuck and the crew are awesome! Been going here since moving to Atlanta in 2014. Great shop. Chuck has good personnel working for him. All are great at their craft. I typically stick to reviewing BBQ, but man, this place. This place keeps winning with their cuts and the convo. Thank you (spasibo in Russian for Alex). You guys are doing it Bigly. This is why the wait is long on Saturday AM. Keep at it. 5 stars. Price is $16 as of Sep 2017. I budget $20 a month, so a $4 dollar tip! read more

Chuck Simon's Barber Shop - Barbers Near Me - Decatur, Georgia

I've been here before by myself, and had a wonderful haircut, no issues at all. So I decided to give it another try and bring my son along with me. My older son tagged along, but he wasn't going to get a haircut. The owner himself, Chuck, was nice enough when I first came in, telling me we would get taken care of as soon as they finished with the folks him and another barber were working on, plus one more waiting ahead of me. An older gentleman walked in in the interim and quietly sat down. Imagine when my turn is up, and Chuck heads toward the other man while saying to me that the other barber will take care of me, as he will work on this gentleman. The one who came in 45 minutes after me. Is my time not as valuable? I'd waited about an hour vs. this man's 15 minute wait. Chuck then proceeds to block my exit saying this other man is on some kind of list. Did he have some kind of appointment I wondered? It would have been nice to know when he walked in so I could adjust my decision-making process accordingly. My dad was a barber for 55 years before he passed away, so I'm not ignorant of how it all works. But this is no way to do business. I was made to feel small and unimportant simply because it looks like a business owner decided in favor of a regular over a potential pair of new customers, my son and I, without ever trying to explain himself until it was way too late. That's no way to run a business. 08/02/17: What a difference it makes when the owner is willing to reach out and offer you a new experience. That's what Chuck did when he read my Yelp review, writing to me to apologize even before Yelp published it. He explained his side of the story, acknowledging that, on weekends, he does work off a call-in list, if not actual appointments. He admitted that this is unclear to a new customer like myself, and he would post something to change that. He offered to come in before the shop opens and personally cut both my and my son's hair at no charge. I took him up on the offer, except I paid him anyway. Great cuts, great conversation, he may have made a new regular out of me. Thanks, Chuck, for going the extra mile to get things right! read more

My husband looks like a movie star after his visit to Chuck Simon's barber shop. Chuck and his gang also made me feel right at home well I was waiting for him. This is a barbershop of yesteryear and has a large and loyal clientele. Chuck takes his time and cuts hair skillfully and properly, to your exact specifications. Also, a sweeter, kinder guy, you will never meet! read more

Marina is my barber here. She is fast and always gets it right. Great barber in an excellent barbershop.

Solid haircut for $15 (not including tip). It's much better than SuperCuts, however if you're looking for a trendy barbershop that will serve you drinks and let you watch SportsCenter while you get your scalp massaged - this is definitely not your place. If you're okay with a fairly old-school environment and not afraid to have small talk with your barber - and any of the (older) customers in the 'waiting room' - I would definitely give this place a try. read more

Chuck Simon's Barber Shop - Barbers Near Me - Decatur, Georgia

It was time for the hubster to remove about 5 pounds of hair. This is the second time he's been to Chuck's. Chuck's is a cute little no frills neighborhood barber shop right by our apartment. You know his customers have been coming for years when you hear them ask for "The Usual." We walked in around 10AM and there was no wait. The inside had around 5-6 stations. His barber was Alex Z. He did an awesome job cutting hubster's curly locks. 10/10 would make hubster go back again. read more

I was very impressed by the attentiveness of Chuck (who I chatted with about the Falcons game) and Alex (who did the actual haircut). I don't have a super complex haircut but my hair is pretty wavy and Alex did a great job of managing that while trimming everything to my satisfaction. $15 was a fair price to pay; I will be coming back again. read more

Great barber shop. No-frills, but you get exactly what you need. The prices are very reasonable and even though they have to raise prices slightly in 2015 the owner is kind enough to post a sign saying that the folks have challenged budgets he's willing to try to accommodate them. I think if you can get a great haircut for under $20 in Atlanta in 2015, you're pretty lucky. Great service, quick turn-around with little waiting, and they're open on Sunday too? See you again soon, Chuck. read more

I discovered Chuck's through the weekly email Yelp sends out and decided to give it a try based on the stellar reviews. I ended up getting the best haircut I've had in 10 to 12 years at the most affordable price ever, $16. I've been twice now and both times I've walked in on a Friday afternoon and hopped into Alex's chair without a wait. Fantastic. My previous place had a clubby atmosphere with about 10 barbers and you needed to make a reservation two or three days out just to get in. That's not this place. There's not a hipster bone in this joint but man do they know how to cut hair. You've got to check it out. read more

I have a penchant for old style Barber shops, and when I found Chuck's place on North Druid Hills 10+ years ago, I knew my hair had found a home. Chuck takes his time to learn what your likes and dislikes are, and he carefully crafts a precision cut for you every time, just like professionals at an old time Barber Shop used to do (you never feel rushed). Also, Chuck still ends the cut with a hot lather shave on my neck, which is a great feeling and great ending to a cut. For a wonderful traditional cut and always great conversation and atmosphere, Chuck's can't be beaten. I live in Roswell and pass hundreds of places to get my hair cut in Decatur. 'Nuff said. Chuck and his team are great. My hair's home is in Decatur. read more

I think I finally found my barber shop after trying a couple barber shops and hair salons in the area. I saw a few god reviews on another site and decided give Chuck a try. First: I'm very happy with my haircut and second: I liked the the relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I thought about taking off a star for the interior of the shop but then again that's not how I choose a place to get my haircut and he has some signs up saying he is working on it :-) read more

My first time in, I called ahead to see how long the wait was. When I got there it ended up being longer than expected. The owner was so nice and remembered that I called ahead. he offered to give me a haircut for free because of my wait. I didn't take it but that's authentic generosity. The lady who cut my hair also did a great job and cut my hair exactly as requested. read more

For the money, you can't beat this place. Only $15 for a haircut, and you get to set in an old school barber shop. Chuck Simon, the owner, even called me back to let me know that I left my hat there. Fantastic place. read more
