My son and I have run the gamut of barbers. We had a consistent barber for a few months but then he ended up changing locations which was inconvenient. We've been barber hopping for the past two months and it has not been the best experience. I really wanted to make sure my toddler had a pleasant experience at the barbershop. Unfortunately we've had the trap barbers, I won't go into detail. He's walked out the shop looking like he didn't even get a haircut. And I've been scammed on StyleSeat by Someone who had hacked into a barber's profile. I decided to try yelp since I was striking out on StyleSeat. Troy was beyond amazing! I called that morning to find out if they even serviced four--year-olds. He answered. He said they serviced 4 yr olds He said he had same day availability . In my haste I booked the appointment online but did not pay attention to the barber who I selected. As luck would have it, I was in a fender bender down the street from the barbershop 30 minutes before the appointment so I called to cancel due to the fact i was going to be late waiting on the police. Troy answered and mentions that I had not booked with him but the other barber allowed me to cancel. Troy actually drove to meet me at the accident site because he said he was heading in my direction. He told me that once he was done running an errand he would still give my son a haircut. I was nervous. So many people had screwed up cutting this little boys hair. Not Troy!! He was patient and even danced to my son singing Baby Shark while he was in the chair. He pulled up a chair and let me sit close by when most barbers wave you off to the waiting area. We will definitely be back! Glad to have found a convenient, family friendly barber shop! read more

Best barbershop on the Eastside! Shoutout to my guy Jarvis for always being consistent and getting me right. I highly recommend this place for your grooming needs. It's always a fun friendly vibe every time I come here so come check it out! read more

Patronized them twice, first time I went I went to Nick and he did a decent job. Customer service skills was neutral but he did a good job on my haircut outside of shaping up my beard. Paid him with a tip, came back the second time and it was a complete different experience. He forgot that I went to him the first time and was nonchalant about my haircut. I was very specific in how I wanted him to cut and the only thing he did right was line my beard up more thicker. He still didn't shape it and he barely touched my top or line my front hairline. My fade was not on par. I will never come back to him, if I do go back to the shop it'll be with another barber not him. read more

I had high hopes for this place but unfortunately I was let down. Cutters lounge is beautiful on the inside and barbers in there have great customer service skills. Barber skills though I'm unsure. I went to Troy. He was mad cool and made me feel comfortable in his chair. He listened to what I wanted and seemed to take care of me. It wasn't until I seen the end results that I was disappointed. I told him I wanted a temp cut & a light trim, only an inch off the top. He faded one side higher than the other & he cut over 2 & a half inches off my head. I was fine with that initially but upon further inspection of my hair I noticed it wasn't cut evenly. There are pieces of my hair that are visibly longer than other pieces which utterly infuriated me. The only good part of the haircut was my hairline which was crisp. Everything else left me disappointed and annoyed. I wouldn't go back to him. read more

5/5 Stars Top Tier Cut! Renard was my barber and I got a temp fade. It was a all around great cut. The edge was on point and the fade was as close to perfect as you can get. Came in after not having a cut for almost a month and left crispy. Book a cut here its a game changer. Shop was 5/5 also! read more

Troy is a genius. Give him a pair of clippers and he can do wonders. I have been going to Cutters since I moved to Atlanta (I trusted Yelp reviews and was not disappointed). Appointments are easy to make (online) and he sticks to his schedule - meaning last minute changes are difficult. Given his craft, he is always booked closer in, so plan in advance if you can. While I visited Cutters in the old location (Salon Studios) and it was a one man show, he is moving to a new location and plans to expand his services. Kudos to him - his work highlights his talent. read more

I wish I can give this barber shop seven stars!! Arrived from Los Angeles for training in Atlanta and was looking for a barbershop last night. I booked an appointment with Jarvis and was blown away from the service and the atmosphere of the shop. For anyone looking for a place for a haircut and shave, this is the place to go to!!! Thank you Jarvis for the Southern hospitality and hopefully we will cross paths again. read more

I got nervous at first cause Troy couldn't see me cause I was hella late. He passed me off to Jarvis, but he KILLED IT. Took his sweet time to cut my hair and do it right. Full service with the beard straight razor line up included. For 40$ you can't beat that. Top 10 haircuts I've gotten for sure. Highly recommend Jarvis. Just make sure you leave enough time, cause the man is detail oriented. read more

60$ to have my instructions ignored about length of my hair to be cut. Had attitude about the way I paid for the haircut even though I literally used their website and reservation portal to pay for the cut. I'd imagine it's a decent place if for some people but I don't think they have much experience cutting white hair read more

I was lucky enough to get my hair cut by Troy the first week I moved to Atlanta and I haven't tried to look for another barber since. He does clean fades and is consistent with every cut. There's nothing more reassuring than never having to worry about getting a bad haircut. Troy moving from a studio to opening his own shop should speak volumes to his quality of his work and the demand of his ever-growing clientele. Every person I've met at the shop has nothing but love for him so be sure to check it out. read more

Booked a 10 am, got there and waited for 45 minutes for my barber to call me while I'm in the shop and tell me that he couldn't get me in and he would see if someone else could get me in. Waited 20 more minutes before I took matters in my own hands and asked for a cut. Then the new barber then charged me for his cut even after I paid for the other barber already so it all cost me $100 to get a basic lining and fade. They're supposedly refunding the first charge but I'm still waiting on that. Bro this was the worst barber experience I've ever had. Don't go here read more

Just left Cutters Lounge after getting my first cut from Jarvis. I gotta say, this was hands down the BEST haircut I've ever gotten. He listened to my needs and pays very close attention to detail. Takes his time to ensure that you're satisfied with the result. Definitely will be a regular. I've also gotten cuts from Travis and Nick who are also great. Can't go wrong with this place. read more

I was in Atlanta for a seminar and to visit my sister. I found Troy on Yelp and then saw his photos on Instagram. I liked that he had an option for a women's clipper cut and his instagram photo were also impressive, including women's clipper cuts he had previously done. When we arrived he was right on time, introduced himself to both me and my sister. He was very professional, friendly, and accommodating to the type of cut I wanted. He made both me and my sister feel welcomed and comfortable. He did a great job on my haircut. His services are well priced and the salon studio is easily accessible. Troy has a very pleasant personality and I'll be sure to see him the next time I'm in town. read more

Don't go here . Walked in . Tried to get a line up . Dude said it was ok . Came back and he stayed in his car . I always tip 20 percent and try to support black businesses but it's a waste most of the time. If you stay in station r . There's more barbershops in the plaza . read more

Mark is skilled, knows his clients well and makes you feel like family. Best barber I've had for my son and the only one that I trust.

Troy is one of the best barbers I've been to. Cutter's Lounge is located in the Salon Studios Building, next to L.A. Fitness. If you go there on Monday, the doors are locked, but Cutters Lounge is still open. You just have to dial in and look for, "Troy" in the call box. Then he'll come by and get you. This isn't a regular salon. It's just a room with a chair, you, and him. I liked the nice, intimate feel. It's feels nice, private, and quiet. Troy is a good talker, like all Barbers should be. He knows how to get rapport and exchange pleasantries. His cutting techniques are excellent. He uses his tools well and is precise. He seems to know about the latest trends and styles. He also gives good advice one what can look good on your head. As of September, 2015, Troy is the only guy working there. He does not have anyone else doing hair for him. So when you make an appointment, you know you're getting the man. His signature haircut costs $28. He cuts your hair, gives you a neck shave, and shampoos your hair. I like his shampooing. He uses some sort of brush during the shampooing and makes your scalp feel nice. Then he puts some tingly conditioner and rinses it all off. My head felt pretty good. If you're in the Buckhead area, you should definitely give Troy a try. He has over 15 years of experience and knows hair very well. read more

A haircut is a haircut, unless Troy is your barber. I've been seeing him for at least two years and don't plan on using anyone else as long as I'm in the Atlanta area. The shop is modern, clean, in a very nice and upscale area. Troy makes sure all of his clients are comfortable and well taken care of down to the smallest detail. His professionalism and genuine personality also shines through the clients he serves. From CEOs to entertainers, to pro athletes, to the average guy who needs to look consistently sharp; Troy treats everyone with the utmost respect and makes sure you leave with a smile on your face and an impeccable cut. I highly recommend him, you'll become a client for life after the first visit. read more

BEST HAIRCUT! I travel a lot so I often have to search for a barber wherever I'm at and hope they do a good job. My hair is not the easiest to blend and rarely do I come across a barber I've never been to that gives me exactly what I want. I went to see TROY who happens to be from my hometown Miami, and all I can say is Troy hooked it up! Honestly the best cut I've ever gotten and the blend on my fade is so clean. I've already had ppl ask me where did I get my cut. Apart from the quality of the haircut; the overall environment and experience was top notch as well. Good conversations and the shop itself is nicely designed with an open feel to the street. Most definitely got that good ol' barbershop feel I missed from back home. read more

Troy has been cutting my hair since I was a kid in Miami, Florida. We randomly saw each other one day after we moved to Atlanta and he's been cutting my hair ever since. I am on a work trip to Atlanta and was totally stocked to try out this shop! Unfortunately the plane was 2h delayed and I missed the appointment and the business meeting. I was too stressed out to cancel the appointment with Cutters Lounge. I apologize for this! However, the message I got when I finally had reception is a bit strange (see below). I guess I won't be served there in the future... I still give 3 stars for not giving a f* about the customers. "Today you had a haircut scheduled at 5:15pm. I called your number twice to confirm but this no call no show doesn't work. Do us a favor and not book again, you will not get serviced at Cutters Lounge. Owner Troy Higgins" read more

A few months ago I moved to Atlanta from Cali and was in need of a new Barber. I ran across Troy Instagram and book an appointment with him. If you are in the Atlanta area and need a perfect cut go to Troy he will not disappoint you! read more

As we all know a hair cut has the chance to make or break your day, week or how ever long it takes for it to grow out. For real, a fresh cut can make you feel like you're the best looking person on the planet but on the flip side, it can make you feel beyond busted. Have you ever had a haircut so bad that you had to position yourself a certain way when you talk to someone so they cant see how bad your hair look? Like you found the one good part of your hair and thats all you're allowing that other person to see. With that being said, I had NONE of those issues with Troy. Walked in, Troy greeted me with a big smile, dabbed me up and then went to work. We worked together to make sure we got the best result, a true professional in every sense of the word. I genuinely enjoyed myself on every level. Thank you Troy for the great cut and I'll see you soon boss. Do yourself a favor and visit cutters lounge or don't and have a busted crop. LOL read more
