    Grilled Redfish
    Scott T.

Another night another venture out to dinner with my coworker. This time the quest was for fish so off to Chuck's Fish! We fought the traffic amazing how traveling just 4.5 miles from your hotel takes well over 25 minutes. Huntsville has definitely exploded. We loved the decor and high ceilings very cool. As someone else mentioned in a review very cool to see the bar, sushi area and the cooking taking place in plain sight. We got there at 6:00 and by the time we left the place was crowded. Our server was great. She knew the menu and gave us great advice. My coworker ordered a rosemary old fashioned and I went with a local amber beer. For dinner, I opted for the grilled redfish over rice pilaf which comes with a creamy peppercorn sauce. My coworker went for the red snapper with artichoke hearts. We enjoyed the dishes. My fish was seasoned nicely and the rich cream sauce made me feel guilty but boy was it good. I thought both our portions were sizable. I was surprised that the redfish was $38... but like we all know everything has gone up! We both were stuffed and had no room for dessert. But we will be back next trip to try something else!

Pizza was okay, I did like the hot honey topping on top of the Pizza. My husband loved his Yellowedge Grouper and the rice pilaf and vegetable medley that came with it. Service was great. It is one big open place with plenty of space for large groups and plenty of bar seating.

One of my favorite restaurants. Always fresh and presented well. Not a chain with great specials.

This place is AMAZING!! We can't wait to visit again soon! Pricing is also reasonable especially with quality of food/service!! We ordered snapper throat for appetizer and smoked tuna dip both were so good!! I didn't get pics of dinner plates but I did get one of an appetizer. The ambiance reminds me of New Orleans style and it's beautiful! I can't say enough about this place! I definitely recommend this place!!!

Another win for Madison--with a few disclaimers. I first attempted to visit Chuck's Fish a couple of weeks ago with my daughter, but we were turned away due to their internal practice of hosting a "friends and family night." Since our names weren't on the list, we had to make other plans and ended up at Stoney Grill, where we had a five-star experience. Fast forward to tonight--my daughter wanted seafood, and despite my initial hesitation (I didn't want seafood tonight), we decided to give Chuck's another shot. I'm glad we did. The restaurant has a cozy and unique atmosphere. The lighting is somewhat dim, and the walls are a bit cluttered with abstract art, giving it some distinct character. One of the highlights is the story of Chuck and his connection to some of our state's most pivotal civil rights moments--you can read about it on the menu when you visit. Chuck is or was a good man, even if we was an attorney. Now, on to the food. My daughter, who is notoriously picky, loved the Seafood Gumbo--so much so that she had two servings. Then she moved on to sushi. Then grouper. Every dish got top marks from her. As for me, I opted for pizza, which turned out to be phenomenal. Just a note: the "hot" in the Hot Homey Pizza description refers to heated honey, not spiciness--a great touch. Service started off slow after we were seated, testing my patience a bit. But once our server arrived, she was attentive and on top of things, making up for the wait. Normally, I like to give a place a few visits before reviewing, but this was an easy five stars in spite of the wait. Just keep in mind--Chuck's Fish isn't the place to come if you're in a hurry, and it's probably not ideal if you're watching your budget the day before payday. But if you're looking for great seafood in Madison, this spot is definitely worth a visit. I expect the service will only get better from here.

Loved the atmosphere and loved the food. I spend a lot of time in Florida and the Grouper Piccata was amazing. Wonderful flavor, but I vote for the rice. The potatoes are great, but rice is a better pairing. We sat outside for a family birthday. Wonderful menu and attentive helpful service. I highly recommend it. My one complaint is the 2-3% Cliff Farm development fee, but that isn't their fault. Why exactly are we paying this? Definitely give them a try. You won't regret it.

This spot is a local staple for me whenever I'm in town. The fish is fresh from the Gulf, and the service always feels top-notch. The vibe is relaxed but slightly elevated--definitely one of the best seafood spots in Huntsville. The red snapper throat is consistently a standout: crispy, tender, and just plain special. Our party also had the Parmesan-crusted grouper, cooked perfectly. We also tried the triple fin with lemon and butter, and I couldn't resist the crab-stuffed shrimp--so good. The service really makes the experience, and it's consistently worth every visit.

4.5/5 stars. Would highly recommend getting reservations, even though the space is large it gets busy especially on weekends. Upscale, seafood restaurant, with fresh options and weekly specials. Diverse menu with anything from fish entrees - sushi - pizzas and steak. Appetizers: $24 for poke nachos, can get them for less else where, however they were a fairly large portion with fresh tuna. Just not worth the $24 to me. Entrees: stuffed grouper special, served with jalapeño cheddar grits and asparagus. Very delicious buttery and served with a grilled lemon! Husband ordered the artichoke red snapper with risotto. I must say the risotto was better than the grits! Just ooey gooey perfection. Once again buttery flaky fish with the perfect sides. Topped with sautéed artichoke hearts. They have secret menu items, mainly sushi, (be sure to ask about them, because our waitress didn't inform everyone)! Upscale restaurant, fresh seafood, lovely decor and ambiance. A little crowded but a lot of dining space to choose from. Overall, lovely seafood addition to Huntsville that we so desperately needed. Can't wait to come back and try other menu items because there's a lot to choose from

My friends and I arrived Sunday around 5:30 pm, party of 3, no wait. The atmosphere upscale, with an eclectic classy type of vibe. Our waiter Dillon was very good. I had the Grouper Piccata, my friends ordered Sushi. They were both excellent. .

Whoever the Sushi Chef is here is clearly the best in this area. Not only was the taste off the charts, but the presentation looked like a piece of art. The service was outstanding and the ambiance was top notch.

I have to begin this review with AMBIANCE it was so beautiful ( reminds me of Bravo) The lighting and interior touches create a space of love for your whole family or significant other. The service was good. We were kindly seated and served promptly with respect. A few at our table ordered cocktails to begin. The margarita was served in a tall glass ( i prefer short) and was wayy too sour as if the fresh made sour had gone bad lime went bitter. The old fashioned was made well and Cabernet ( Daou) was superb. Entrees were made well but nothing on the menu peaked my interest. I do think the menu needs revision.

Everything about this place was A+++. The food was terrific and the service was great. We are already eager for our next dinner here.

Nice place but kind of loud really bad art work on walls Food Wife liked the redfish but did not think it warranted 40$ nor the french 75cocktail at 15$ I had the fried shrimp plate. 6 shrimp with really bad French fries 28$. Doubt we will be back at these prices. No bread service or side salads.

The exterior alone is adorable! A traditional Japanese building with little figurines and even a large Totoro in the garden. It felt whimsical and nostalgic. I was seated right away and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive, checking in without being intrusive. The owner even stopped by each table to make sure everything was perfect but didn't linger too long. I started with the takoyaki, and it was one of the best I've ever had. Crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and the octopus was tender. The sauce and bonito flakes were just the right amount. For my entree, I ordered the curry chicken katsu lunch special, which comes with a soup or salad. I chose the miso soup since it was cold out and it was absolutely the right choice. The katsu was perfectly crispy and paired beautifully with the rich Japanese curry. I especially loved the big pieces of mushrooms and onions in the curry. Before heading out, I ordered a lychee green tea with boba and lychee jelly to go. The boba was perfect and didn't get tough sitting in the cold drink like some places. 10/10 would go back and would recommend to anyone who is looking for an authentic and fun Japanese restaurant.

Upon driving up to the restaurant, it looked like one of those traditional Japanese tea houses. It had Totoro outside with an umbrella, which fit the rainy day that was happening. Inside has a Studio Ghibli theme. Gentle piano music from the movies play in the background, and it has a homey, comforting feel to it. The server was so kind in helping me decide what to get because I haven't been in the area before. Looking at the prices, it was extremely reasonable, especially with the quality of food I got in return. After much consideration and asking for suggestions, I ended up getting the grape green tea, their black tonkotsu ramen, and their strawberry crepe cake. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The noodles were the perfect amount of richness and flavor. The noodles were bouncy, chewy, and the perfect compliment to the pork bone soup, which was salty and smooth. The green grape green tea was floral and a refreshing contrast to the hot soup and noodles. The strawberry crepe was a great finale to an already great meal! It had layers of rich creme in between each thin crepe layer. It created a symphony for the mouth as the texture and flavor was out of this world. My expectations were blown out of the water for sure. If I lived nearby, I would be a frequent visitor to this incredible establishment. They have earned their 5/5 star review.

The beef bulgogi that I cooked was okay... I've had better elsewhere, but maybe that's because I'm not a very good cook and may have grilled it too long. The lemon chicken was also ok, but I probably cooked too long and I only ate a couple of pieces because server warned me I should use scissors to cut chicken to make sure it gets cooked enough inside, and, well... I got to feeling anxious about if I was undercooking or overcooking it, so I gave up. The salad was meh, and I didn't like the look of the cucumbers (they looked brownish, not fresh) so left them untouched. At first, I thought the restaurant itself looked nice... but then I noticed that the tables and floors were not the cleanest, and walking back to the restrooms, I passed a kitchen or prep area that had several puddles of water on the floor. It did not help me feel comfortable. It's a large restaurant, but there were only a few patrons inside during the height of rush hour. I should have been more observant before I sat down. Overall, I really wanted to like the place and a positive is that the Korean music videos on the TVs were very enjoyable, but unfortunately once I got to feeling "ick", I just couldn't shake that feeling. Once again, that's probably more a reflection upon me as someone who does not enjoy cooking, even at home, so please take this review with a grain of salt. Your experience may indeed be much better than mine, especially if you possess a more open and adventurous cooking spirit :)

He had an airpod in and was on a 9 way video call of some sorts with his phone on the food cart. He did a little perfunctory interaction with the kids and spatula whacking/egg balancing/fire column at the beginning and then just proceeded to cook out food and mutter into his call. Kinda off putting and definitely a much poorer experience than my first time here. My family liked the food -- we got steak and chicken, chicken, and shrimp hibachi. Portions were all very large. To be honest, I usually have very low expectations of "hotel restaurants," but I will say Banana Leaves exceeded those. If I were staying at a hotel and this was my option for dining, I wouldn't be mad. However, I also don't think this would be my first choice for an Asian-influenced dining experience. They have dishes from a lot of different Asian countries on the menu, though I'd say it leans most heavily Thai or Malaysian, with room for Japanese sushi. The menu isn't overwhelmingly large but it is quite varied. It was fairly quiet when I visited in the middle of the day on March 4. A few other diners trickled in while I ate. Service was suuuuper sweet. Kind, respectful, and diligent. I did go a little while between finishing my meal and getting a check, but I think she was trying to be respectful of me finishing up my food. I wasn't finishing it because I didn't really care for it, but that wasn't my waitress' fault. She even brought out a few small pieces of fruit for dessert as well as a box for my meal. Very thoughtful. I decided to order one of their lunch specials as that was the most cost effective option. I selected the Thai Basil Chicken. It comes with white rice, a salad, a spring roll, and a cup of soup. I also got a Thai iced tea to drink because I can never resist those. The Thai tea was very pretty. It was not particularly sweet and had a fairly strong almost vanilla-like flavor. I do prefer mine on the sweeter side personally, but it wasn't bad. I was warned that the Thai Basil chicken would be spicy but I really didn't find it spicy at all except when I ate an actual piece of chili. Then, it was pleasantly warming but nothing crazy. The vegetables still had a nice snap but for me I thought the chicken was rubbery and I really didn't like the texture of it. I mostly ate veggies and rolled my nicely cooked white rice around in the sauce. Disappointed in the chicken. The spring roll was fine -- exactly as you'd expect. I didn't realize there was a small divot in the dish that held the sweet and sour dipping sauce until it was basically too late. Oh well. The salad was plain but I enjoyed the typical Japanese style gingery dressing. I was somewhat pleasantly surprised to see the soup was a wonton soup. That was nice and I enjoyed trying it though I ultimately found the wontons to be rather bland. Idk, 3 stars sounds a little harsh but 4 is too generous. I think that the idea is really there but just a few too things missed the mark for me on the execution level. If I were to return, I'd like to try some of their Malaysian dishes, as there aren't a ton of places around Huntsville that serves that cuisine. I appreciate the kind and polite service and calm atmosphere.
