This chuckie cheese has been on 22 since I was a kid and now I take my own kid here. They have updated drop coins to play cards, you can either purchase time or amount of coins. I bought an hour for $26 dollars. The place itself is just enough space, the games are a bit dated. Many of them were out of order when I was there. All in all a standard chuckie cheese. I will say the workers are mostly young kids lack professional etiquette. While waiting to redeem coins the worker just walked off stating he was off the clock lol. read more

This is my first visit to the brand new Chuck E. Cheese in Union, New Jersey, which just opened a couple months ago. It is absolutely stunning, it is bright, clean and has a whole new entertainment package with a digital dance floor and Jumbotron. The games are fantastic for little and big kids, and of course families to all play together. The pizza was phenomenal, as always, and I'm even impressed. They have New Jersey's on Buddy Valastro's cake slices! I'm really impressed with the friendliness of the staff and how incredible the experience was. This is the first time i ever come to a chuck e cheese and its not crazy full with people..which is great. Only thing is that a lot of the games didn't give out tickets. When asked an employee in the front was told to find someone in the back..nobody in the back. Found someone else and was told they couldn't do anything..that i needed to find someone that was on the floor...needless to say..no tickets. Just don't. I have lived in Union, NJ for over a decade now and I'm all for patronizing local businesses so I tried ONE MORE time to give this location a chance to not disappoint us like it had in years prior but sadly, it just made us remember why we don't come here. It's not exactly clean but we at least trusted the salad bar enough to get some stuff. The Pizza and wings are lacking majorly but that part I expected. So, we brought our own cake with us and it wasn't a cheap cake. Well they were nice enough to bring plates and forks but then threw away our cakes container in the back somewhere. When we finally found someone to help us he was spraying down tables but said he would box it for us. They DESTROYED our sheet cake. Not really sure why this location has such a low reviews. My nephew and son always have a great time here. The pizza and wings are always fresh and delicious. We've been here several times without issues for birthday parties or just for fun with the boys. It can get crowded but that's to be expected depending on the time. I don't know why there are so many negative comments about this Chuck E. Cheese location. Maybe people just like to complain in order to get something free out of it?!? I congratulate the workers. Even though it took a while in the food line today, the workers still smiled and were very helpful. The stuffed crust pizza is great! Some of the games didn't work, but there was someone there working on them. The tickets now give 8 tickets instead of 4, which is great! The manager is an absolute sweetheart! Always smiling, always polite! I have been coming to this Chuck E. Cheese since I was little, and now I bring my children. Whenever I had a problem, I always brought it to an employee or managers attention, and it was always settled. I hope this Chuck E. Cheese location stays for a long time! read more

So disappointed, there was only 1 person taking orders, it took me about 15 minutes to place my order. I ordered at 3:13 and it is now 4:05, I also ordered on same ticket a salad and there was no salad bar set up!! They said we had to wait since they didn't start to set up until 3 since they had to wait for something to cool down?? (I purchased my order til after 3??). No tickets for you! All the token machines were broken. All the game tickets were either jammed or empty, and every single game was set to give *only* 4 prize tickets. All the ticket eaters were out of order. Two floors of games, many broken. There was a huuuuuuge line just to order/get tokens. I remember coming here as a kid when it first opened back in the mid 80's. Back then the pizza tasted like the new plastic trays they served them on and we'd spend all night cheating at skeet ball, running up the lanes to score more points to get tickets to win junk! I digress... This is one rough Chuck E. Cheese. At times the crowd here is a tad bit..well.."rough" which can be a little concerning when you have young children around. It has all of the standard rides & games as well as the animatronic show that the kids LOVE! Overall the place is ok. We just try to hit other locations if we can. read more

I like this place. The employees are very friendly, the place is always clean. You get free tickets when you dance with chuck e. you can find cupons on line and save money. This was my life saver when i had no place to take my 4 yr old during the winter. I never spend more than $25 and had enough food for the both of us and games. read more

Though I've been here years (YEARS) ago for my own birthday party... It's obviously not as magical as it was way back when. This location wasn't too crowded, which was nice for us adults, but probably not for business. Truth be told, the pizza and overly sugary cake was bomb. read more

Avoid this location at all costs. Went there on a Sunday with the family and around 30-40% of the games were either "out of order" or had empty ticket dispensers. The bathroom paper towel dispensers were all empty save for one, and there were hardly any staff to be seen. We ordered a few platters of kids chicken nuggets that that took nearly an hour to arrive and nearly half of the self-serve soda dispenser flavors were empty or broken. The whole experience was just awful and depressing. I read recently that Chuck E Cheese was trying to revamp and make itself relevant again but the owner of this location didn't get that memo. read more

It's Chuck E Cheese: if you go in with the right (tempered) expectations, it's always a great time. Just enough more challenging arcade games for older kids (and adults) with all the child and young child games and activities to go along with it. This location in Union is def much cleaner and renovated than I remember, but, still in good ole Chuck E Cheese. Only down side is that you get about 4 to 7 tickets from games no matter how well you do. And, it takes a literal fuck Load of tickets to get something great. read more

Disaster zone! Brought my 2yr old in because he was given a gift card and I can say without a doubt I will never come here again. Right from the start the first game machine he wanted to play was broken. Now I know he is 2 and is limited to what games he can actually play and they supposedly have a little area for children his age but that was over run by older kids and we went to at least 3 other machines that were broken. In the lobby, the ticket prize line and the food purchase line had no organization so people didn't know where to go. I really had high hopes for this place, what a disappointment. This is the worst Chuck E. Cheese I have ever been to. It's is filthy. My friends child waited over 90 minutes for a personal pizza and the and the manager, John Wells, never came over to see us. Let me first start by saying, this place need better management. I was there for a bday party and they overbooked at least 60 people to the point people didn't have anywhere to sit. The line to get in was ridiculously long and there was this one kid working.. He seems exhausted and overwhelm. I felt bad for him because he had to check people leaving and people walked out with checking with children; including myself. The games were broken and kids where getting agitated because they wanted to use a game. The line for the food was profound. What kid should wait 1hr and 1/2 for food.. Run down, disgusting, and staff clearly does not care about maintaining a basic level of hygiene. Avoid this location at all costs. Omg! The customer service is terrible. I understand that teenagers are the primary workers however, the attitudes they display will not prepare them for the real world. I waited over a hour for a large pizza...nothing extra. Once the pizza arrived I made a statement about the pizza taking so long and he asked if I wanted him to take it back since I was complaining. Like someone said in a previous review, you have to go in this place with the right mindset. We've been here twice and it's way better than the other Chuck E Cheese's we've seen. The food is tasty and fresh, the workers are nice, and the inside is immaculate and not run down like many ones I've been to. It's seems recently renovated. I've taken off one star because the outside is pretty skeezy looking. The bushes are not trimmed and it looks like the place has been abandoned. Also, we've seen a couple weirdos just hanging out in their cars in the lot. This could be because the lot may be shared, but nonetheless it's a bit bothersome. This is by far the worst Chuck E. Cheese ever. I have not been here maybe since 5+ years so I said "it's the closest, let's just go" (we normally go to the one in East Hanover) and this is what happened. First, I encountered a car in the parking lot with three men(one was leaning on the back car door, one was inside, and the other was leaning on the hood), not only were they listening to loud music but they were drinking liquor AND smoking weed (and I say weed because of the smell). I was extremely appalled at this sight. This is a place for children not for setting a bad example in the parking lot. Second, I waited about 20-30+ mins in line to order my food. Upon arrival, the young lady who stamped our hands said to please wait in line and that there were TWO registers opened. At some point one of the cashiers got annoyed, told a customer who was next, that she was "CLOSED!", continued to count her money - at some point the cashier next to her asked if she could help him with something. She got annoyed, told him she couldn't and that she was leaving IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS, took off her gloves and stormed into the double doors that led to the kitchen. So now we have one cashier, dealing with a customer that doesn't know what he wants, is being totally inconsiderate to the rest of the line, and THEN a customer cuts the line and demands to get his order changed to something else - cashier doesn't even finish with the first customer and does what the other customer is demanding. I honestly felt terrible for the cashier but this establishment should have proper protocol where a manager should be called in these circumstances to help the customer with the special request and for him/her to see that another cashier is needed. Anyway so, during the process of the cashier granting this customer his special request he ends up not knowing how to open the register to take in the extra money... at that point a man with a purple shirt walks out, works the computer and DONE - before he leaves I said "excuse me can you please open up another register" he mumbled something and walked right through the red double doors. And yep, NO cashier was called to cover. Third, after waiting to get my order. We finally get to walk in.... and we literally walked into the gates of hell. It literally felt like when you walk into a New York City subway during the summer...JULY/AUGUST summer. There was no AC and ZERO ventilation. At first I thought it was the smell of the cheese, cause it smelled cheesy and doughy but then the deeper we walked in the more suffocated we felt. I even tried to give them a chance and said to myself maybe the AC turns on and off, but NOPE. What a complete disappointment. At the time the weather outside was 85+ the AC SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON!! (10:12PM) and guess what an AC has yet to turn on. Also HEAT helps bacteria grow - this is how disease spreads!!! Finally, clean up... workers are SO happy that one was napping in the back corner on a bench and the one who was cleaning up tables was violently knocking the tables over. I know that lying them sideways is a way of not letting people use them but there is no need for loud noises and that aggressive and careless body language in doing so especially around children. **wanted that to be my last thought but one more thing. BE VERY CAREFUL with your things - after our pizza arrived I noticed from far away that the ticket was no longer there so as I began to head over, there was a woman who was eyeing my pizza and she was looking around getting closer and closer.... now I don't like to make false accusations but I knew immediately what her intentions were. When we walked up to the table she flew and sat a few booths in front of us to which she proceeded to act like nothing happened - then she left. **a lot of the machines are out of tickets - Very bad experience at this location. A couple years ago, my grandparents took my brothers and I here and on some occasion with our cousins, but this time it was just me and my brothers. I had a ok time but my brothers had a terrible time. Some Brat was hogging a game my brothers wanted to play and his mom said "He can play as long as he wants". My 8 year old son was in the slide/tube play area and a while later he runs to the table crying his eyes out. He tells me that a staff member told him to leave the play area because he was cursing. He said the staff member was still up in the tube. After waiting a few minutes, the staff member did not come out (creepy!). We went to the front to ask for a manager and a second staff member, after speaking to a manager, walked with us back to the tube/slide play area. He asked my son to point out the staff member. Again, we waited a couple of minutes and no one came out. The 2nd staff member just told my son to go back in and "have fun". He added, just let me know if you see him. Seriously? At the very least, they need to go in to the tubes and see which creep is hiding in there with all the kids. And then he should have given my son some free tokens to cheer him up. read more

If you get there on the early side you can take advantage of there not being many crowds. Once it starts filling up, it's harder to find games to play and those that are free are generally broken. Almost a third of the video games were broken. Sometimes you don't know it until you've already paid your money. At the end, many of the ticket reading machines are broken too. The store was clean and the people that worked there are polite. If they had a better maintenance program and more updated games, this would have been a better experience. We probably won't go back. With little kids it gets stressful quick when you have all this money on your game card but you can't find a working game to spend it on. read more

Service was horrible, it took almost an hour to get a plain large pie, the guest and the place smells. The cashier was miserable. The words please or thank you never came out of her mouth. This place is DISGUSTINGLY DIRTY. Before even entering the actual place, I smelled the place as dirty, muggy & a lot like feet with fungus. I hesitated even going any further. But I thought, since we're here, let's try to make the most of it. The cashiers at the food stand are unbelievably slow. After receiving my food, I decided to go to the bathroom and it was gag-worthy disgusting. How dare anyone not routinely clean the bathroom? Don't they know every 1-2 hours kids are going to wreck the place? It looks like they clean every month. There was dirty plates left on the tables, mess on the floor, everything was upside down. Upon being in there 20 minutes I started to sweat. There is NO AIR CONDITIONING. The heat is mixed with a bad odor and an air purifier everywhere can help. They need to be more sanitary. The place is so dirty a kid can catch a staph infection. Half the games are broken down, or out of tickets, or the tickets take forever to get out. When I won 82 tickets I was scared to eat the air heads in fear it's been there for longer I've been alive. The workers do minimum work. I see them just sitting around and texting until the boss tells them to wipe down a table. The table they wiped down was already clean. What about the dirty ones. Or are they simply to lazy? I guess I'd be lazy if I had to work in that musty heat. Make a routine for the workers to cover certain areas every hour or every time it gets dirty. Sanitize the place. Get an air purifier.
