This particular Chuck E Cheese has gone way down hill. I take my kids here every so often, but I will not be returning to this one. The salad bar yesterday was disgusting. The tomatoes looked okay but tasted putrid and so did the cucumbers. The dressings were all mixed up and even when employees appeared to be maintaining the salad bar, they never tried to clean up the dressings. Then... the French fries I ordered tasted kind of funny. They were soggy too. I'm a vegetarian and I frequently get sick if I accidentally eat something with meat in it, like a broth or whatnot, but this usually doesn't happen with fried food. I can only think that they cook them in the same oil as the buffalo wings and don't change it enough, because I got that very tell tale stomach ache. But really, I don't come here for the food, I come for my kids to play, so that's why I'm really irritated. Lots of cutting corners happening here. It wasn't that busy but many many machines that should have been giving tickets were out of tickets. I kept looking for people who worked there to fix it, but there just weren't people who weren't working parties. Worst of all, many of the machines were not working at all but had no signs to say they were out of order, so of course my kids kept putting tokens in them. The one game my daughter wanted to come for in the first place, the stretch one where it draws a picture of your photo, was not working. Neither was the one that makes little ID cards. I think they were intentionally off because they were out of supplies and the franchise owner is being cheap. The prizes have gotten worse. 50 tickets for a tiny box of nerds, the kind that come in big bulk bags. A month ago, my daughter had 75 tickets at an arcade in Long Beach and was able to get a little plastic crown. To say she was disappointed with a box of candy is an understatement. About a month ago, I was thinking that this might be a good place to have my kids birthday this year. I'm glad I visited first because I definitely will not be planning a party here now. read more

Am, I really going to write a review for this place... hahaha Ahhh... this is another one of my secrets. Well, I obviously went to this place as a kid. I remember and have a picture of me pulling Chuckie's tail. hahaha. I don't know... it's hanging there... so you pull it? I guess that was my feeling at the time. So when someone wanted to take me on a date... to Chuck-e-Cheese... I was a bit surprised. Ummm... hahaha. I don't even know what to say about that. It wasn't half bad... ummm... there are games and pizza. The pizza isn't bad.. it's in between deep dish and regular... and it's bready... so it's good. Well, Thousand Oaks has the best games (I didn't just admit that I know which games are in the West Hills one did I?!) and if you can get past all the little kids screaming in your face... well, it's not half bad. I took my toddlers here and of course we had a blast. No game issues. The only games down were one skeeball lane and the Fast & Furious. I do wish there were more games for two year olds and that you receive more tokens for cash but those are relatively minor issues. During the Happy Dance, Chuck's nose fell off and he split. One of my girls was super sad :,( Not throwing a fit just teary eyed heart-broken. Fortunately, Jennifer and the staff member playing Chuck E saved the day. In lieu of waiting another 30 minutes for the Happy Dance, they did it again in five minutes. It meant the world them so it meant the world to me. Great pizza, too. This place is a hit for the kids with fun but the food here is only ok. It can be a little pricy for what you get food and game wise but coupons help a little bit! Yesterday, we had a few issues there... we ordered a salad, large pizza, and three drinks. He asked if we wanted the herb butter on the crust (which I said no, since I wasn't sure the kids would like it and he seemed disappointed that I didn't get it and they still ended up putting it on it!), which I didn't even want to complain about once we got our pizza, because it took almost an hour. I asked after 35 minutes of waiting and I could tell they hadn't even started it, although they said it'd only take 5 minutes (another 15+ minutes later it finally came out!) While we were waiting for the pizza, my Mom has her salad, and I went to get her a clean plate (which they allow you to do), but once again no one was at the register and I grabbed one from the stack on on top of the counter. One of the younger workers (who ended up being the manager) practically runs over and asks me if I just grabbed the plate (trying to call me out - I was allowed to get a clean plate). I said yes, my Mom wants a clean one (it's a $9.11 all-you-can eat salad bar). He's like ok, but can I swap it for the old one. Ok, sure. When the pizza finally comes out I ask what happened and he said, "Oh, our cook was on his break." I asked how that can be avoided for the next person. He asked if I'd like to talk to the manager and I said yes. Then, he goes on to tell me that we aren't allowed to use the regular plates like that (my Mom was put a few salad bar items on a plate for my starving 16 month old, while we waited for the kids' pizza). I told the worker that I didn't care since they took so long with the pizza and my kid was starving. He just walked away and didn't know what to say. Lol! I don't normally talk like that, but come on, he had the audacity to try and enforce that when they messed up with the pizza. He could've said something but excused it due to the circumstances. A few moments later, the manager comes over and looks all dopey. I explained to him why my little one was eating a few salad bar items which he said he understood. I went on to tell him that no one even apologized for what happened with the pizza. He apologized and then left. Then, it took forever to cash in our tickets because only one person was working he register and prize stand. She kept ringing people up for food who were in that line less time than the prize people. I guess that takes precedence. Not sure what everyone else was doing besides watching the salad bar security cam! There have been times that we were there and the food was terrible. The pizza was ok due to it being fresh and taking almost an hour! The salad bar is pretty good, but there was some slimy spinach, which is what I use. The food is perfectly fine, and includes a simple but sufficiently comprehensive salad bar. I am really impressed with the staff at this Chuck E Cheese. I've been to many birthday parties here with my children, and I am amazed at how well the staff members work with the kids and their parents. Suggestion: Set a timer (vibrate mode since you won't be able to hear it) for 1 hr. 30 min. and leave when the alarm goes off. I believe that adult brains overload and nasty headaches happen with the sound of so many screaming children in confined space at about the 2 hr. mark. read more

However, i wish there were more games and less slot machines (but people who have all-you-can play passes probably love that cuz they bust out a lot of tickets). Pizza is pretty good. This by far the worst customer service ever given. The treatment that was given felt as they treated my family and I as people who were stealing. The manager Erick kept coming to our section eyeing us as if we had stolen their salad bar. We spent over $500 in pizza for my nephew to celebrate his 9th birthday and Erick made the experience unpleasant. The rest of the staff was okay. Erick should not be working here with that type of attitude towards people who spend money in the establishment and help pay for his salary. We had our son's first birthday here a month ago and had about 50 people. The pros: The party package price was reasonable and the staff was pretty attentive. The surprising thing to everyone, including my husband and I, was how good the food was. We had low expectations based on past experiences (years ago) but everyone at the party kept telling us they thought the food was really good. When we had a chance to sit down and try it ourselves, we totally agreed. The sandwiches were tasty, the pizzas good, and the boned-in wings (spicy and sweet flavor) were spot-on. The cons: The kids' pizzas took forever to come out which left everyone eating the food we ordered for the adults. This was fine except when the kids' pizzas did come out (20 minutes after the adults' food), everyone was pretty full already so we had a lot of leftovers. The party felt really rushed because we had to clear the tables a little after the last of the food orders came out. This location is very small and the space felt a bit cramped. All in all, it was a pretty good experience. The kids had a blast and many families stayed for hours after the party to play. I had my daughter's 5th birthday party here in April 2019 and it was great! Hostess Makayla made sure that everything ran smoothly and was very friendly. Everyone had a great time. Just had our daughter's bday party here last weekend. Followed all the rules, submitted the final headcount and extra food order on time the day before and showed up to the location 20 minutes beforehand to set up, as the multiple reminder emails asked us to. Manager insisted on keeping the doors locked with us outside until 5 minutes before and then he complained to me that we shouldn't have come early. I brought the confirmation printout with our final headcount, which he apparently didn't have. He was visibly upset by the lowered headcount from our initial estimation. Obviously not every kid will RSVP yes, but he was clearly annoyed by that. Good thing we had the confirmation in writing. He then decided to deny us the 2-kid no-show grace - which is clearly stated on the website...they allow 2 no-shows without charge. He made up a bogus reason and refused to talked to talk to me in-person about it. Sent the server do it instead. Either corporate has very poor communication to the location, or this is just a terrible operator. Either way, don't plan a party here. read more

Worst experience I have ever had! Went here for the first time in a very long time for my cousin's sons birthday party. We had a huge party and brought them a lot of business...just about 40 people and tons of kids. It started when we first walked in and I had no kids with me. They stopped me and hassled me for not getting my hand stamped. I told them it's just my mom and I coming in we don't have kids with us why would we need to get our hands stamped? Finally they let us through. Every single woman working there behind the counter and at the door was extremely rude!!! They didn't have half the stuff available to order to eat. So we worked with what they had. Then they made sure to Let us know it's one drink per ID per hour , yet one of the young guys in our party went up and got Two drinks and didn't get carded, but they carded my 52 year old mother. An hour later I went up to get my second drink and they told me I reached my limit... I explained to them I only have had one drink. They did not work with me at all and were rude and insisting I was lying. My cousin was able to walk out w one of her kids Who originally came in with her brother and the numbers on the hand did not match to her child. Then when she reentered and realize that her daughter didn't follow out she was unable to walk out as a security precaution because the numbers did not match. So then. She had to argue with the lady at the front because the person's number who matched her daughters already left which was her daughter's uncle.. that's when we let them know that they already let us walk out with one child that does not have matching numbers to hers. Then that led to a huge altercation and the manager came over and they proceeded to accuse us of lying. Then the managerproceeded to argue and yell at my mom and told her she felt sorry for her and proceeded to talk to down to her and argue with her. Also they served alcohol to other people when the manager wasn't there but when we went out they said there's no manager you have to wait 10 minutes. A lot of people in our party left early because of the horrible customer service and how we were treated and our family spent a lot of money there throwing this party. I would not recommend going here ever and never have a birthday party there. They did not follow rules and procedures consistently through our two hours of being there. Many of the games eat your coins and dont work. Under staffed at the registers. Takes a very long time to order. Its not posted anywhere but they apparently have a rule that you cant order beer until noon which I realize makes me sound like a lush. But its not posted anywhere and on a Sunday, with a bunch of crazy kids running around I dont think its out of the question to serve grown adults. I tried ordering beer with 5 minutes to until noon. Staff also lied that the register couldn't even ring it up until noon which is not true because I saw someone get served beer but the manager had to remind the girl at the register to wait until noon. Lucky guy. Aside from the beer issue though there were othe problems. Mostly the lack of staff at the registers and the games eating coins. On a positive note: the pizza is really good. I have been bringing my grandchildren to this location for almost 5 years. It's clean and food is good. With the constant staff change the service is iffy at best except for....ART! HE ROCKS! He makes sure every guest is taken care of and they have a good time. It's gotten to the point that I call first to make sure ART is here, before I bring the kids! Room for 3 year old son here to have some fun. When you walk in they stamp your hand with a number and when you leave they make sure your child's number matches yours. First off you have to buy a card that is $10 or $12 just to play the games and then you add money to the card you just bought. I would also suggest getting a lanyard so your child doesn't loose their card.At least the games only cost 1 or 2 points. We were there only a couple hours and Chucky came out twice to dance and interact with the kids. I suggest ordering your food from the kiosk because all I wanted was a drink and waited in line like 15 minutes. It was pretty clean considering it's a place for kids to play. I didn't get any food so not sure how it is but the salad bar looked pretty good. The one other thing is that in games it gives you tickets so at the end you have to feed your tickets through a machine which is a pain in the but. It gives you a receipt to take to the prize counter. The toys aren't that great but my son seemed to enjoy them. Also on Wednesday's you can play all day for $15.00 not a bad deal. read more

Out of at least four Chuck-E-Cheeses that I've been to and really any Chuck-E-Cheese that I've ever been to the one in Thousand Oaks on Hillcrest outshines them all. The staff is really friendly and helpful especially Art. I actually assumed that Art was the manager if not the owner! The way he treats his customers and his coworkers is the same way a manager or an owner should treat people. Thanks Art for a great afternoon. The main reason for my review is Gaby, one one the managers who was in charge that day. She was so courteous and accommodating. She even helped my friend find a coupon to save her a few bucks. We had a very Special Birthday Party Dinner and playtime at Chuck E. Cheese's in Thousand Oaks on Saturday evening around 6:00PM. When we walked in the hand sanitizer at the spot where the guy stamps your had was empty. When we went to order our food the line took at least 30 minutes just to order and mind you they were not that busy. We looked to find a table and table after table we could not find a one that had been cleared off intact we had to bus our own table. Myself and a few other adults wanted Salad Bar.. well when we took one look at the Salad Bar we quickly changed our mind. It was a complete mess onions mixed in with the watery cottage cheese many empty bowls of toppings food on the floor in front of the salad bar it was disgusting. The soda dispensers were a mess and the floor you stand on was sticky and wet. The Bathrooms were also in poor condition trash cans overflowing stuff in the toilets, we did take pictures to report this environment to the Ventura County Health Dept. While taking pictures we also noticed the emergency exit was not completely closed, anyone could come in or go out without going through the front doors. So many games were not working or either had no tickets to give the kids. The line to retrieve your prizes was just another problem children would have to stand in line for such a long time just waiting for an employee to acknowledge them. Upon seeing more and more of the dirty conditions we all decided it would be best to just cancel our order and get the heck out of there to the major disappointment of the small children of ours that had been looking forward to the Birthday Party Celebration at Chuck E. Last night we came to celebrate my daughter first birthday . It was just a small group & let's start off by saying that the staff was very rude. . I was watching at how they talked to the kids , no smile , not friendly. If you're going to work at a children's place , you should be friendly. ALL coin machines were broken-with no out of order sign posted, so you stand there and try to get change and get frustrated and then go to the counter where to find everyone pissed off standing in line to get tokens for there children. Then if that wasn't enough, if you put your child in line for change the girl at the register wont give change unless you parent is present. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! What are all the children with money to spend that were dropped off for a birthday party suppose to do???? The man who fixes equipment happen to be there and I told him my concerns and he voiced to me that its Sunday and I don't even want to be here. WOW, this place runs on coin machines and your pissed to be here fixing them. Give me a brake, if your open and this is your business you better be ready to be here anytime your business is open. On top of that they are now only giving 75 CENTS for each dollar, SO now your paying 25% of your money to use his coin machines. Already making a ton of money off the arcade, you are now charged to use the coin machine just like a ATM machine. This is extremely poor business practiced. Our host Eric's professionalism at the Thousand Oaks location made our child's birthday party the most enjoyable and memorable experience to date. We have done a couple of bday celebrations at chuck e cheese and he has made this event most impressive. He was very attentive, fun and efficient with all of our requests and not only that, he was very entertaining and caring with our toddler. Absolute rip off. Spent $20 on a medium pizza and $11 on play pass to earn $2.65 worth of tickets. It's nearly impossible to win more than 5 tickets. Most games give 2 or 3. At one point we got a mini jackpot and literally won 2 tickets!!! Asked an employee and he just said " well the game knows what it's doing..." This place sucks now.
