Was believed to be the very first guest when the location opened in July 2002. Almost 23 years later based on reviews this location seems to be the best in metro Detroit. However being a fan of Chuck E Cheese's and an former employee at the Ann Arbor Michigan location I truly miss the animatronic stage show. It's clean inside and not too crowded. Face coverings are not required but recommended Which is nice since I fully vaccinated and wearing face mask for a long period of time makes me uncomfortable. We have been coming to this location of Chuckies since my kids were babies. It has seen us through a lot of events and good times, and now during an especially challenging time, I am glad it is still here for us. True, this place has had a lot of ups and downs in quality, but seeing that this review has been coming for way more than a decade, high ratings it deserves. We have had countless birthday parties and play dates here, school breaks and rainy days. I have truly spent a large chunk of change on pizza and games for all!!!! Honestly, the kids practically grew up here. But now we are currently going through a pandemic, so this location has been shut down on and off for the greater part of the year. Since there are not a lot of indoor options, the child who loves arcades and games simply craved a fun, nostalgic place to visit and forget the world's worries for a moment. This location is open during winter break. Either not many people know that this place is open, or currently want to play games, but Chuckies provided a safe environment, very, very socially distanced from anyone else to play a few games. To ensure we really had a safe space, we visited very early in the day. The kids were very happy playing the games. I like that the games rotate ever so often, so there were new machines for them to use. I also like that they offer the same games as the more adult venues, but for less. The price has increase since the beginning of its inception, but still offers a value beyond the more expensive arcades. You now use a card instead of tokens and tickets. You put points on the card and can refill points and check ticket status away from other people by using a machine were you tap the card. You can refill the card the same way, in a very contact free environment. We also did order a carryout since dine-in is currently not an option in MI. They streamlined the menu like Little Cesar's, making only one size pizza for $10. We got a meal deal, for $20 you could have four items, we got two pizzas, wings, and cheese bread. We did some minor upgrades to one of the pizzas, so it did cost extra, we added stuffed crust and more toppings. We also got a chocolate celebration cake and took our goodies home. The food was pretty decent for a Chuckies, if you crave that sort of experience, which indeed my child did. While we all know this is not gourmet, it is not too shabby!!!! Just left Chuck E. Cheese. We arrived around 5:30 on Friday. It was a little busy, but clearly not crazy busy. Olivia was very good at educating us about what was available as far as food and game passes. The place appear to be clean. The pop station needed some attention. The wait for food was a bit long. There was a particular young man who assisted me with updates on my food when I inquired. Tamiya assisted us when we waited about 20 minutes maybe a little more for a big cookie because the outer crust of the cookie was definitely burnt. She refunded it without any issues. As we did not have the time to wait another 25 minutes for a new one to be baked. RIDES: Just one ride out of service it looked like a flying bicycle. The giraffe ride was very busy didn't get a chance to ride. I miss the jungle gym they used to have back in the day. Would definitely go back. Bridgette is a gem as well. read more

It has been a long time since I been to Chuck e Cheese. Didn't feel welcomed at the front desk with her rather stoic and ice cold expression. I ordered regular bone in wings. For $18, this was the most pathetic wings I had in my lifeso far, only 2 drumetts and the rest are all flats with no meats. Also i waited for 30 minutes for this order. Why do anyone have to be so stingy? I regret my visit. With so many other options in the neighborhood, I don't think I will ever return. read more

The parking is very convenient. We came here for a birthday party, and luckily it was a pretty slow night. They now have cards you can scan instead of tokens for the games and rides which makes it very convenient. The food is as expected at a kids party with pizza, but they had a nice veggie plate and appetizers too. They even sell wine here now, which was a nice surprise for the parents. I took my 3 kids here and they had the most fun time my middle child got a picture with Chuck e and Chuck e got him a lot of tickets, very good food and the ice cream vending machine had such big ice creams and it was really good. My kids had so much fun with all the games and my oldest son had so much fun with the NFL and the NBA game he played it so much and the game where u hit the hammer and the claw machine for the bouncy balls was so fun for him, my daughter loved the motion game and she loved the racing games with the cars and it was extremely fun for all of us. I'm so sorry to give a negative review, but I feel I must after today's experience. My 4 year old grandson loves Chuck E Cheese, and I take him there often. My favorite thing about it is that the adult & child are stamped on the way in & stamps are checked before you leave. This is a safety feature I love as it keeps the danger of a child being kidnapped at bay. Today we were at the Novi Michigan location and there was just one girl working. She had to take all orders, stamp people in, and give out prizes for tickets. All was well until we went to leave. The employee was tied up at the prize desk when several groups were leaving including myself & my grandson. She glanced over at us, but did not approach. I keep a close eye on my grandson, but he has gotten away from me there before. I have always felt safe though knowing no one could leave with him except for me. I no longer feel that way. The Novi Chuck E. Cheese is amazing! We just moved here a few weeks ago and it's one of my sons favorite places. I have two autistic sons and they have been so accommodating! One of my sons is obsessed with the place. They have Chuck e come out extra times just for my son because we are usually there early in the morning and they are short staffed but they still have someone dress up as Chuck e even just for a few minutes. This was probably the dirtiest place I've ever taken my child but he had alot of fun. Not only was it dirty they had red tape all over the carpeted floor where there were lifts in the carpet? Not really sure what the bumps were but when I asked about the floor the waitress said they were getting a new floor. Following my toddler around I myself and my husband almost feel down and my toddler actually fell several times. Seems like a good idea to just close down for a day to get the floor replaced instead of having the hazard all over the place? It was just very strange. It's one thing to have to watch where your walking, it's another to have to try and avoid land minds everywhere. The food was actually decent so no issues there and they had a nice assortment of games but some of them were out of order. It was definitely a different experience then I remember as a child. I have many a fond memory of rolling up to Chuck E Cheese as a kid, so when it came time to take my little cousin on our first Annette-Olivia day I knew I wanted to take her to one. I chose this location because I thought, what with it being newer, that it might be a bit better than other spots. Oh dear was I wrong. Firstly, I do want to commend the super nice staff. They were friendly and had great methods in place to protect the kids. And the space was relatively clean, which is good. That's pretty much where my compliments end. Little cuz was a bit overwhelmed by the space so I decided to take her on a few kiddie rides to ease her into things. Of course nearly a third of the rides geared toward her age group (3 years old) were broken. Blerg. I did get her on a few, though, and she had a decent enough time. Time for games! Again, a bunch were broken. I think there were about 6 ski ball lanes and all but ONE was out of order. That is just crazy. Time for pizza! I take her to the front, order us a couple of individual pies, juice, and a balloon for the kid. We go play a bit more while we wait for our pizzas. When the time comes only one pizza (mine, with the toppings) shows up. The second pizza (her's--cheese) was not rung up. Luckily she was okay with me picking off the toppings off mine to eat so she didn't have a meltdown when her pizza didn't come (and she actually did like the pizza quite a bit) but still. UGH. I went back to the counter to order AGAIN and the gal was nice and apologetic but I was still annoyed. While we ate we watched the "floor" show. Gone are the animatronic band members of my youth. Instead, there's one--Chuck. E., whose wrist was broken so severely that his right arm hung limp as the rest of him moved. Creepy. Instead of the band there were massive TV screens, the largest and most central of which was broken and featured squiggly lines and lots of snow. WTF. I know this is a place with kids and kids can be hard on things, but really? To have almost a third of the joint be broken in some capacity? That's just seriously messed up. Luckily she's three and didn't seem to be disappointed but it was pretty rough having to keep telling her "oops, this one's broken!" whenever we went to a new machine. Also, NO BALL PIT! We brought our grandchildren here on a Sunday afternoon. When we walked in to the counter to purchase our pizza and game cards, there was no one at the register to take our order. We waited about 10 minutes. Not good when you have children who just want to play! The facility was Gross! Dirty, garbage all over the floor, icky tables, a lot of the games did not work properly, and only 3 of the 8 ticket munchers worked. I will say that the pizza was ok, not terrible. Recently went there with my 2 year old and my 11 year old nephew and they both had a great time. Good mix of ticket producing games, and actual video games. Pizza was passable, and the salad bar is well stocked. Do not attempt to go there without going online and printing out coupons. tokens are $.25 a piece out of the machine, but most of the time there is a coupon available that makes them about $.10. Considering everything is 1 token it is a cheap night of fun. And for those Aunts and Uncles going without kids they serve Beer & Wine. read more

It's a decent Chuck E. Cheese in the middle of Novi's shopping district. It's about ten years old but still seems new. The pizza is cheap and greasy, but there's something good about it. For about about twenty dollars you can feed your family and have about an hour of entertainment. Might be a little noisy, crowded, and you wonder where some of the parents are, but it's still a good value. My only complaint is they did replaced the cute parody movie posters with posters with drawings of creepy children like you would see in a coloring book from the dentist. Why Chuck E. I see all of the bad reviews of CEC novi on here .... last night on tues 10/23/18 we came here for my sons birthday and I was pleasantly surprised.... I haven't been to this location in a couple years and it was a 100% improvement from what it used to be ....the staff was awesome....it wasn't crowded at all and the new play cards are the best deal ever ! I can't get over how much this location has changed and the room in there now since they removed the slide and tunnels ! I see how everyone is complaining about the overcrowding and kids running crazy .... well if you went on a week night you can have all the room you want to move and no waiting on games ...... as for kids running crazy and loud it is a children's restaurant and play area for kids ! ..... thank you CEC Novi for giving my 11 yr old special needs child a birthday to remember ! read more

As far as this chain goes, this is one of the nicer locations. Staff is pleasant, food is quick and tasty, and restrooms are clean. I still think CEC is overpriced and annoying, in general, but if you have to go, this location isn't the worst. read more

Came here on a busy Sunday. Kids love this place so that's what really counts. Rides are short but do I'd they're attention span so it works just fine. This is my fourth trip here and my 1st trip on a weekend. The place was packed with birthday parties and families but we never had to wait more than 4 minutes for a game/ride. My 2.5 year old loves to climb on the jungle gym they have in the center of the restaurant and I like that she has somewhere to get her wiggles out. The pizza is actually not that bad, I was worried, and the combos they have include drinks, pizza, and tokens. A family of 4 can have a great time for under $30! I will be back but in the middle of the week when it's not so crowded. read more

On my own initiative, I would never host or attend a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. It epitomizes all that's soulless and life-crushing about childhood. My little one really wanted to see his cousin, though, so off we went with the beau. There should be a sign above the door: Lose all hope, ye who enter here. Chuck E. Cheese failed on many counts for this party. I could talk about the children ran about like packs of wild dogs, screaming and shouting. I could warn you about the parents yammering into their cellular phones or struggling to answer "Where's my food?" for the umpteenth time instead of corralling their kids. But you come to a venue like this expecting those shortcomings. What I don't expect is the colossal waste of time and money experienced here. Staff, admittedly mostly teenagers/early 20s, had a total air of disorganization and lifeless apathy. When they showed up to the table, they tossed down drinks and plates, then slunk off to hide in the kitchens from reality. Our server consistently got orders wrong. I saw more effort from the 5-year-old birthday boy to pronounce the pizza he wanted than the cooks or the waitress bringing the greasy, floppy despicable pie. They dropped the ball on so many levels, failing to clean up after a spilled drink at another table or deal with broken machines, of which there were many. Why were there out of order signs everywhere? We went on a Sunday afternoon, prime time for kids' parties and family time. I counted maybe four employees doing any work on the floor. I'm not trying to judge Chuck against Supino's here, but their pizza was atrocious. The crust was mushed down by a spartan layer of tomato sauce and cheese piled up in a corner. You can get better flavour and appearance with a $5 frozen pizza and your own oven. It won't cost you nearly so much as a pizza party on the third circle of hell, either. My anger is specially reserved for the poor appearance and quality of the food, and the lackadaisical response for our server about the uncalled for wait times. My family and parents-in-law ordered a simple starter: breadsticks. Thirty minutes passed without a sign of our server. We finally hunted her down between sporadic refills and toddler-wrangling to ask about the breadsticks and when they would show up. She shrugged and never bothered to follow up on the order. It took finding a manager -- a girl about 18 -- to ask where the breadsticks were, and she said they were busy, they were coming, just chill and have fun. Right, you try getting an excited and hungry 22-month-old to "just chill." Fortunately I came prepared with a dwindling supply of snacks that other relatives raided because the food wasn't showing up and what did was either a) burnt, b) cold, c) completely not what they ordered. It took a full hour to get our breadsticks. They were cold. They came with one packet of sauce. The server pretty much shrugged and my long-suffering sister, a veteran of fine dining establishments, finally lost it and demanded the breadsticks be comped. $19 for breadsticks that weren't even edible broke that camel's back but I lost my cool going into the ladies' room and finding not a paper towel in sight. The venue is already pretty dirty and full of germs from the various kids and their bodily fluids. Handwashing is not only important, but critical for food and health safety. Why were there no paper towels, and why was the soap practically empty? Notifying someone -- after a suitably long hunt to *find* any employee -- was met with a blank, vapid stare and "So? There will be some tomorrow." Not for me, not ever again. I was pretty much done the moment I realized no one was going to restock the bathrooms, the food was awful, and the bill justified in no way what service we got. Plus, the birthday boy was being shoved off a game by another bigger kid and none of the prizes are remotely worth it. I'll take my money elsewhere and refuse to visit this outpost, and I'm almost moved to send a letter to corporate headquarters on the sheer failures all around. I hosted my sons 2nd birthday at this Chuck E. Cheese's and all of the kids had a great time! As if they wouldn't. Hosting at Chuck E. Cheese's did take a lot of stress off of me, his birthday being two days before Christmas. My hostess was really great. She kept the tokens and drinks (pop that is ) flowing. Because of the holiday season it was not crowded and the manager informed us we could stay as long as we wanted. Which was awesome; the children played for hours and slept on the way home! My 15 year old daughter and I met a friend of mine and his 3 year old daughter here on a Sunday evening. This was my first and hopefully last time at this location, as it was packed. My friend said it is always like that. They kind of get you on "all games are one token" because I'm not really sure how much a token is...definitely not a quarter. I'm also not sure what age they are really catering to...not 15 or 3...perhaps somewhere in between. They do have my favorite basketball game; which my daughter has finally gotten better than me at, but hey, I am much better than my friend. :) And he swears he did not let me win. We didn't eat there, so I can't really comment on the food. I have no idea how much money we spent. I don't like that they are still doing tickets and tokens...I think other places are doing it better by putting everything on a single card. read more

He looked at us when we asked then turned around and kept walking.Twice!! The guy working the floor offered us extra tokens when a game malfunctioned, that was unexpected and appreciated. Don't expect even mediocre pizza here, it's pretty bad.. But there is so much entertainment, people don't really seem to mind. I found the game room very warm both times I've been here. I was appalled! My biggest problem being there was a FIGHT that broke out between adults! The arguing and yelling went on for a while then men started swinging punches. Took way to long for the manager to get the two families out and once they were on their way out the women stated a cat fight. This is Novi for goodness sakes not the ghetto! Going in the middle of the day on a Sunday seemed the best way to avoid massive crowds, but I'd say there were still a hundred people or so. Not unreasonable, but I can't imagine what a pain it must be to do anything here on a Friday night, or Saturday. Entering, everyone gets stamped with a UV code, and everyone gets checked on the way out, in theory. I don't think it would have been difficult to slip past the teenage girl working the gate, and between you and me, I don't think she was ready to put up a fight with anyone. It's a nice idea, all the same. Everything here takes one token, which I was pleasantly surprised by. $20 in tokens was way, way more than enough for my five year-old, and I was hardly stingy with the tokens. Also, they get progressively cheaper ($20 gets you 90 tokens, for instance), so that's nice. I haven't been to a Chuck E. Cheese since the late 80's, but it doesn't seem like very much has changed. The games seem to skew a bit younger -- I'd say most of them are best for the 4 - 11 crowd. There were a few games that would be more enjoyable for 12 - adult, but they were sparse. The animatronic Chuck E. Cheese was there, though his band from the 80's has been replaced by video-based characters. It isn't as cool, and at this location, the video screens are old rear-projection TV's -- more than half of which were obviously broken. In the two hours we were there, someone dressed as Chuck E. Cheese came out once, and couldn't have been on the floor for more than five minutes. Frankly, I don't know why they bothered with it. Midway through our visit, I thought a kid had barfed on one of the rides. Upon scanning the vicinity, I discovered that the smell was someone's pizza being brought to their table. Eew. There was an issue with my card. Tried to reach corporate they had me on the phone for over 40 minutes and decided they would send me a check in the mail. Experience at Chuck E Cheese- SHORT STAFFED - CANNOT TAKE CARE OF ONE BIRTHDAY PARTY ON A WEEK DAY My son's 5th birthday booked on a Monday between 7PM and 9Pm - we were asked to be there 15 Minutes early .Our orders were taken at 7.15 Pm - Play passes were given at 7.30 PM- We were supposed to have a Host to take care of party orders/needs and be present through out the 2 hour period- she did not and was in the kitchen helping as there was only one person preparing food The person managing the entry gate took breaks to go to the back and dress up as Chuckee Pizza did not arrive on time- - First pizza arrived at 8.40 PM -No balloons on the table - even though they were ordered a week earlier -I had to ask for the cake - arrived after we cut our own cake( Luckily I had ordered a cake from outside ) Most of the children were complaining about the non-availability of food on time Party place was short staffed - There was no other Birthday parties scheduled for that evening Our family came home and had Domino's Pizza at 11 PM Very disappointing - will never have a party / or recommend to any one in the future- Located 3 Minutes from our sub- Division I did bring this up with the Guest relations read more

Okay so I am gonna let everyone know how Gross chuck e cheese really is. I used to work here and recently just quit. I saw bugs all the time in the kitchen, the kitchen smelled like dead animal, the salad bar products would be expired/rotten/moldy you name it, the kitchen staff didn't wet gloves or hairnets, the chuck e costume was never cleaned, basically the place is disgusting! I would see food that is always expired and because of that we had kids getting food poising. The health inspector has been in 3 times just in the last month because our first inspection was so bad. Also the garbage sits in a hallway in our kitchen before it is taken out. Also the kid play structure isn't cleaned at all. Please I warn you do not take your kids here they will get sick!
