I brought my four year old grandson to Safari Playground last week. First I need to mention that, until recently, I owned a family restaurant for 25 years. So I know the good, the bad and the ugly. I have high standards, but always understand when things aren't quite right. Safari didn't need my understanding! This place is excellent! Extremely clean play area, dining area, and bathrooms. Our lunch was delicious, a huge step above typical children's venues. ( think Fattoush salad and grilled chicken!) My grandson had a fabulous time climbing and making new friends! I've had parties here before and they turned out great. But they have a new policy. "20% Gratuity will be added to all parties". So a medium sized party of 15 plus food makes it around $600 without tip. That makes gratuity $120 to 1 waitress for two hours. She will be making $60+ per hour for our table alone on top of other tips/wages/parties they are running. How ridiculous is that? Gratuity tax makes Safari party prices much more expensive than other establishments in the area. I'm sure they will lose a lot of customers because of this. read more

My son loved the play zone. It's a good place to bring your kids to, especially to provide some activity during the cold months. My only concern was that there was only one individual working at the facility both days I was there. I didn't see the employee wipe or clean anything down while I was there for a few hours. While I didn't use the restroom, my husband did and said the bathrooms were dirty. Some of the leather items in the play zone were ripped as well. But as long as my kid was happy I was happy. read more

We rented the entire facility for my son's 1st birthday party, and I couldn't have picked a better place! There's plenty of space, and the venue had something for everyone - lazer tag, arcade games, and an indoor climb structure. Food was amazing and generously served. They have a great play structure, a lot of arcade games, delicious food, awesome laser tag, a great sized private party room, and great customer service. If I could give zero I would. We have been here in the past but it has definitely gone down hill. Many areas that are barely zip tied to protect kids from falling through. Has a gross odor. Play area looks like it never gets cleaned. And on top of that no one pays attention to the people in the climbing area. Multiple kids bare foot and adults! All climbing through the structure. We went for a birthday party on a Sunday afternoon. The place was packed! There were multiple parties and families everywhere. The main reason for my 5 star review is the very patient and kind employees. Despite all the chaos and children all over the place, they all seemed to be handling everything really well and everyone we encountered was so friendly. The pizza and wings were very good. It's really nice. Clean. Fun. Had my 2 and 4 yr old for $5 to play on the playground. Everything great but one very important flaw...no locking gate to keep the tots contained and I normally love automatic doors but with no gates, a kid can easily run out into the streets. I'm so happy I found this place! Clean, super kind staff, fun for my kid. We went late on a Sunday afternoon and it was busy but not crazy. Everything seemed smooth and staff were STILL happy and nice that late in the day ;) Fun array of games, the life size space invader game was a huge hit with my 4 year old. I told my little dude it was time for some pizza and he promptly yelled "nevahhhh!"....ran back into the playground. Pure joy for my little dude equals super happy mom. Food was fine (salad bar was closed) nice beverage choice. I especially love the bottles of sanitizer and hand washing station as you're leaving! I'm by no means a germaphobe but let's face it, kids are gross this time of year and we are too by association. ;) We will be back on a weekday to have even more fun. Here's the scoop: on a crummy, snowy, icky day...the choices are few. Here or home? Here works. In the summer it might be different. In the winter, it is clean (like in a kid playground kind of way), the food is good and the combos are $5, and it does the trick. Today we went to kill a few hours and "won" a plastic snake. If you didn't have a kid under 7, you could totally find a different hangout. But since you do, the weather sucks, and if you are reading this... you likely need an energy outlet, go spend the $10 and pray for a nap like I do. A friend booked a birthday party for her daughter but because of the recent corona virus pandemic had to cancel the reservation. Would not refund deposit. Perhaps this is their policy, which is understandable if the cancellation was the day of the party or something like that, but it was at least 2 weeks away. NOPE nothing! But what makes matters worse, emails inquiring about a refund have been ignored. No contact whatsoever. Terrible business practices! Even strict adherence to a policy without even responding to emails is just unprofessional and shows blatant disregard for customers! Airlines, hotels, resorts, restaurants, sporting events, wedding venues... ALL have been offering refunds! Not the management / ownership of this establishment! We had our boy's birthday party here this past Sunday! And it was awesome. We rented the lions den. And ordered pizza with 12 kids and laser tag. Also included tokens for the kids to play in the arcade games. The service was exceptional. The waitress was very helpful. And was very attentive to our party. Man. I wish this place wasn't so far away from me!! You know when you go to Chuck E' Cheese and you just feel like it has never been clean and it is just crawling with germs - HELLO GROSS?? Safari Playground is nothing like that. The have a collection of games that give you tickets (like that other place) and then they also have a great playground area (kind of like jungle java). Wanna just zone out while your kid plays (no judging) - there is a lounge area in the back with chairs and tv. They also have a wide range of food - and its good! Salad bar, hand tossed pizza, ice cream, slushies - etc. Plenty of pickings for the kids and the adults. My kids had so much fun and didn't want to leave. It was also not busy at all so we pretty much had the run of the place. Oh did I mention that its CLEAN?? My only issue is that there is no gated area to keep the kids in and the doors are automatic. So if your kid wandered off they could totally just walk right into the parking lot - thats a big deal that needs to be fixed ASAP. Overall we had a great time and even though its over 30 minutes from me I can totally see us returning in the future. read more

The manager there was very helpful and informative on the phone regarding to picking out the right party packages. The hostess was very friendly and was on top with refilling our pitchers and bringing out our food on time. This place seriously rocks for kids. I was introduced to Safari via a birthday for my friend's son in January. The pizza was great and the pitchers of pop kept coming. The kids were beyond entertained. Since the party in January, I've taken my kids here at least once a week. The playground is excellent, even old me can play in it. Coffee of many different favors are on the menu and GOOD. Safari has free wifi, comfortable sitting, GREAT staff, VERY clean, bathrooms are well lit and taken care of, and a BOWLING alley for kids. My kids had a lot of fun, but as a parent I was a little disgusted by the state of the facility. It has obviously gone downhill since the above review in 2009! *The bathrooms were disgustingly dirty (rings in toilets, floors matted with dirt and dust...), *one trash can available that I could see in the front dining area and instead of it being by the tables where everyone eats it was by the cash register area so you had to walk over a matt at the end of the slide to get to it, *cappuccino/hot chocolate machine out of order as were several of the soda fountain drinks *the temperature was like a freezer in there (hence being upset about no hot chocolate!) As mentioned, my kids had fun but all I could think about was if it was so dirty in the bathrooms I wonder what the inside of the play area was like? If it were better kept I'd have given it a 5 star rating, I believe the poor girls working were understaffed and a third or fourth employee could have been useful to look around the gym area and help clean. read more

This place is a nice alternative to your Chuck E. Cheese. It's clean and quite a large space. They have two areas, a play ground and an arcade area. Playground is $7 and doing a combo of playground and arcade is $10. Playground area is quite large, there are s bunch of activities that the kids can do, slides, climbing, handing, ropes, zip line etc. suggested age is 4 and older. The dining area is huge, they have an area in the back that could def support a big party. Tables in the front are good for parties as well. Decoration is good, they have animals hanging from the ceiling, Safari theme is everywhere so that's cool. They have some seating for adults in the play area so you can keep tabs on the kids. I feel like some of these arcade games are complicated for these kids but once you walk through them they can get a hang of it. I like the fact that they have hand sanitizer everywhere. I love the little sink near the drinks area, perfect for washing hands before and after eating. Menu is big, they only have one size of pizza and you can do cheese or pepperoni. Bread sticks, cheese breads, calzones, sliders, fries, onion rings, chicken nuggets or fingers etc. if you need a place of kids to come and let loose and burn their energy this is s good place to come too. I took two of the girls I care for here today and was pretty impressed! The price for the play structure is $7/child, which isn't horrible. Tokens and food, on the other hand, I found to be a little steep. We ate lunch beforehand and had a snack in the car on the way home instead of buying overpriced food/drinks. For those parents/caregivers with older children (5+ years), there were plenty of games and even bowling to take part in, but I had a two and three year old, so we mostly were in the play area. We stayed for two hours and the girls didn't want to leave after that, so I'd call Safari Playground a great find! As a caregiver, my favorite things about it were the cleanliness and the fact that it wasn't overcrowded- I didn't worry about germs as much and it was easy to keep an eye on the kids. First off let me say that there is no way this place will ever stay in business with such a horrible and rude manager. We were here for a large birthday party and I simply politely asked for a cup with a lid on it, because so many of the young kids were spilling their drinks. I asked one of the employees who went to grab me a cup, and the manager abruptly stops her, at that point, I'm told there are no cups with lids available (even though I can clearly see that there are). So I ask another employee and actually offer to pay for the cup and lid. The manager again steps in and says I would need to pay $3 to get an empty cup with a lid to put water in. He said that was the cost with them for slushies. I explained I was there for a Birthday Party and that I was putting in drinks from the Birthday Party- no slushies at all. He rudely goes- "That's company policy, and we spend $3 for the cost of each cup." Shocked I reply- "There is no way you pay $3 for each cup, that seems really high. But I am not spending that much, so no thanks." Later as I am speaking to someone else I tell a mother- "Be careful, your child spilled their drink on the floor, you may want to move your stuff." He rudely goes "OH IT"S FINE!" I was not speaking to this jerk and it really isn't fine that everyone's things are getting soaked because young kids can not get a simple cup with a lid on it. Luckily our waitress saw how upset I was, apologized for her horrible managers behavior, and brought us a cup. The staff has good customer service skills, but the manager needs to be replaced if this place is going to last. PS- I looked up the same cups on Amazon and they were quantity of 100 20 oz cups with lids for $23, so about 23 cents a cup. I would have totally been willing to pay 50 cents to a $1 for a cup, but $3 is so unreasonable. Needless to say the manager left a horrible impression on the party of probably 60 people and most likely these people won't be back. Hope it was worth all the horrible reviews and missed future business. read more
