I've only ever been to this Chuck E. Cheese's as an adult since I became a mother a little over two years ago. FOOD: I appreciate the unlimited salad bar for a healthy option. My family enjoys the pizza but it's very greasy so I suggest patting it with a napkin first. But let's be honest, we don't choose to go to this place for the food. Let's get to the most important parts of this establishment: GAMES/RIDES: They are often broken. The little train ride took my "points" and then didn't move. I had to manually push this heavy train around in circles. This was fixed the last time I was here but it still didn't make it the entire way around the loop. The ski-ball games were all messed up last time I was there, though, and a few other games had sloppily hand-written "out of order" signs on them. Otherwise, there's a wide variety of types of games/rides so that's cool. SAFETY/CLEANLINESS: I do have to hand it to them for having safeguards in place to reduce any anxiety one might have about losing their child. Goodness knows I think the sun rises and sets in my son's big brown eyes and I couldn't imagine why anyone wouldn't want to steal him. I'm happy that they stamp the hands of each group so that the children leave with the correct family. This is nice. As far as cleanliness, I really don't think I can have very high expectations in a place like this. The carpets are terribly stained and look filthy. My son had a meltdown and threw himself on the carpeted floor (like all toddlers do now and then) and I was disgusted by the thought of his face being near that carpet. Ew. The bathrooms were ok but there were used paper towels all over outside the overfilled trash can. CUSTOMER SERVICE: The employees all seem to work hard and care about their jobs. I did get a few smiles out of them but it's pretty dry. I'm sure they deal with a lot of craziness throughout their shifts so I have to give them a lot of credit for their patience. I will say, however, that some extra personality and "fluff" would go a long way with some customers (like me). :) Overall, a decent experience. If the games were all in great working order, the floors weren't so dirty, and the bathrooms were kept in order, I'd be happy to add a star or two. read more

Yes are they practicing a few protocols absolutely, but are they hustling and providing customer service which is above and beyond for a business that wants to be open and or is extremely grateful to their constituents for keeping them open AH NO!!!!!! Went today on a Monday for my sons birthday today! Going in the beginning of the week is the best time to go, hardly anyone there. My boys, grandma and I had a wonderful experience! The place was very clean, food looked cooked, the lady working the front was very attentive to our needs and we didn't wait long for boys to get their prizes. -1 star because 2 games were down and still took our points, eh it happens and my boys still got plenty of tickets. We just had our daughter's 6th birthday here and had the best experience. Our assigned coordinator, Kendall(?), took the best care of our party and made my daughter feel extra special. He was so patient and kind, I can't say enough about what a great job he did with my small group. We will definitely be back! Thank you Kendall! PS I remember Chucky Cheese when I was young and I'm really surprised and pleased by how much they've changed, and for the better. I'm so disappointed from last experience here. Spent $83 on 2 pizzas, 2 salads and 4 drinks. The pizzas had hardly any cheese on them, like really no cheese. So they didnt really want to eat them and most of the drinks were out as well. The manager was pleasant and filled the salad bar when requested but just sad to see spending so much for nothing now. Half the games are even ot of order. Can't even get a pass for games with food anymore just a discount. The most disgusting CEC I've ever been to. When we got here on a Sunday at 4:15, there are two clean tables. Most of the tables were empty, but none of the workers cleaned off tables so you could sit at a clean table. All you can eat salad bar? Empty...for 45 minutes. When it was filled, it was filled by the cashier. Same cashier had her hair out of a bun. Mind you, pretty hair, but I don't want it in my salad. With so many negative reviews, I felt the need to give a review of my positive experience today. My family of 5 arrived shortly after 5:00 pm today. We were immediately greeted by a female employee who let us in after stamping everyone. We were then greeted by an equally friendly male cashier. The place was super clean & there were plenty of empty tables. We haven't been to this location in a while because it was always packed & there was usually trash on the tables so we didn't know if they were occupied or not. Chuck E Cheese's, every parents dream afternoon. Really tho this one in Escondido is clean, well maintained with fun games and helpful staff. I've been to chuckee cheese where the staff looked like they wanted to kill you for asking questions but this staff was friendly and kind. You can see into the kitchen from where I sat to eat and it looked spotless in there as well. I went in today with some family including two kids, and was very disappointed. The service was absolutely terrible. We had to stand in line for about fifteen minutes just to order the pizza and get the game cards, simply because the group ahead of us had about a million questions and the staff didn't bother to open another register until we complained to the manager. There were numerous tables that needed cleaning, and I didn't see one get cleared off the whole time we were there (we cleaned our own in order to sit down.) The food took forever to get to our table (once again, had to complain to get it done). It wasn't even very crowded. We come here often and always have a good experience and still did today however, I was extremely disappointed today when we left that no one was around to check our stamps to make sure we are leaving with our kid. They gave me attitude from the second I walked in. Zero customer service. Go take a class in customer service and save the lip service. Tried to talk to the manager and ended up calming her down because I did not want my kids day to go sour. But it did anyway....because these people are rude and inexperienced. 25 kids - they gave me one inexperienced overwhelmed person to manage 25 kids. The parents (guests) had to dish out all the food and pour all the drinks. $800 and 25 kids.... just imagine doing all that stuff in the chaos of chucky cheese all by yourself. SMH...... I ordered the cake from them with a Chucky Cheese edible screen. Literally 5 minutes before the birthday song the overwhelmed employee comes to tell me they do not have the screen and if I would like to just add sprinkles. $800 party and no management oversight .... Balloons. The birthday kid is supposed to get the balloons with this party. The ones he had were not secured properly and flew away into the air conditioning system. They gave me replacements - two of the replacement balloons were flat. $800 dollar party..... When you pay this much money to have this many people attend an event you are absolutely correct to expect the best service - 25 kids, 800 bucks and the party totally sucked. Chuck E Cheese is good and bad. 3 stars seems about fair. I'll start with the good. I think it's great they stamp hands. Always have loved that! To ensure children are leaving with right adults. Safety is so important! Video games have def advanced since from when I was little and their pizza has majorly improved. I wouldn't say it's amazing or anything but it used to be just horrible. What I didn't like that a lot of people might disagree is the card scanning system instead of tokens. I noticed it was a bit difficult for kids to figure out or it wasn't working. The ticket eating machine is super cool and way better than back in the day counting them all but it seems to jam or break easy. Last night 1 or 4 was working. The prizes are really dumb toys that i am sure cost Chuck E Cheese pennies to purchase and costs you a ton of money in game credits. They should really have better prizes with all the money adults put in. But then maybe they wouldn't be as successful as they are now so I guess that's business. read more

Worst experience ever. Do not go if you are a fan of Chucky Cheese. I thought bringing my daughter for a nice lunch and some fun would be a great place to come apparently not. First when my 4 year old thought Chucky would come out after counting down and getting excited, instead the manager just grab a hand full of tickets and threw them on the floor, not Chucky. My toddler and I have been coming this location for almost a year (about once a week for a couple of hours). The place is clean enough so I don't worry too much about germs, although I make sure to wash and sanitize his hands frequently. Sometimes the staff members are scarce and we wait a while to get help, but always friendly. Sometimes the tickets dispenser is empty, there are games that are temporarily out of service, the buffett is ok, but my toddler always has fun, so we go to this location. We celebrated his 2nd birthday in March and the staff memebers who assisted was were amazing. A couple of months ago they got a handful of new games which was a nice surprise. read more
