The party details were clearly written out and there were plenty of available dates and time slots. I did not have any issues to reserve for a 4 pm Sunday party for 24 children. On the day of the party, we arrived 30 minutes early to unload our car and set up the outside food and snacks, and party favors. There are two separate sections for check-ins, one was party attendees and the other was for general admissions. There was a small wait because there was no staff checking people in for parties and two staff were checking in for general admissions. Regardless, we were able to check in and my girls were able to enjoy the play areas while I set up the party. To save time, I highly recommend for parents to remember to sign the waivers beforehand. The food arrived in a relatively timely manner. The staff needed reminders to bring out the utensils and napkins but otherwise she was helpful. We had a good time and did not feel rushed.

With elevation changes abound, you are sure to get a workout chasing your child all around this large park. Be careful not to pull a calf muscle on the various inclines. For those not familiar with Burr Ridge, the location is obscure. Tucked in an odd corner near County Line Rd and I-55. there is an industrial district, residential and an odd electrical power station surrounding the park. It's worth the drive to give your kids a different park experience.

While we understood that activities were "subject to change," we expected an experience that closely reflected what was advertised. Our daughter was by far the oldest child in her group, and I wish there had been more age-appropriate grouping or activities. She came home each day underwhelmed, which was especially disappointing because she had been counting down the days until camp. The biggest issue was that many of the advertised activities felt much more basic than they appeared. There was far less hands-on interaction with the animals than we expected. Instead of an immersive farm or horse experience, it often felt more like observing, listening, or completing simple crafts. For example, "making parakeet sticks" meant feeding the birds with sticks that were already prepared, and "making a goat piñata" consisted of stuffing a pre-made paper-mâché piñata. She also told us that "learning to milk a cow" involved squeezing a rubber glove attached to a wooden calf with blue-colored liquid inside. While these activities may be enjoyable for younger children, they felt geared toward a much younger age group than our 9-year-old. One thing I did appreciate was the check-in and check-out process. The staff had a clear system that made drop-off and pick-up feel organized and secure. My biggest suggestion would be to make the advertising more representative of what campers actually do. A day-by-day sample itinerary or more photos and videos of children participating in the actual activities would help parents make an informed decision. We chose this camp over others because of the detailed activity descriptions, and the reality simply didn't match the expectations they created.

It is not an issue for older children but it can be a challenge for younger ones. With the more recent birthday party, the hosts opted for a private 2.5 hour session and it was a lot more comfortable. The party had approximately 50 people. Our children were able to venture and explore at their own comfort and with plenty of space to jump, bounce, and run. I am unsure if FunFlatables has the option to cater food but the hosts brought pizza, fruits, cookies, soft drinks, juice, and birthday cake. Our party had at least six plastic picnic tables so there were enough seating for everyone. The venue is relatively clean. There are two all gender bathrooms. For a private party with a controlled capacity, that is adequate. If they have open play and/or birthday parties with a lot of attendees, that might not be adequate. Most children in the midst of fun tend to wait till the last minute to indicate they have to use the bathroom so you might want to plan ahead!

Most importantly, our daughter feels like she has found a second home at Big. The girls have a great sense of team and the environment is filled with fun, spirit days, dance offs, parades, team pride and friendships across levels. My daughter is learning what I view as important life lessons in discipline, hard work, overcoming obstacles, confidence and friendship. Great job Big!
