Such a cute indoor play space for toddlers and little kids. We'll definitely be coming back soon and hopefully get to enjoy one of the many events they also host geared specifically to kiddos!

Not many people were there for the entire time. Many left at 2 hours or less. Three tips: wear socks. Sign the waiver. Park in the lot on Calendar. Street parking is two hours only.

In the case of Jump Town, the answer to all 3 is: YES When you walk in, you'll remove your shoes, sign a waiver and pay your entry fee ($13 during the week, $15 on weekends). What's nice is that the price includes two free adults per child. Inside, you'll find massive bounce houses and trampolines designed to burn off all that preschool energy. Everything is free with the exception of a couple of video games or air hockey. There's a small room in the back with some building materials for kids who like to do that. There's a small fenced-in area with small play structures for really little kids. They do have a snack stand available, but you can bring your own food. They have 2 women's bathrooms and 1 for men. There are party rooms available. I think the right age for this place is 3-6. When we were there on a Sunday, there were a couple of bigger kids who don't really know how to watch out for little ones, so if your kid is on the small side, you might need to keep a close eye on them. If you'd like to save money, you can get a 10-pack of visits for $100. You'll probably be back, so this is a great value, especially if you have more than one kid.

A holy-grail destination for summer days with kids. They have a lazy river full of innertubes, and giant 2.5 foot deep pool with a play structure and various splashing items, plus a splash pad, and a junk food concession. It is neither a real swimming pool nor a water park. Not a real swimming pool because the deepest part of the pool is 2.5 feet deep. Not a water park because there's no actual waterslide, though there is a slide ... into the water -- if you grasp the distinction I'm making. But as a consequence this means that you can feel much more comfortable giving even young kids a decent amount of freedom (obviously not too much! be safe!) and generating the kind of wet, chlorinated, hot, happy, exhausted summer day that you may have grown up with as a kid. Chicago is a big city of rich amenities, so there are not a ton of things that I say are clearly worth a 45 minute drive from my house, but this is one of them.

There are ropes to hold to but the little daredevil in her would just run across so it is important to be watchful of the child and be sure they won't trip and fall through the ropes. 2) The whole playground has a rubbery ground so it is very comfortable and safe. 3) There is a splash pad in between the toddler and older children sections. I am uncertain when it actually turns on. We have been twice, once at 9 AM and a second time at 3:30 PM. It was on in the afternoon and several kids were running in and out of the splash pad. It's a great option to have when it's hot and sunny out. 4) There are six tennis courts nearby and this works out perfectly for our preschooler to squeeze in a tennis session with her daddy before or after the playgrounds. Cons: 1) Not a con at all - But the playground is so vast that I can barely capture the whole frame in one picture!

At the "V" we consider ourselves more than a pool; it is really a place in the neighborhood where our member families can enjoy the summer! Just like any organization, we have some things that require maintenance like the pool, the grounds and our clubhouse. Over the past 2 years, we needed to put in place a "special assessment" that would allow us not only to improve the pool facilities, but to enhance the experience of our club through a renovated pool house, improved landscaping to our grounds and a clean and safe pool. I would encourage any existing, new or future members to come and see the architectural plans we will be executing on our pool house this year, they are remarkable! I think that you will find as although we have a focused improvement plan on the above areas, we also continue to focus on improving the overall experience for our member families. The "V" has a long standing reputation as a positive environment in our community and for our member families, we will continue to grow and foster this reputation. We realize that what we provide may not appeal to everyone but also know that the our communal grill area, scenic grounds, competitive swim team, social activities for both adults and kids, affordability and general fellowship do appeal to many families in our community. Another issue is the lack of supervision when it comes to bullying. There have been several occasions where older or more aggressive kids were pushing, cutting in line, or being unkind to younger children without any staff stepping in. The playground itself has potential, but I hope management puts more focus on cleanliness and creating a safer, more welcoming environment for all kids.

ONCE UPON A TIME.......IN LOMBARD…read more This beloved indoor entertainment center is still hanging in there after 40+ years. I'll admit, I didn't have "attend a work outing at Enchanted Castle" on my 2025 bingo card, yet here we are. I found myself reminiscing about birthdays from the past, how many tokens I spent here as a preteen, and what on earth I was doing at a kids entertainment center with a group of engineers. As they've been since 1983, Enchanted Castle on Roosevelt Rd in Lombard is a one-stop shop for fun. They have party rooms, a large arcade with ticket counter and 7-8 different attractions. It's like a bigger version of Chuck E Cheese with a medieval theme, a Dave & Busters aimed at kiddos. You can pay for things a la carte, or get a $40 "max pack" that gets you a $15 game card and access to any 3 attractions. Our large group hit up the arcade, mini golf, laser tag, and go karts. One staffer helped us out during our time here, and kudos to her for being patient when we couldn't make up our minds on what to do next. I'll start with the best: the go karts ($9/pp). Although the track itself is small and not terribly exciting, these go karts were peppy and handled well. You get a decent number of laps, too, and it must be popular enough to warrant having its own dedicated entrance off to the right - Castle Karts. Next came laser tag ($9/pp). The packs seemed heavy, but the guns were very accurate IMO. It was a 'capture the flag' objective and despite a small arena, there was just enough space to move around. They also have Route 66 mini bowling ($5/pp), bumper cars ($5/pp), a scaled down 'Scrambler' type ride ($5/pp), and a playground area with slides ($5/kid). The glow in the dark Black Knight's "Adventure" Golf ($7/pp) was the weak link of the bunch. 9 holes of poorly lit, uninspired putt putt with odd scenery choices - they couldn't decide between skeletons or squires - and lazy hole design led to several in our group bailing partway through. One girl even twisted her ankle walking around an obstacle! This is an area that could definitely benefit from a facelift or new attraction. Back in the 90's and early 2000's, Enchanted Castle had a 3D motion theater that played several iWerks films like Dino Island, Alpha One Cowboy, and Red Rock Run. This wild motion simulator was always the highlight of my visit, but I can't find ANY record of it in web archives..... was this a fever dream?? Their arcade has a mix of new and old, lots of ticket redemption games with flashy shoot-em-ups sprinkled in. They had Beat Saber VR (for a whopping 24 credits) as well as some vintage games like the one where you use an air cannon to shoot out the clown's teeth. Many years ago, they had a dedicated area for pinball machines....now they have none. *sigh* I expected very little from the food and was pleasantly surprised. The italian beef ($12) was pretty good, no complaints about the fries. The large appetizer platter ($40) had a little bit of everything: 7 mozza stix, 7 wings, 7 tenders, 12 mini tacos, and 8 pretzel sticks with dipping sauces. They also had beer on tap @ $6.50 per pint, not too bad. * TL;DR * Enchanted Castle is supposed to be for young'ins, but if you have fun here as a grown-up I won't tell anyone. Being in business for 43 years is no small feat, especially when you consider the sweeping effect COVID had on the realm of indoor entertainment. I'm amazed (and relieved) that Enchanted Castle's drawbridge has stayed open despite so much volatility in the world. I don't imagine that the handful of folks we saw on a Thursday afternoon is representative of how much foot traffic EC actually gets. Here's to hoping they have many more years ahead of them, making joyful memories for scores of kids in the western Chicago suburbs. I'd hate to see an indelible part of my childhood be gone for good.
