Bakery & baked goods review, it's not a review for the whole store. We've gotten their cakes for various occasions. I really enjoy them, very tasty & never dry! This Walmart location is on my way to work so I'll stop in the morning for muffins, coffee cakes & cookies for the office. Everything is always a hit with nothing left over! The garland we ordered was to be pre-lite and thicker than the JUNK they sent to us. We wanted to get some better garland for decorating our house next year and pricing was good. Check their website to see what we purchased. (Kepooman 33FT Prelit Holiday Garland Greenery Outdoor Lighted Pine Garland, Holiday Garland, Mantle Garland) The JUNK they sent could be purchased at $1 store for you guessed it, one dollar. Walmart charged over $22 for these and returned the next day after getting them. What a waste of our time, not again in near future. read more

Parking is horrible. Be careful parking your car, as the spaces are quite narrow. Associates are clearly not happy and not very friendly. Bathrooms are disgusting! Maintenance does not check on the condition of the bathrooms often enough. The bathrooms often have debris on the floors, overflowing toilets and literal feces smeared on toilet seats and walls. read more

SHOUT OUT TO JUSTIN who went above and beyond to help me Tuesday (10/8) night. He stopped what he was doing to go find someone with a key for the locked case. Then he showed me where the call button was to alert a manager. I ran into him again and he asked me if someone helped me. Which they did! 12.1.2020 I tried the pickup option for this store for a black Friday pickup first they gave me mess about downloading their app then I waited another 10 minutes to be directed to another part of the parking lot just to sit there another 25 minutes without any one bringing out a frigging video game. Please see my previous review prior to reading this one. This is more of an update/ continuation. A lot has changed, yet a lot has stayed the same. Mostly for the customer, for the worst. Now the cosmetics department locks its area at 9pm. This Walmart seems to be going downhill, not sure what's going on but it's not helping the customer. I use to be able to get in and out of this store in no time, now for some reason they close the self check out lanes around 10:30-11pm, which is a huge inconvenience for the customer. As I type this, every line in the store has over 10 customers in line waiting to be checked out because the self checkout lane is closed. I'm not sure what's going on with this store but I hope it's fixed soon. Also, as I stated in my previous review, this store always seems to be out of stock. They don't have the one item I came here for. They are completely out of 2 things I needed. My only suggestion, come here before 9pm if you can, and if you have to, call ahead. read more

Yesterday, I had to stop at my local Walmart Hodgkins with my 10 year old who needed a T-shirt for school as all kids wait until last minute right?! lol. I went in grabbed a few other items and she saw some pants that she wanted to try on for school. Me thinking, fine we are here, no big deal. It was approximately 10:20PM, and I told her she could try them on as one of the fitting room doors was open. Again, it is getting late, I worked my normal job which I am up at 5:00 AM for, I had also just finished coaching a 2 hour practice which got out at 9:30 PM, I am responding to work emails/texts, normal people stuff. Anyways, my daughter asked me for a different size, so I walked away to grab them Right quick. When I came back, there were two older women (employees) speaking to my daughter as she had the door cracked open. When I approach them to see what was going on, one employee was super aggressive. Yelling that the fitting room closed at 10 PM and that I needed to hurry up because she needed to clean the room. (She literally had one pair of yoga pants in there, but okay I get it.) There are no signs posted on the doors, and the door was open. Not unlocked, physically open. I apologized telling her we didn't know and that I do not shop there like that, but I will get her to change and come out. I apologized a few times, but that was not good enough and she just kept repeating "It closed at 10:00PM". When I asked for the employee's name (Eranda) she threw her hands up at me telling me "WHAT, WHAT are you going to do." Shocked, I took a step back and said, "I am going to Speak to a manager of course." She then again kept yelling that the fitting room closed at 10 PM and we needed to hurry up. My daughter was already putting her stuff back on so we could leave, and she comes out, and the employee then. turns to me yelling "ARE YOU DONE? are you done? " as she slammed the door shut. Now I am irritated, I said " Do not speak to me like that in front of my child! And yes I am f*ucking done, do you see her in there?" Seriously! I have never been so mad! How frickin rude! I understand they have a policy, I had already apologized and told my daughter to just change so we can leave. I am not sure what the employees issue was and why she thought that behavior was okay. The store wasn't closing yet, and there was nothing to clean in the fitting room. I went to speak to a manger up front who was very nice and suggested I call corporate. I suggested they go back and look at their cameras! She was out of pocket for sure. This one definitely sent me over the edge last night, causing me to lose character. Now I know why I prefer Target over Walmart Hodgkins! read more

This place is open for 24 hours from Monday to Sunday. Buying some goods in the middle of the night to avoid the early morning rush is not a problem. If you are far from Walmart, you can request your items to be delivered, and their delivery services are crazy fast. I've been to this Wal Mart on a couple of occasions for a variety of reasons. My recent visit, we were told by the gun store behind it that they sold shot gun ammo. In which case they didn't but I was surprised they sold ammo in general. The store is clean for the most part besides that. The store is super huge and there's a lot of good stuff you could find. If you can't find what you need, there's a Sam's club (which is owned by Walmart) right next door! The lines at Walmart are hectic at times And the people could be pretty out of the ordinary but truthfully it is one of the better Walmarts I've been too. read more

Lived around the area and have been going to this Walmart for about 3 1/2 years. People are so dramatic and selfish when it comes to reviews because they only review the 1/100 times they don't get the best of the best service. For this last few years, I haven't had a whole lot of issues with the majority of things. Buying and checkout is super simple and easy. Ive been plenty of times when errors on checkout occur. I was also helped by a friendly costumer service member named Alexa who helped me resolve an issue I had with a product I bought recently. A lot of times it depends on how your own attitude is, be kind and respectful and they will do the best of their ability to help you out. Don't use that entitlement mentality. I shop at this Walmart often because the groceries are cheaper than other stores like Jewel. However the employees always clog up the isles and today was no different,(see picture) 2 employees stocking in the same isle and not cleaning up after themselves. Negative 5 stars! This Walmart(supercenter #1892)is not operating in a legal matter. To start with they have advertised prices online (at Walmart.com) that do not ring up in store at the advertised price and then the clerk will tell you that "they cannot price match" as the store manager does not allow it. It's not price matching if the store's website lists a price, that should be the price! This is called false advertisement or bait and switch which is completely illegal. If your website says an item is one price then honor that price and quit trying to rip off your customers. Secondly, since the price was apparently "online only" even though online it said it was the "in store" price. I decided to place the order via the Walmart app. I was ordering two of the particular item I was trying to purchase in store for the low price shown online. So I placed the order for a quantity of two. The order was processed and I received an email claiming that only one of the items were available so that I would only be receiving one of the two I ordered. Now I knew this was not true as I was just in the store and saw more than 10 of them on the shelf. So I decided to place yet another online order for another one of the items and the order went through and I was able to pick up both of the items from the two different orders. So obviously when I received an email claiming that one of the items was not available it was a false claim. Meaning that now the store is falsifying inventory numbers which is also completely illegal. I'm not sure who is running this store but they will need to be looked at a LOT closer as they are not operating in a moral or legal manner. Always take a photo of Rollback prices for the cashier so you don't have to wait on a price check. It rang up$12.98 and I showed the cashier the photo. She only saw the $12.98 in the photo. I asked her to look at the LARGE ROLLBACK price. Saves time if you have a photo. read more

We were there yesterday HELLO it's Christmas‼ Schedule some cashiers. There's probably 20 registers check outs... TWO were open ‼‼ TWO‼ Lines all over the place. Huge lines at the self check out. There's about 10 stations ... people had to check themselves out. I've been in retail for many years and I realize that the managers get a BONUS for coming under their budgets. So what's happening is we're going there as customers ... the manager making money and we do the checkouts.... customers act as employees. WHY? My husband is going through chemo we stop there to do a lot of shopping. Did not expect to have to wait in line and all the aggravation for at least 20 minutes. It was exhausting. This is a very solid WalMart. I get my prescriptions here because the pharmacy staff is top rate. Thus I'm in this store about twice a month or more. The drawback here (and most every WalMart on earth) is that the stock of products is not consistent. If there is a high volume item you purchase often it helps to find out when it's delivered as you may find an empty shelf when you visit. At least the employees here are often friendly and are happy to give you the answer or find someone who can. In the Pharmacy I've had great experiences with most every pharmacy tech and they always go out of their way to answer a question or solve a problem. If you don't like to wait in line at the front of the store it's best to try going in the off hours like 11pm or 7am. You will likely have three to six people in line in front of you at most other times. read more

I absolutely love Walmart supercenters because of their huge stores and how they have everything. My experience at this particular one was not terrible, but it definitely was not a walk in the park. I came here for a few toiletries and some regular self-care products, but they didn't seem to have a lot of the things that I needed. I was very upset because I was counting on this supercenter to have more items than other Walmarts, but it was not the case. The remodel is beautiful. Navigating the store is very easy even when it's crowded.

Be aware of this location this walmart supercenter currently is not following covid-19 guidelines & are letting employees work sick & without a mask. I have been here plenty of times & since then nothing has changed in many cases you can closely see employees congregating in close contact without masks. Many of them have been showing covid-19 symptoms & have still been allowed to work which puts others & most importantly customers at risk from being exposed to the virus. So I urge those who frequently shop at this walmart location or any other to carefully choose where you shop Do at your own risk just be aware that you may be exposed to the virus if you come to this location. read more

This store is actually a little farther for me then Bridgeview Walmart...but Bridgeview Walmart is like the House of Horrors. Saturday store already open at 7:00 am. I got inline to enter the store to send money. Customer service desk is open at 10:00 am. What a waste of time. Why is a problem taking care customer at 8:00 am or so. In this case they are better off close the desk and fire desk workers go unemployment. No help at all. read more

Yeah, it's your standard Walmart. Same layout, same merchandise, "Supercenter" selling groceries, etc. Times I have been there, it's clean, not cluttered and busy. It's located in a mall with a variety of other small and large stores as well, including a Target at the opposite end and a Menard's home center just around the corner. However, my purpose in writing a review for this store is to give them points for cleaning up their online order pick-up area. It had been a jumbled, disorganized mess behind the counter and took befuddled staff forever to find items. That area has been cleaned and larger orders relocated into the warehouse behind. Apparently better organized; they retrieved my most recent order quickly. It took a while to find someone, so knocking off a star for that. You're also paying high Crook County sales taxes here, so I prefer to shop at the stores in DuPage County when possible. Walmart is coming on strong in the online order arena and for me is now a viable, and sometimes preferred, alternative to Amazon. read more

Walmart has worst customer service policy ever. Customer service representative was named Paul. Product was ordered through Walmart.com. It was missing an essential component. The product was in its original box. The CSR would not take item back because we no longer had the Shipping container. He said I could buy a box and there was a rack of boxes for purchase nearby to which he would print and affix a return label. He explained the return policy and refused to take the item back. Now I am inconvenienced. I leave the store with the return item still in hand. Walmart states on its website "We make returns easy." And also " We are happy to help. Not 100% satisfied with your item? We will make it right." I distinctly told Paul I was dissatisfied. Paul dug in his heels and said without the box I had a problem. With my dander now up, I said Walmart has a problem. After returning home, Walmart's online customer service took care of the situation and sent a return shipping label via email. Everybody knows Walmart offers low, low prices so no need to comment on that. People certainly don't go here for the pleasant shopping experience OR the customer service. I don't like Walmart. Why? Because my husband is a union man and he says that Walmart gets away with paying people crap so that they can sell products at lower prices. And the Super Walmarts are giving your local grocers Jewels and Dominicks a RUN for the money. So don't get me started on how the people they hire are largely oblivious to the concept of customer service. I just get my bargains and leave.....in a hurry....if I'm lucky and the check-out girl doesn't pretend I'm not there. One thing I must say I do LIKE about Walmart---those "people of Walmart" photos that my friends send to me via email. Walmart's Optical department: So I have been to LOTS of eye Dr's due to wearing contacts since the age of 12. Well I was pleasantly surprised at the Walmart Optical Department (at the Hodgkins, Il Store). The treated me with respect, didn't try to force me to buy expensive things I don't need (unlike sh*tty Visionworks at North Riverside Mall) & the place was very nicely redecorated. Recently remodeled, this Wal-Mart is now super clean and well organized. I went last night to get some last minute Easter gifts and had no problems at all. First of all, the prices are cheaper than the Wal-Mart in the city, the staff is much friendlier and more helpful, it is cleaner and there is not random junk strewn about. I used to like shopping at this Walmart, well as far as Walmart shopping goes... After they made it into a Super Walmart with groceries being open 24/7, it just went downhill. No matter when I come this way it's crowded as hell with chicks wearing something written on the rear of their sweats.... Last time I came in, I was in the mood for grilling before the weather was changing & wanted to check on those so good, they're guaranteed steaks. I was surprised at how expensive they were, along with a lot of their other groceries. Most people seem to give Walmart credit for having the lowest prices without actually checking first. Anyhoo, I find a reduced beautifully thick T-bone that spoke to me "take me home", I obliged and put the steak in my cart. I went to see how much they charged for some Lawry's Steak & Chop marinade (good stuff I tell ya). Found the price reasonable with a coupon attached & picked it up. Got back to my cart a bit confused.... Some butt hole stole my f*cking steak right outta my cart. That is some low sh*t. Now I'm standing there with a bottle of now useless steak marinade. I was so turned off, I almost left my cart & it's items right there in the aisle. The hurting part is that my steak could've yelled or something, since it was so chatty earlier right? We recently went to this Wal-Mart on a sunday evening and Why only 2 lanes open??? And the self serve check out registers there were 3 out of service. Store needs better management of their staff. I seen numerous staff walking around they should be behind a register and make our check out faster. No need to be in a check out line longer than in store shopping. A customer had to tell a manager this obvious noticeable problem that he didn't notice when he walked by. Besides that this location is well stocked but no ammo. read more

(this is actually a Super Walmart - I believe - not just a regular one) This really really pains me to do - but I give wal-mart 4 stars. Honestly, I haven't been to a wal-mart store in probably 5 years. We don't shop there and I don't ever consider getting anything there. Unfortunately, I had to go to wal-mart to exchange a gift I received. Boy was I surprised! The customer service line moved really really quickly, there were plenty of cashiers so no long lines, and when I needed help the guy at the photo center was super friendly and explained everything to me (even though I wasn't doing anything with photos). The aisles are super wide, enough for 2 carts to pass by and then some. The fridge section is well lit and the the selection is huge. Why not 5 stars? Well, we usually shop at Super Target and I noticed that this Wal-Mart's prices are a tiny bit higher than Super Target's. read more
