I value that Mariano's stores typically have a wide variety and selection. It is also superb that they have a dining area. I have appreciated the ability to obtain prepared foods at Mariano's, including delicacies like sushi. I have found other great prepared foods at Mariano's that I enjoyed a lot, e.g,. succulent beef pot roast. It is fantastic that Mariano's have self checkout kiosks, which can help with convenience. There are also a significant number of Mariano's stores in Chicagoland.

Though 98% of their fish or shrimp is farm raised, there are some wild caught fish but you have to look. The meat section is well stocked. Watching the prices raise based on the economic daily swings is sadly a reality. Do not attempt to ask for help from the staff because they do not speak English. One major complaint is that whoever changed the recipe ingredients in the vegan carrot cup cakes should explain why they went from top class carrot cup cake to packaged quality cement or tuck point worthy is beyond me. These cupcakes were so good I wanted to keep them a secret yet also to write a review of their quality. I know at least four other patrons bought them because they only stocked four packages per week. Ambiance is all about lighting and smells of the meat and fish section. No smells here. In this store location it's about integrated ethnic vibes and soon to be in direct competition with a Traders Joe's opening across the street. I wonder what that will bring in upgrades to Pete's.

They are AMAZING! I could share any number of stories but Ive settled on this one for today.... I was sitting in my car about 30 minutes before they opened. The workers and what looked like delivery people were moving about their business in and out the doors. The Owner, Dennis, came over and invited me in. He knew that I was most likely there for deli items and volunteered that there was someone back there who would open up for me. I go back there and sure enough there was someone back there.... But he was performing a full pre-start break down and cleaning of the deli! I was about to swerve and busy myself with other stuff but he was right on it! asked me what I needed and got me situated with a smile and a genuineness that you can't fake. As I made my way to the checkout, I see Dennis waiting there to ring me out personally. As I'm walking out of the store, he runs out and stops me to introduce himself properly. As a small business owner, that level of service and willingness to stop everything for one customer means something.
