    DON'T EVER GO TO CHUBBYS

Terrible service!!! I was given the wrong order and was presented with a pile of shit. The taco wasn't made up at all and the meat was throw around like nobody gave a fuck. Honestly, I will not be going to chubbys again with that bad of service. The workers are clumsy and the manager was very rude on the phone when I was tied to contact the store about my order. Honestly a pathetic excuse for a restaurant.

They say nothing good happens after 2 AM...not true if it involves Chubby's Cheesesteaks. Best mistake ever. PREFACE: We got into MKE at 1 AM, so by the time we were checked in and settled at the Courtyard Marriott in downtown MKE, it was close to 2 AM. Most kitchens were closed, much less within walking distance. We saw that Chubby's was open until 2 AM so we made a quick call to confirm. Upon calling, we realized they were open until 3 AM and available for deliveries. Sweet! DELIVERY: Loved the quick and easy online order delivery via Yelp. The delivery guy even delivered our order directly to our room upstairs. Ordering after 2 AM, we didn't expect the food to come until 3 AM, but it came much quicker than expected. FOOD: I shared the Mushroom Swiss Cheesesteak and Nachos Supreme. Their cheesesteak was not was good as Nathan's, but didn't taste super oily or unhealthy at 2 AM, so I consider it a good decision. The nachos were good shared, but I would not be quick to recommend the chicken. While the chicken is small and bite-sized and just lightly peppered, it didn't seem to mesh well with the nachos. I liked most of the toppings on the nachos, except the lettuce, tomatoes, diced raw onions seemed like an odd choice for nachos. The cheese, jalapeños, and sour cream were spot on though. Overall, I can see why Chubby's has 3.5 stars, presumably for their food. It's decent, but not great for fast food. What pushes my review to 4 stars is its ease of online delivery and pay system, the fact that their kitchen stays open until 3 AM, and that they deliver all the way up to our hotel room on the 4th floor. Awesome x3.

Probably the worst sub I've eaten. Their cheesesteak has to be the worst in the country.

Why does anyone go here? It's horrible. Just go to Checkers or Wendy's. At least it won't be double the price of this Chubby place

They have their menu online, limited toppings, but we called ahead to place the order. He said it would be ready in 10 minutes. The pizza size isn't online but I measured and it's 14". First impression of the pizza when they handed it to me was that it needed more cheese. I still think that's true after baking it. I was tempted to add more of my own but wanted to eat it as it came. Tons of toppings though! The sausage was really good too. Never being there but knowing they have cannoli (no dessert case seen), I asked what flavors and got a strange look like there must be only one flavor lol. Okay, I'll take whatever that one is! The man went into the back to fill it for me and I will say it was delicious and was I guess just a plain cream with maybe some vanilla. They aren't open very late so get there early if you want dinner. Like before 5pm. Several others came in to get sandwiches while we were there and said they are great. The space is not very big, it's mostly counter and register but they do have a few tables if you want to sit. You can tell by who was working that they are a family run business and I'm happy to support them in the future! I will ask for extra cheese!

WHERE to begin? I've…read morebeen familiar with B&B since its earliest days (which roughly coincided with the earliest days of another great Milwaukee institution, Outpost Natural Foods -- where I was a member and volunteer). A good friend of mine cooked at B&B for a while. As young, recent college grads, my wife and I regularly ate there. Along with Oriental Drugs, the Blue River Cafe, The Outpost and Century Hall, B&B was a favorite, comforting go-to spot. Although I couldn't visit very often during my 25 years on the west coast, I was so very happy to know that it was still here, and as wonderful as ever, when I returned to Wisconsin in 2008. How funny to think that this tremendous haven for those wanting to include at least some vegetarian foods in their diet occupied the spot once known for Frenchy's restaurant (the place famous/infamous for its bear and lion steaks)! I'll need a new place to eat before going to the Oriental Theater. And I'll need a long time to process the sadness I feel. All the best to the owners and staff . . . and here's hoping that maybe B&B will live on in another location.

First time here…read more Food: We were excited to try some Somali/African cuisine. For beverages, we ordered the chai tea and the mango smoothie. I was expecting a plain chai tea, but what I received was actually a chai latte. What a wonderful surprise! It wasn't the type of chai latte I might expect from a local coffee shop, but it was better than many I've had. We started with a couple of veggie sambusas. They were excellent. Hot, crisp, and fresh, with a generous filling and served with a side of mint chutney. Together, they made a fantastic flavor combination. We also ordered hummus and pita bread. Both were fresh, tasty, and well presented. The final part of our meal was the Goat Platter. It arrived hot and fresh, with generous portions. The goat meat was delicious and tender. The serving was large enough that I took half home, and it will make great leftovers. Service: The gentleman at the counter was friendly and efficient. He was very attentive, bringing each item to our table. He seemed genuinely proud of the food, its presentation, and our reaction to it. There was also a woman in the back, whom I believe was doing most of the cooking, and I had a chance to thank her as well. Atmosphere: The restaurant is small and unassuming. It was clean and well lit, thanks to the large front windows. It appears that most of their business is takeout, but there are several tables available for dining in. We were the only people eating there during our visit, so it was very quiet. Overall: We were super impressed with this little spot serving excellent Somali/African food. The quality of the food, the warm service, and the generous portions made for a wonderful first experience. We'll definitely be back.
