My recent experience here was short and sweet. I can't speak to their food but I'd give their coffee a thumbs up! My dad and I stopped by the outside drive-thru portion of the restaurant in search of a morning drink. The menu looked really extensive with lots of breakfast items, sandwiches, bagels, and hot dogs. I've yet to try any of it so I'll have to return for that, but in the meantime, I was happy with my iced almond milk latte. The service was quick and social-distancing was practiced by the staff (thank you!). I love the idea of being able to walk up to a window and order, as opposed to needing to enter into a building as this time. Ordered a Gyro sandwich through Uber eats. I received meat and a piece of pita and half a slice of tomato. Sandwich should have also had onion, feta cheese and sauce. When I called the restaurant they refused to give me a refund. Directed me to Uber eats for my refund. When contacted Uber eats, I was told I'm not eligible for a refund cause they didn't make the food. I'm not mad at Uber. I ordered from a place on EatStreet called The Breakfast Club thinking it was a local restaurant. Turned out it was actually Chubby's under a different name for some reason so I was disappointed in that. This "The Breakfast Club" place has no website, no Facebook page, no Yelp page, absolutely nothing. The only way I found out anything about them was trough EatStreet and I found some reviews on GrubHub's website after I already ordered...the reviews were terrible. My food came and I was disappointed to say the least. I ordered some breakfast platter they had. The "bacon" was very obviously fake. Very rubbery and chewy and dark in color. The scrambled eggs and chicken patty it came with had absolutely no flavor. The chicken patty was also wet and soggy on the bottom of it. The only things that were edible were the Belgian waffle and the tater tots. The tater tots had good flavor and seasonings on them. They may have been a bit on the salty side but not too heavily. The waffle was nice and soft and the syrup that came with it was delicious. Overall I was very disappointed in this order. You could tell nothing was cooked fresh and everything was reheated and stuck in a couple styrofoam boxes. I am definitely trying to get a refund from EatStreet or somebody. My money was definitely wasted seeing as almost all my food went in the damn garbage. Do not get anything from this place. They say nothing good happens after 2 AM...not true if it involves Chubby's Cheesesteaks. Best mistake ever. PREFACE: We got into MKE at 1 AM, so by the time we were checked in and settled at the Courtyard Marriott in downtown MKE, it was close to 2 AM. Most kitchens were closed, much less within walking distance. We saw that Chubby's was open until 2 AM so we made a quick call to confirm. Upon calling, we realized they were open until 3 AM and available for deliveries. Sweet! DELIVERY: Loved the quick and easy online order delivery via Yelp. The delivery guy even delivered our order directly to our room upstairs. Ordering after 2 AM, we didn't expect the food to come until 3 AM, but it came much quicker than expected. FOOD: I shared the Mushroom Swiss Cheesesteak and Nachos Supreme. Their cheesesteak was not was good as Nathan's, but didn't taste super oily or unhealthy at 2 AM, so I consider it a good decision. The nachos were good shared, but I would not be quick to recommend the chicken. While the chicken is small and bite-sized and just lightly peppered, it didn't seem to mesh well with the nachos. I liked most of the toppings on the nachos, except the lettuce, tomatoes, diced raw onions seemed like an odd choice for nachos. The cheese, jalapeños, and sour cream were spot on though. Overall, I can see why Chubby's has 3.5 stars, presumably for their food. It's decent, but not great for fast food. What pushes my review to 4 stars is its ease of online delivery and pay system, the fact that their kitchen stays open until 3 AM, and that they deliver all the way up to our hotel room on the 4th floor. Horrible establishment. Food reminded me of school lunch cafeteria food. I had a meatball sub, meatballs were old (actually gray) ,dry and flavorless, bread should have been tossed the day before and the sauce was watery and also flavoless. My wife had a cheese steak sub. Her steak was gross, stringy and flavorless. Also I was harassed by another customer for change and the employees did nothing to remove him as he continued to ask me, my wife my 10 year old son and several other customers for change. For a drive through, the service is extremely slow (10 minute wait), and the novelty of such a big menu is wasted when they don't have the food in stock and can't get your order right anyway. Disclaimer: ordering from here is a part of self hatred. I order from here because it's affordable and fast but that shouldn't excuse them from basic customer service. When it comes to cheesesteaks I am pretty sure there is a large amount of people outside Philly that don't know what makes a real cheesesteak. Well that's when you let out a sigh and realize that this is going to be an ordeal. You may make a mess and that's ok. Chubby's gets 3.8 stars because they do it right and there are other options to choose from. I had the French Fry Cheesesteak that has (as you may have guessed) french fries and fried onions along with the steak and cheese. It's a good size sandwich and I felt they were generous with the amount of meat. Some places come up short and skimp out. At Chubby's you are going to get your fill. I can only imagine how bad for you this sandwich is. Watching your figure? Care about living? Also a sandwich of this nature can and very well may put you into a food coma/food hangover. So if you planned on being productive later in the day it may not happen. When I went it was dead and my party of two had plenty of seating percentage wise to choose from....which is limited. I don't know how busy the dine in gets but they maybe seat 15-20? This may be a better "to go" option. Parking in that goofy lot is well.....goofy. You could luck out or find yourself on the street as I have. It's a roll of the dice. This is one of those great guilty pleasures I hear about so often.
