Went last night for an early dinner around 530. We had made reservations a week or so ago but there…read morewere free tables so you probably could just walk in as well. The place is super cute and decorate well! It's clean and a everyone was so nice and attentive which made for a really welcoming environment. I really wanted to love the food but my Italo Peruano was way too spicy when the description on the menu/the ingredients listed didn't indicate anything that would give it that much heat. Also the steak was cut very large for being served in a pasta dish and in a bowl where it was very difficult to cut it. The Lomo was good but too salty. The dessert we shared however was amazing! We got the churros which came with chocolate sauce, strawberry puree and Lucuma ice cream! They told us it was a South American fruit! It's hard to describe the flavor but it was awesome! Kind of like a caramel/butterscotch with notes of sweet potato and maple syrup! It doesn't sound like it would all work together but it absolutely does! Overall we had a good experience and would be totally willing to come try the food again next time we are in the area!

This hidden gem is serving up bold, vibrant Peruvian cuisine that will leave your taste buds doing a happy dance. I started off with a delicious papaya passionfruit jalapeño margarita. It was the perfect balance of tropical sweetness & just the right kick of heat. It's the kind of cocktail that makes you pause after the first sip and say, "Wow." Whenever I see ceviche on the menu, I almost always order it but especially at a Peruvian restaurant. This version featured Baramundi fish, lime juice, cilantro, onions, sweet potato chips, leche de tigre, rococo. There was a ton of fish, it was firm & super fresh, just the right amount of acidity, a little bite from the fresh red onion... put it all together on a warm sweet potato chip & it was the perfect bite! Note: The warm sweet potato chips were so awesome, we just had to have more! The chips were crunchy & slightly sweet, the perfect combo for the cool citrusy ceviche. On the recommendation of our lovely server, we then opted for the Spanish mussels with fresh herbs, tomato, onion, fennel, garlic, white wine & cream reduction, topped with toasted baguette slices. There were a good amount mussels nestled in a rich, creamy sauce that had us practically licking the bowl (no shame in our mussels game). By then, we were almost full but the next course was Pollo a la Brasa: family recipe for slow roasted chicken, fries, garden salad & aji verde. The chicken was tender, flavorful & perfectly charred - simple but perfectly executed. The sauce was a vibrant, herby green sauce that I would happily slather on everything. The ambiance is cozy yet contemporary, the service is attentive without being overbearing & every dish that came out of the kitchen had us planning our next visit before we even finished our meal. As a wife of an Army veteran, we were both touched by the missing man table - a table set in honor of fallen, missing or imprisoned military service members So if you are at Mohegan Sun & want to venture beyond the usual options, Canggio is 100% worth the short drive. Make a reservation, thank me later! Highly recommend.

Something about the sign aesthetic made me think it would be a good place. I Yelp-Searched it, and Lima 32 damn near had a perfect rating based on less than 50 reviews. I'm a Food Blogger. So I try to explore new places and avoid repeating spots I know. I've eaten at Lima 32 three times since January. Lima 32 is a small casual Peruvian spot located in a very small plaza in Meriden. Parking is tough, but they've done a nice job with the aesthetics inside. Lima 32 is also available on DoorDash within a certain area. I've now had the Lomo Saltado, the Arroz Con Marisco and the Chaufa de Pollo. Best Lomo Saltado I've ever had, and I've had a really expensive one at a famous CT spot. It's basically a beef and veggie stir fry. You can see the chef making it with fire in the pan if you have the right seat. The soy and oyster sauce based glaze is good salty. So flavorful and everything is perfectly cooked. Best Arroz Con Marisco I've ever had. It's a saucy Peruvian paella. The sauce (Aji Amarillo) has a well rounded creamy pepper flavor. The seafood, like crab, mussels and shrimp really stand out. I suspect the seafood varies depending on what's available. The Chaufa de Pollo, a Chinese fried rice style dish, was very good too. Huge pieces of chicken. Eat it with the delicious Aji Verde sauce. Is Lima 32 hidden? I don't know. But it sure the hell is a gem. It's must visit. 5 Stars

One of my friends used to live in the area and said this place was good. All the food was very delicious. I had one of the steak dishes and for some reason it was a little bit spicy to me, but it was still very good, and it came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. One friend had the Lomo Saltado, which I tried and it was very good, and another had one of the other steak dishes, topped with a fried egg, and said it was great. He also can't have dairy and explained that to the waiter, who was very good at making sure nothing was cooked in butter for him. I wasn't going to get a drink, but my friends were drinking so I ended up getting the Pisco Sour, which was great. My friends said this restaurant used to be a lot smaller and then they expanded a few years ago, as well. I think there is street parking but I didn't want to have to find it, so I did valet - it's five dollars (plus tip) and they add it onto your bill. For some reason it ended up being $9.06 for our two cars, which I don't understand, but whatever lol. The only tiny nitpicky thing I have to say about this place is that the service was a bit slow. The waiter did check on us quite a bit, but the place was packed so I understand having slow service, it took a while to get our food. That being said everything was fantastic so I would definitely come back here when in the area.

Jalea: I don't usually like fried seafood, but this was really good! Besides the usual oysters, quahogs, shrimp, mussels, and squid, they also had South American specialties like paiche and pota. The batter was just the right consistency, not too thick, so it was crispy but not hard, and not too greasy, allowing you to taste the natural flavor of the seafood. The best dish was the fried shrimp; the thin, crispy shell concealed incredibly smooth and tender shrimp inside. The yucca fries were thickly cut, crispy on the outside and delicate on the inside, very satisfying. I recommend ordering an extra side of chili sauce; the waiter called it "extra spicy," but it's actually a salsa-like sweet and sour sauce--refreshing and mildly spicy, very refreshing. 903 Tasting: A platter of three signature dishes, perfect for first-timers. Ceviche Mixto had a milder sourness, making it easy to put in mouth, but it was a bit monotonous, and the scallops were a little mushy. Jaleita was basically a smaller version of Jalea. Arroz con Mariscos was similar to Spanish paella, but it was noticeably more tomato-based in sourness, with a hint of cheese. The rice wasn't too soggy either, making it the best of the three. Lomo Saltado: A classic Peruvian dish, and well-made. The beef is very flavorful, emphasizing the tomato's acidity rather than the soy sauce's saltiness, and the gamey taste was well removed. Although it was a bit overcooked , it was generally acceptable. By the way, their backyard was really beautiful!

The waiter was very welcoming and clarified with another coworker for things we asked but he wasn't sure about. Located in a strip mall the place may be small in square footage but big on ambiance. We arrived about 6pm and were lucky enough to score a two seat table. It was almost filled to capacity with lots of diners enjoying their meals. With great Latin music playing and laid back vibe, I was looking forward to a great meal. John our server was polite and efficient. We started off with traditional Peruvian golden lager, Cusquena. Crisp and delicious! Two ceviche appetizers and two steak entrees. We're ceviche lovers and throughly enjoyed those dishes. The Honey enjoyed his Lomo Saltado. The traditional Peruvian stir fry dish. Strips of beef sirloin, red peppers, onions and tomatoes. Served with French fries and white rice. My Tacu Tacu Steak with rice and beans was a hit, and miss. The steak was tough and the rice and beans, really "starchy". It's hard to explain they tasted heavy and sticky. The portions are generous so I had leftovers for home. Surprisingly, the dish tasted better the next day. The menu highlights their Happy Hour and Wine Down Wednesdays. We're looking forward to returning for one or both :) of those! For some warm vibes, good service and fresh food this place is worth a visit. Thank me later.....
