Ordered on door dash, by hour 3 my order wasn't ready. I usually go there every Sunday in person but I hurt my back. Called in to ask what's taking so long, the lady on the phone said my bad and 'tried' to hang up on me. I don't think she realized she didn't hang up and said she was going to "spit in this bitches food" in Spanish. Plenty of parking since they're right next to a public parking lot for the town. They have a but of sife street parking on a partially one-way street to the side. If you plan on visiting when it's not busy, I would highly recommend the weekdays. The weekends are busy, but you'll be seated quickly. We were a party of 2 and didn't wait 5 minutes for a table for 2. The food was so good! We ordered during breakfast time but were able to get the Peruvian Delights! We ordered tamarind juice, chicha morada, pan con chicharon, and pan con lomo. The juices were a little more towards the sweeter side. The pan con chicharon is my all-time favorite. The pork with the sweet potato and creole salad hits the spots. It's salty, tad hint of sweetness from the sweet potato, tanginess from the citrus on the red onions, soft, crunchy all in one bit. The pan con lomo smelled so delicious. I would eat deconstructed since it's a little messy. Food and drinks are decently priced as well. read more

The Peruvian tamales are wider and fatter than more familiar Mexican tamales, with an appealing vinegar element from the onion salad on top. Best home fries in Connecticut, low prices, and I had no problems with service at all on a Sunday morning when they had a number of groups eating there. It's a nice little find near the waterfront, tucked behind a defunct antique store next to the public parking. As far as I'm concerned, this can be my regular New London breakfast or lunch stop, and it saved me from much higher prices and larger crowds in Mystic. read more

I wish I could give this place no stars. I went there yesterday with a group of friends. The waitress got mad at us when we asked her about the overpriced bill once we finished eating. When we asked the waitress why we were EACH paying $4 extra, she started speaking Spanish to us & walked away with a attitude. On my credit card statement, I was charged a extra $4 for a basic cheeseburger with onion rings & I didn't order anything extra with my meal. I will never return to this place. My co-workers and I were in town and we happened to stop in during lunch hour on a Tuesday. Is it a good sign when you walk in and you're the only customers there? It's a small quaint diner located in downtown New London. The location faces a big parking lot. I had the French toast with 2 eggs and 2 sausage patties. As a coffee snob, the coffee was good. Surprisingly, the slices of French toast were on the thinner side and didn't consist of the thick bread I'm used to seeing. It might have been just plain wonder bread. Although our server was very friendly, it took a long time to get our food. Remember, we were the only ones in the place. We had 90 minutes for lunch and we used up close to most of them if you include the travel time back to work. The prices were very reasonable and there was plenty of parking. One of our co-workers went back the next day during lunch and experienced a long wait time for her food once again. Would I go back again? Yes. This time I'll try the pancakes. read more

This place used to be my favorite little place to eat. Service was fast and friendly. Then one day no familiar faces I see on waitress run the place now there are three fumbling around. I draw the line when I have to go to the counter not once but twice for a coffee refill. I don't know what happened I know the menu expanded however the customer base seems to be the same. The food is still very good and cheaply priced. I am hoping this is just a stage cause I would hate to bid farewell and take my business to Mi casa which is a stone's throw from here. Very disappointing. I ask you...How do you mess up a BLT sandwich? Here's how they failed. When I ordered a BLT sandwich on a Kaiser roll with cheddar cheese and avocado, I received a few burnt pieces of crumbled bacon, a slice of tomato, and two pieces of lettuce between two pieces of lightly toasted white bread.
