Kurobuta Pork Mini Bao(6pc)

Beef noodle soup 3/5. Noodle was not piping hot upon pick up. Noodle was soggy. It was just ok. Pork XIAO LONG BAO 2/5. More meat more thick, it was not authentic. Wonton 2/5. It just wasn't authentic. Place is nice. Service is slow.

Spicy wonton done right. Definitely purely full of flavor. When I want to eat spicy wontkk ok n I want to have the chili oil with some kick and here it's kickin. Chubby dumplings food is full of authentic Chinese flavors you will love. The beef shank noodle soup is full of tender fresh beef and noodles in a delicious broth with a little nom Choi and a braised egg. The restaurant has a nice indoor seating area and a great patio to soak up the sights and sounds of the area surrounding Disneyland. The staff are friendly and the food is delicious.

I would like to give them a 3.5. Their dumplings are pretty good, but not as good as Din Tai Fung, and their prices are very high for being a fast-food-style place. The chicken chow mein was good, and we enjoyed the pork soup dumplings and crispy shrimp dumplings. The cucumber salad was a huge disappointment, though--it didn't taste fresh and seemed more like pickled cucumber that had been sitting around for a while. For my 11-year-old daughter and myself, it was $60 for what didn't feel like a huge amount of food, so I felt the value was lacking. We were welcomed when we came in, but we ordered at a kiosk and our name was called when the order was ready. It took about 15 minutes for our food to be prepared. The restaurant is clean and small, and we chose to take our order to go. Overall, the food was good, but given the price and portion sizes, I'm not sure we'd go back.

We stayed at the hotel right opposite this restaurant during a recent visit to Disney. They have a Michelin 2021 plaque hanging in the restaurant but a google search says they don't have that recognition. Anyway, restaurant is nice and clean, not much seating inside but they have some tables outside. Be careful after sunset as there are a lot of mosquitoes in that area. We got around three dishes to share, the prices seem high but quantities are generous. Spicy wonton- 4.5/5: the spicy sauce is addictive and that was the star of this dish. Chicken chowmein-4.5/5- very memorable absolutely delicious. The umami was fingerlicking good. Chicken was soft and didn't have any funky taste. This is a dish I can keep going back to their restaurant for. Chicken fried rice:4/5: I missed egg in this one. I thought egg was a default component in any fried rice. Owing to the lack of egg, this was decent rather than great.

This restaurant is right below the Hyatt House Anaheim Convention Center. It's a small indoor seating but they also have outdoor. The chicken chow mein was my favorite. It was clean and the employees were friendly. Definitely recommend!

This place is kind of like an upscale Panda Express. Order at the counter and sit yourself anywhere there is a free table. Food is tasty no doubt but just be warned it could be a bit oily for some. Example, I ordered the Wagyu beef fried rice and it was cooked with a lot of oil. I could see the extra oil at the bottom of the plate. It would be nice if this could be addressed.

Chubby Dumpling was good, but pricey. I came here with friends to share the food family style - we ordered soup dumplings, cucumber salad, wonton dumplings, cold noodle, and shumai. The flavor of the dumplings, wonton dumplings, and shumai were awesome, with the perfect seasoning, level of chili oil, and seasoning - think of it as very similar to dim sum, The dumpling sauce was also very tasty and tangy. The cold noodles were okay - most of the flavor came from the minced pork as opposed to the sauce, but the minced pork was tasty! The cucumber salad was subpar to traditional restaurants and it almost appeared soggy which bummed me out - it also lacked flavor. For the price we paid, I feel like you could get better quality and quantity elsewhere.

I love the chubby brand, however the fried rice and noodles here were too greasy. Order at kiosk, they handed you your food, and you can bus your own table or they can clean up. Parking was shared with Hyatt Hotel and could be difficult to find a spot. Nice casual restaurant. Clean. Small only a few tables. Siu long bao was on. Fried rice could be MUCH less greasy. The minced meat on the noodles was overly greasy too. I understand this was a casual eatery, however it almost disservices the chubby brand. May not go again unless I would be at Disneyland. It indeed is conveniently located near Disneyland.

Small chinese spot with parking in the back. I love the convenience of the self order kiosk and options to dine in/take out, limited seating though. Food was very yummy, but definitely on the more expensive side. pork soup dumplings: $13.50 for 6 pc. 8/10. Very yummy, but expensive and small portion. wagyu beef mini bao: $15.50 for 6 pc. 6/10. expensive and not very tasty. bao with a meatball inside. skip spicy prok/shrimp wonton: $13.60 for 6 pc. 7.4/10. Yummy but not better than other spicy shrimp/pork wontons that I have had. spicy dry noodles w/ minced pork: $15.50. 9.4/10. Best thing we ordered!!! so delicious, packed with flavor, meat, and sauce. A little bit oily, but delicious nonetheless. Would get this again. sweet and sour pork ribs: $16.60. 7.2/10. Yummy but nothing special. steamed custard bao: $6.99 for 3 pc. 5/10. Something was off. Did note enjoy this.

Steamed Chicken & Corn Dumplings (6 pieces - $13.00)

Chubby Dumplings is part of the Chubby Group. Unlike the other sister restaurants in the Chubby Group which focus on upscale experiential dining, Chubby Dumplings focuses on a fast-casual dining experience and customers place their orders using one of two kiosks. This spot used to be Luscious Dumplings (received a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2021), but the Chubby Group took over and rebranded it as Chubby Dumplings. [Parking]: Free parking in the rear and the parking spaces are shared with Hyatt House and Walgreens. [Amenity & service]: Small space with both indoor and few outdoor tables. A restroom is available. Our party waited approximately 20 minutes for the food even though the restaurant was only half full. [Menu]: Yelp's top highlighted items are Kurobuta Pork Soup Dumplings, Braised Beef Noodle Soup, and Pan Fried Pork Dumplings. *** Kurobuta Pork Soup Dumplings (6 pieces - $13.50): The skin was a bit thicker than I had expected and the broth had an average flavor. Steamed Chicken & Corn Dumplings (6 pieces - $13.00): I should have read the menu more closely as these steamed dumplings contained corn and I certainly wasn't expecting this ingredient. They tasted alright. Shrimp with Pork Siu Mai (6 pieces - $12.50): Ironically this appetizer order was probably the best of the three, but damn hefty price tags for 6 small pieces of pork siu mai. *** 3-star for the food but bump down due to (1) the food took a long time to prepare (20+ minutes) despite this being a fast-casual restaurant and (2) the portions were small relative to the somewhat expensive prices. This is the most disappointing restaurant I have experienced out of all the restaurants I have visited that are part of the Chubby Group.

This was like easy Chinese fast food, but the food was actually very good! However, I'm giving it three stars because it was pretty pricey and each dumpling was super tiny. It was around $80 for two people with four items and drinks, but we still weren't full. Probably a good option for visitors at Disneyland- especially for takeout, but I wouldn't say it's the best value for locals.

Diana L.

Interior is clean with limited seating indoors and out. Our food came out hot and fresh. Order at the counter and then seat yourself. It's casual and can get crowded. Free parking in the back!

Cucumbers

While this place is super conveniently located and offers a lot of advantages like cleanliness and extra pleasant staff, the food was a wee bit lacking. The cucumbers were sadly kinda limp and the flavors a bit on the timid side. Still, I would come back for a quick soup dumpling lunch before hitting the park.

Chubby Dumplings Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Chubby Dumplings

Are you Chubby Dumplings or Luscious dumplings? The QR code menu says Chubby Dumplings at the top?

So take a wild guess if menu says so.

Do they take reservations?

No, but the turnover is fairly high so you can get a table (self serve) quickly. There are couple of tables for 4, a few tables for 2, and some countertop space.

Can we make reservations?

You would not want reservations here. You order at the counter.

Do you guys use peanuts or peanut oil?

We use canola oil

Is it hard to find parking here? Just wondering cause it's close to Disney

Yes, there is very limited 1 hour parking in the lot and then pay parking available in the underground garage owned by the hotel. The paid parking was $3 every 20 minutes when I was there.

Are you guys open yet?

Yes, we are officially opened

A sushi/ramen spot with a drive thru??? What???!!!…read more Yup, Kaiba does indeed have a drive thru!! When I saw this in the reviews I was almost giddy at the thought (call me weird, it's fine). I knew I had to go just for that. Then seeing the great reviews, I knew I had to go sooner rather than later. So one disclaimer tho, the drive thru does not offer their complete menu, but that's understandable considering they'd want to keep the line moving. I had noticed in their Yelp (menu) photo gallery that Kaiba has lunch specials and I was SUPER happy that lunch specials are also available in the drive thru. I ended up ordering the tonkontsu ramen with a mini salmon burrito combo. The mini salmon burrito, for being a mini, is still a good size! Filled with salmon, tempura shrimp, spicy krab, crunchy onions and I don't even know what else, wow, was it yummy!! The ramen was also delightful. Since it was to go, it was packaged in 2 compartments with the broth on the bottom and all the other goodies in the top part. The broth was mild yet flavorful and very comforting. The goodies were very fresh with the egg having a nice yolky center, the noodles being perfectly cooked and the chashu was very tender and practically melted in my mouth. (Great , now my tummy is growling for more of this deliciousness!) The food was great and the drive thru experience was fun. I was so excited to be going through a sushi spot drive thru that I forgot to snap a photo of the menu board. Oh well, perhaps next time.

I only tired the spicy garnet- Spicy garnet: 4/5: this was a creamy chicken ramen. Though it was supposed to be creamy, the broth was still light and has a hint of creaminess rather than being heavy. The spice was delicate as well rather than tongue numbing or tummy upsetting. I infact added more spice mix that was available on the table top. What didn't work was the fact that the egg and chicken were cold. I understand they keep them cold to prevent them from going bad but I would have preferred them to heat it up serving it. Dunking them in hot soup might work but it ends up warming up the entire dish rather than keeping it hot. Other than that minor quibble this was a very decent bowl of ramen.

I wasn't a huge fan of the noodles, but they weren't bad. We also got the spicy cucumber, which was delicious. My only complaint is that the cucumber pieces were cut so large that by the time you finished chewing, all you could taste was the cucumber and not much of the sauce. I also tried the salmon sushi. It was okay. My biggest gripe, though, was that they didn't offer us any small plates, especially since we were sharing the appetizers. And to top it off, they don't validate parking, which was a huge bummer.

As a heads-up, this place can fill up pretty quickly, especially for parties larger than three, but there's plenty of seating for parties of two! I always get the combo special, which includes any of their ramen bowls paired with one of the eligible sides or rolls. My go-to is the spicy tonkotsu ramen without bean sprouts or mushrooms. For the combo, I usually get the spicy tuna crispy rice along with my go-to ramen. What I love most about Ramen Mura is the quality of their broth and how they consistently nail the spice level. This is a great spot for spicy ramen if you want a noticeable kick without having the heat completely overpower the flavor. I used to come here pretty frequently last year, at one point even once a week, and one of the biggest reasons was the consistency of both the food and customer service. Unfortunately, today's experience with the service was quite disappointing. I'm not sure if it was just an off day, but it was a pretty bizarre experience. Shortly after we received our food, my sister and I realized we were still hungry and wanted to order an extra serving of noodles each. We were about halfway through our ramen bowls, so we put in the order, hoping the extra noodles would arrive around the time we finished our initial servings. About 10 minutes passed, and we had both finished our ramen, but our extra noodles were nowhere to be found. We started visibly looking around for assistance, and although the staff noticed us looking, no one acknowledged us. They seemed particularly attentive to other tables, which made the situation even more frustrating since we were clearly trying to get someone's attention. What made it even stranger was that when we initially ordered the extra noodles, our server relayed the order to the chef, who then started staring at us. It almost seemed like he was questioning why we wanted more noodles or thought we were ordering too much, but I can't say for sure what he was thinking. We eventually asked another waiter about our order, and he told us the noodles would be out in a few minutes. By that point, my broth was getting cold, so we told him we no longer wanted them. Suddenly, he responded, "Actually, it's coming out right now." Oh, really? Interesting timing. We requested canceling the order, but then felt pressured to taking the extra sides of noodles since "suddenly" it was ready even though our broth was cold at this point. Anyways, the food was tasty as always! Despite today's unusual and frustrating experience, I do want to give credit where it's due. When I visited more frequently, this place genuinely was top-notch in both food and service. The owner has always been incredibly kind and makes an effort to ensure everyone is enjoying their meal, which I really appreciate. I'd still recommend giving Ramen Mura a try, especially for the flavorful broth and well-balanced spicy ramen. While today's service experience was disappointing, it doesn't completely erase the many great experiences I've had here in the past. I've also noticed they get quite a few takeout orders, so that could be worth checking out, too!

What we ordered: 1) Black deluxe chicken paitan with pork - the broth was so tasty, it was absolutely delicious. The pork slices were generous, however, it was DRY. 2) Pork chashu - for my kid. They loved the broth as well and also felt that the pork slices were dry. I wanted to give 4 out of 5 stars, but I am going to hand them a 3. I loved the tasty broth, but the pork was too dry.
