Amazing meal. We got the silver package ($55 per minus $10 - we got the membership), and it was great. Money aside, we were treated with wagyu tartar nigiri and on chips, bone marrow (awesome), shrimp to cook, and ama ebi shrimp just for starters, then tons of wagyu. I loved the Australian ribeye and we had quite a few. Shrimp tempura, abalone, crab, scallops, and of course, more meat. All in all it was super delicious and the meat is so tender and thin that I didn't feel super full (for a while,,, in fact, exactly 90 minutes, which is the time limit). We got the membership so we can get the discounted price each time and one free on your birthday, in the end, it's pricey, but it's also very memorable and delicious, Personally I didn't care much for the vegetables, so I ate very little of it. Nice to try once, but definitely not some thing I can see myself going to frequently. I just don't believe that you should boil high-quality meat, such as Wagyu. End up all tasting the same to me or maybe I'm just not as sophisticated as everyone else. Haha The meat was higher quality and very tender, but I don't think it was worth paying that much for just those two aspects alone if you are just gonna boil it. The ambience and service were fantastic. We never really felt rushed and all our request came out very quickly. Multiple servers came out to help us with anything we needed. They definitely adhere to the 90 minutes time limit, which starts after you place your first order. We were able to order two specialty dishes. We ended up trying the tartar, which was pretty unremarkable. The bone marrow was my favorite part as it was fatty in the toast that came with it was delicious. The seafood platter had a nice variety, but everything ended up tasting the same after it was boiled. I really enjoyed the clams at the cold bar. They also had the octopus with wasabi, which was interesting. The two biggest things for me when it comes to Shabu is an extensive sauce bar and vegetable/greens options. I found these two areas to be lacking here. They didn't have my favorite greens such as water spinach, or watercress. Sauce bar seemed really limited. When we were there, the milk tea bar was Damage broken so we were not able to try it. They did have a nice assortment of canned drinks. I opted for an apple soda that was pretty tasty. We had such great service here throughout the course of the meal starting with when we first sat down our server kindly explained in detail what the different sets were. We got the gold set and I did not regret it because it let us try the Japanese wagyu and get unlimited Japanese wagyu brisket. I don't eat that much so it wasn't worth it to me to upgrade to the diamond. Having tried both the Japanese Wagyu and Australian Wagyu, I feel like you could tell the difference when they're side by side. So it's worth getting the gold at least once. As for the side dishes, I really enjoyed the fried buns as well as the shrimp specialty dish they let you pick. The drink selection here was great and they even have milk tea. The haagen daaz ice cream at the end was a perfect way to finish off the meal! I ended up getting the membership and it even came with a cute bag and Wagyu bowl, so definitely worth it. I still dream about Chubby Cattle's AYCE Wagyu beef with sukiyaki broth. Flavor-wise it's probably one of the most delicious and memorable hot pot experiences I've ever had when I ate there back in May. I definitely have to re-visit the next time I'm in the area! The staff was massive and the team seemed to work well together by helping each other out, making the service super attentive, and the food always arrived within a minute after ordering. Our dishes were always promptly removed when finished and our server was readily available for us to order more. Honestly the Wagyu beef with sukiyaki was so flavorful that I didn't even have to bother with getting any sauces on the side. They also have fridges stuffed with asian drinks like Wanglaoji that are included in the cost. Next time I'd opt for the spicy miso broth alongside the sukiyaki. The house broth tasted a bit bland compared to the bolder flavors of the sukiyaki. I am hoping they thrive and continue to open more locations, because I am all in on the AYCE Wagyu beef shabu shabu concept lol. Came here to celebrate my birthday with a few friends several weeks ago. Overall I'd rate this place a 3.5. It's expensive and they limit the dining time to 1.5 hr with no wiggle room. There are many ayce hotpot places nearby for half the price. Personally I don't think you need super high quality meat for hotpot. Hotpot is hotpot. We all got the silver set and it was $55 a person. The menu looks like you get a lot but many of the options were "not available". Also none of us opted for the membership because we didn't think we'd come often. One of the major complaints I had was that many of the drink machines were out of service. By the time we left, there was an out of service sign for all the machines with no mentions of discounts or apologies for the inconvenience. We also kept asking for meat and assumed they throttled us because we refilled too often. They had to "cut the meat". On a Friday night, you ran out of meat?? How long does it take to cut slices of beef? I will say that the service was excellent. Our server kept apologizing when things went wrong, even to no fault of her own. Came here to celebrate my wife's birthday. And with the hype of this place we wanted to check if it was worth all of it. And for me, it didn't hit the spot. I think there were a lot of factors that sort of made me get to this spot of why it didn't hit it so I'll list them. Negatives that just didn't make it for me: 1. Time Limit - So let's start here. There's a time limit to the AYCE style. They give you a timer and so now you're sort of rushing when you're eating. If you're paying $300 for a meal for 4, I feel like at that point the rushing of eating is really not necessary. If you're looking to try all the different types, the table isn't big enough to fit everything, and then at the same time you're cooking and it takes time to cook. Honestly, if you didn't have a time limit I think people would still get full based on what they eat. 2. Broth / Flavor of the broth of the hotpot. The broth wasn't there. Even if the broth was super flavorful, depending on if you're just eating wagyu, that fat will melt in the broth and when you're dipping it in the broth and pull it out, that fat will just melt all the flavor away. I think that's a shame, but yeah wagyu and the fat content is just really high and when you cook it, it all disappears. Which leaves me to the next. 3. Wagyu just isn't it for hotpot. Again harking back to #2, wagyu and the fat content is just going to go into the broth and then you're dipping your meat in basically hot fat with the broth on the bottom. I think if there was a way to remove the fat every once in a while, then it would work. So maybe wagyu has a place in like a KBBQ when the cooking top is switched out? The hotpot experience with wagyu just didn't hit it for me for hotpot. 4. Limited Sauces - The sauce bar was a little lacking. There's an island in the middle but there weren't that many sauces. Now, since you don't really taste the broth you would think that the sauces would be a bit more upgraded or have more variety. I've seen better variety elsewhere. 5. Heat/AC - During our visit or maybe it's just like it all the time, it was extremely hot. It makes sense, you have a ton of personal hot pots just bubbling and boiling, and it's pretty much in your face. The whole restaurant is like that, so you would think maybe the AC would be higher to combat this? It was a bit weak, hopefully when you go it's nice and cold outside so you can enjoy some cold weather before coming back in to heat up. Otherwise if you're going in the summer, get ready to sweat a little (mixed in with those meat sweats). 6. Price? - This one is a bit different though I would say this would be weakest of the "negatives". It's pricey, and that's definitely expected considering the type of meats this place is offering and the wider array of dishes/seafood that they offer. I would say save this place for an special treat. I wouldn't get anything like the Diamond tier. I think if I were to come back again, I would only get the first or second tier because honestly you're not going to be able to eat a lot of wagyu. Now let's look at the positives. 1. The milk tea station? Yes. There's a milk tea station, and it's unlimited. Awesome. It's not super sweet, but you can sip on this while eating all of your food. Note though, with the milk tea it will fill you up quickly. While it's cool that it's there you can get super full super quick. 2. The ambiance of the inside with all of the smoke and environment was really neat. They installed these smoke vents in the middle of the restaurant so everything seemed to be pretty wispy and dark. It was a well designed restaurant with all of the decor and such. 3. The high quality meats. You're not going to think "huh, I wish they had x". They had all of it, and in wagyu form. If it's not Japanese wagyu, then they have it Australian wagyu or American wagyu. It was a bit bananas, however I think this place is a great option to see if you want to try or just try wagyu out in general if you have never had it. 4. The variety of different types of food. As I said, their menu was extensive. Along with your meats for hotpot, you can order small dishes. Wagyu nigiri,j curry rice, shrimp, seafood. There's a lot that you can try out instead of just going straight for meat. I think that is a big positive thing for customers that want something other than just meat. Overall, it was okay. Me personally, I don't think it was worth the hype. However, I still say you should come if you just want the experience and you can decide if it's for you or not. I always believe to try everything at least once before you make a decision about it. It didn't hit it for me, but it has captivated everyone else (as you can see the raving reviews)! First, if you're going to come more than once, get the $30 membership it'll save you money in two visits for 2 people so worth it imo! I know you're here for wagyu but don't sleep on everything else because the katsu curry was sooo good and so are a lot of the other side dishes. We liked the wagyu rice, Katsu curry, mini buns and obsessed with the tofu pouches The vegetable tray has a great variety - I love the squash and tofu pouches the most The seafood selection is fresh tasting and worth trying out if you're a fan of seafood. We ended up eating all of ours both times They have a variety of beverages near the front included with your meal + a sauce bar that has some cold side dishes on it. They also provide self serve ice cream but we've never had room for any so far We've been doing the gold set to get the a5 brisket and sampling of a5 meats but all the meat is good here. The service is Soo quick and they have plenty of options for broths as well. Our favorites are spicy miso and sukiyaki so far. The meats were really good, I'm an amateur when it comes to eating hotpot and I always say it's good to have someone with that's been a couple times for the full experience. Luckily I had my partner with me and our server was incredibly helpful. She stopped by to check on us and suggest the broken egg tip (dip the meat and cook it for around 5 seconds, dip it into the scrambled egg). Chubby cattle leaves it up to you to be self sufficient which I enjoy, the staff are really attentive and see if you're running low on your meats, they'll have you good with another plate before you're out. I noticed everyone helps each other too no matter who is our server, team members stop by to grab old plates in passing if they see it. The food was really good, meat were buttery soft. Came here for dinner without any reservations and they were quite busy. We opted for the gold wagyu set. For soup we got the sukiyaki and spicy miso! All orders came with choices for special items and we got the wagyu nigiri and wagyu tartare. The wagyu nigiri was amazing! Melts in your mouth type! I also really enjoyed rhe wagyu tartare as it was pretty fresh and chewy meat! We helped ourselves to the sauce bar and free drinks. They had many options ranging from soda, milk teas to bottled teas. The sauce bar was also pretty clean and had many options to choose from. The service was amazing! They explained everything thoroughly and also came back to pick up and empty plates very frequently. Our server Coco was resourceful and helped us choose our cuts of meat. Overall experience -- The all you can eat wagyu set option was really good. The other dishes menu had some really good choices as well. Service was great despite it being so chaotic. But during the opening weekend, it was just terrible as our place in the system seemed to have been cancelled for no reason after waiting 1.5 hours. As for the final reasoning for my 4 star review, it's the price point. It's so dang expensive! --- Some details -- The drinks were self service for the most part. The waitress will come by and ask if we wanted something to drink. It's just quicker to go yourself as the selections (green tea, oolong tea, sparkling water, coconut juice, etc.) were so extensive. Some of the side dishes (i.e. seaweed, clams, etc.) were also self service right where the sauce station is. The waitress will also ask if refills were needed of anything. The dessert (ice cream, sorbet, etc.) station is also in the front near the drinks. Grab at your leisure. Membership details. Yes, there's a membership. Weird right?! Personally, for the price, it was not worth it. Chubby Cattle Shabu is a chain and it has either a KBBQ or Shabu line. The Shabu version opened in Duluth next to Teso recently. While I welcome more hotpot/shabu spots in Atlanta, I wasn't a fan. It was soft opening but the place was packed. There's 4 set options and we opted for the 3rd option that had Japanese wagyu but not unlimited. While the meat quality was good, everything was just meh that it didn't justify the price. Not to mention that they did not have pork or some drinks that are shown on my picture available. I felt like there should have been a promotion for soft opening since they didn't have everything readily available. Seafood platter did have a decent quality but that's about the only other thing that was good besides the meat quality. Sauces were bland and didn't add to the experience. Shabu shabu broths are more on the clean and bland side but there wasn't any flavor if the sauces itself were watered down and without flavor. Sides were just horrible. Everything was over battered, bland, and quality of a cheap buffet. I wouldn't bother ordering anything since it's just to fill up your tummy. They also offer free drinks and ice cream but nothing too exciting. I do give props to the service as they were very attentive but because they come so often cleaning and refilling your meat little by little, it was so chaotic that I couldn't really enjoy the meal. Not to mention the loud music and echoing sounds from the high ceiling. I realize it's soft opening so I hope they make much improvements. I'm a fan of Chubby Cattle! It's pricy and there's limits on some of the AYCE options but service and quality, and the free assortment of drinks will have me coming back! They also have a couple of private rooms for bigger parties. The place gets pretty busy especially on weekends so expect a wait. They have a variety of combos/AYCE options you can choose from. The menu at first feels a bit overwhelming but menu photos are very eye catching. The meat quality and protein variety is nice. Something for everyone- seafood, wagyu, beef, pork, etc. You can also choose between 4 types of broth. I also enjoyed the wagyu bone marrow that comes with the sets. They have a sauce bar. It doesn't have any premade sauces. It would be awesome if they had some of that for sauce lovers like me but after a couple of visits I think I found the right combo for my dipping sauce there. They don't have a ton of variety of sauce bar toppings but some pretty good standard ones. They are located in the same shopping plaza as Teso and Sweet Hut. This is a good spot to bring out of town guests or for any dining experiences that is a more fancier experience and vibe. The service has been consistently good which I always appreciate. An amazing establishment! The food quality for what you pay for is definitely worth the price. It is expensive but you're paying for quality wagyu beef. Our waitress Uri was the sweetest and kindest waitress that was so attentive to everything we needed. An absolute sweetheart. They even provide milk teas which were a better quality and taste than some actual tea places with such a potent tea flavor. Only warning is they are actually too sweet so they need to be diluted with extra ice. After that it's amazing. Everything also felt really clean, bathrooms and all. Atmosphere/service: located in a plaza so parking is available but can be tough when packed. Recommend your whole party to be present before being seated, they ask you when you enter as well because your time limit starts when you get your table and start ordering! Our server Jin was amazing, he walked us first timers through the menu and was attentive with our orders and questions. Food/price: AYCE for 90 minutes. The price differs based on what tier you choose, obviously the more expensive tiers have more options to choose from. Our table opted for the silver tier ($55/person non-members, $45/person for members), it came with: Broth: they do split bowls as well. Our table had 2 pots so we did 1 side sukiyaki and house broth and the other side sukiyaki and spicy miso. The sukiyaki has a slightly sweet subtle flavor and comes with a pasteurized egg for you to dip your meats into after being cooked in the broth. The spicy miso was a favorite, and the house broth was just okay. My favorite hotpot place! I've tried the silver, gold, and diamond tiers. They were all worth it in their own ways in my opinion! The meat quality is unlike any other hot pot restaurant. Love the new soup base options... we tried the golden chicken and tom yum this time and they were delicious. Everything here is amazing quality, including the service! Kim has been our server 2/3 of the times I've been here, and I hope I get Kim every time I come! They are the best server ever! So friendly, informative,and attentive!!
