We found ourselves in Walker Louisiana about 8PM and hungry. Yelp steered us to Sherwood…read more I'm not a Po Boy lover because usually the roll is just too bready and tasteless. That wasn't the case here, it was more than just something to hold the food in place. The bun is just the right thickness with a smidge of sweetness to it and both my wife and I thought it tasted exceptional. My wife had the Oyster PB and they were fried perfectly and still moist with the briny taste of the sea. I ordered the Catfish knowing the protein portion would be bigger than the Oysters and hoping it would stand up to a too bready roll. Of course it was portioned perfectly paired with the delicious roll. Po Boys are offered in a half or whole sandwich. We ordered by phone and picked up at the drive through minutes later. Well worth a stop.

I will call that accurate…read more Although I must say the remodel/redecoration of this location makes it a bit more inviting than it used to be. The counter service is fast and friendly, the menu is vast, with a LOT of variety - sandwiches, po-boys, comfort food, seafood, salads, pizza - something for everyone. And the food is good. Not the best you've ever had, but it's good. We came here this time specifically for the fried mushrooms. They are really good. Everything else was okay. The fried fish was good - nicely breaded, mild catfish (no muddy taste), and good crispy fries. The shrimp remoulade salad is kind of puzzling, though. Small, unseasoned boiled shrimp on a pile of lettuce. After being boiled with no seasoning, the shrimp are then heavily coated with red pepper (or maybe Cajun seasoning). And the remoulade sauce is in small condiment cups on the side - barely enough to dress the salad. But most of the food here is pretty good (the burgers are massive), and most plates come with enough for some extra to take home. It's not a place we come to often, but it is always on our list of possibilities.
