We have always loved Christo's in Plymouth, so we were happy to stop at Christo's in LaPorte. We were very disappointed in the service we received. Our waitperson engaged in long (very long) conversation with another customer while we waited, staff argued with each other, and we never got our dessert. The food was meh. read more

After Louie's disappeared a few years ago, this is our choice for breakfast in La Porte. I always get the Mexican Skillet and I think it is both flavorful and cheap. We have been going to Christos for over 20 years. Today was a turning point. It took our server over 15 min to take our drink order. Our soups were bland, at best. I got Chicken Mykonos, which is just chicken breast with feta and tomatoes. My husband, chopped steak. His was burnt and mine was barely seasoned. It took forever to get our meal, as well. They raised their prices, thats understandable to us, but the service and quality have gone down to sub par. We have very few restaurants close and its upsetting to see. We ordered (take out) the gyro and the pork chops. I know I've ordered the gyro before but couldn't recall how it was. But, I don't remember was how disappointed I was with the flavor of the gyro meat. But everyone has different taste preferences. The pork chops were Excellent!!! Until the wife pulled a long hair out of the pork chop. She called the restaurant to tell management but she is still waiting for a call back. We are not out looking for a free lunch but my wife owned and operated a restaurant for 25+ years. Great service, great food, and an option for a whole ham steak - Christos is a great spot. Came here with a larger group and were taken care of immediately and speedily. Coffees were poured on the regular and our server was so great with us! I love a good ham steak, and the 1 lb ham steak breakfast was SO good. That char grill on the ham steak was SO delicious, and it was such a pleasant surprise! I made sure to cheese up my eggs in addition, and I devoured this meal. The eggs benedict were also a favorite amongst the group, and looked so delicious. I would 100% come back here for another meal outside of breakfast and to get some cake to go! Great service, excellent food and a fair price! I don't remember our servers name but she was very attentive and friendly.

Our group included 11 people. Happy we were seated together, our server came for our drink order in a reasonable amount of time. The main problem we had was that our food was cold. Chicken rice tasted good but was not hot, mine and my wife's was cold. My Christo's burger was bland and the bun was toasted too much, it was hard. My nephews ham and cheese with sweet potato fries was cold also. We probably won't return. read more

I love this place! The staff is friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The atmosphere is cozy and the bathrooms are beautiful and clean (definitely need a toilet paper upgrade though). We went for breakfast and got the Kentucky Benedict and the Ham steak with eggs, hash browns, and biscuits, and a side of bacon. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing, especially the Ham - it had so much flavor and it was huge! I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast... Before my inaugural visit here I was subjected to quite a bit of hype about this place. I heard from many people that this was one of the better restaurants in the city. I seriously think that this place was over-hyped to me. Although it was a good experience, it did not live up to what I heard. I will be back though because it was pretty good. Let me break it down for you all. The service here was outstanding. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming and treated you like one of their friends. They all did a very good job of taking care of us. I was somewhat disappointed in the value. The prices were higher, the portions were smaller and the taste was decent but nothing about my breakfast screamed out for my attention. This place is always busy. This seems like a solid place so my initial thoughts are this place turns out a consistent meal time and time again. I will be back the next time I am in town to see if this is the case. read more

Last night me and my family (girlfriend, father, and best friend) all went out to Cristos and ordered 2 orders of mozzarella sticks. We got them and we instantly smelled shrimp. They were dropped next to raw fish and 3/4 of us got food poisoning not even 20 minutes after. Way to go Cristo's!! read more

I am giving two stars because previously I have had experiences with this restaurant that have been pleasant and satisfactory. Today, it was very disappointing. I will clarify, I ordered off the menu, found on their website, as we intended to eat at home. Our order included the Early Bird which includes French toast, two eggs and a choice of meat. Unbeknownst to us, there are other menu items not listed on the website that share the same name and inadvertently the server selected the wrong entree. My husband spotted the missing French toast after he arrived home and called. Any previous instance of an error was always handled efficiently and politely. Today the girl who answered the phone accused my husband of not being clear when he ordered. (An odd accusation as I placed the order and per the menu there were no bread choices to clarify.) He patiently explained the online menu and read her what it said. She repeated that it was his job to specify what kind of toast he wanted. He said he called to get the order fixed. She then told him that a separate order of French toast is an additional cost. He, at this point, hung up. I called and asked to speak to the manager. I was placed on a brief hold and was given the most unprofessional excuse for a manager yet. He picked up with a "yes?" I proceeded to explain the website menu and the issue. "What do you want me to do for you?" I explained that my husband had no interest in returning due to how he was disrespected by your staff. "I don't know what you want me to do, I will make you French toast free of charge." I repeated it is no longer about the French toast it's about how disrespectful your staff is. For a third time he said "we are welcome to come get French toast free of charge." It was at this point I ended the conversation. Very frustrating. The French toast was what we initially wanted. As there is a menu item that has what we wanted we should never had to pay extra for anything. We didn't know of additional off menu specials in their computer with the same name. I believe if a menu item is available that matches the desires of the customer and you have made an error you fix it. I posted a similar review on their Facebook page and the response from their representative was that I should be more aware of human error. My response was as follows: "While completely understandable that human error occurs on accident, it is a personal choice to be unprofessional. It's also a poor reflection on the establishment when management is not sure how to handle an unsatisfied customer. Human error has happened prior to this event with our orders from the establishment without incident because the person with whom we spoke with was professional, apologetic and helpful. Today we expected a similar circumstance and were greatly disappointed in the lack of professionalism from both the server/person who took the order and the person who spoke with me on behalf of the management." As of 5:30 pm no response to that was generated. I debated one star but I have never had such poor service from them before. However, after being treated poorly not one, or two, but three times today with no real understanding of the actual issue, they will no longer receive our business, which is a shame because we enjoy supporting local businesses. read more

After a long day on the road, navigating Chicago traffic & rainy weather, we looked forward to a relaxing environment & a good, hot meal on our way back to South Bend. Culver's sounded really good but we thought Christo's would be better. Opting for burgers (& soup which was delicious, but the wonderful looking roll was cold ... ugh) we've never been so disappointed in a $10 burger. My french fries were lukewarm, but worse, the burger meat was clearly a frozen, boxed item. It was not tasteful, nor were we asked how we each would like our burgers prepared. I could only eat half. I was not asked if there was a problem & felt too tired & frustrated to express my disappointment. I asked for a to-go box & was given a small box that couldn't hold what I had to pack up. To add insult to injury, when I asked for the pickle that I thought was to come with the burger, I was told that it was only available upon request. We were given ketchup but no mustard, had to ask for extra napkins to wipe up the excessive burger liquid & grease, did not get a water refill ... the list goes on. The coffee was about the only bring spot of our visit to Christo's. Our service was mediocre at best, which was disappointing for a Sunday, when we expected this to be a day that promised best service of the week. We are minimum 20% tippers & did leave an appropriate 15%, but not 20% as we like to do. I have the opportunity to dine @ Christo's this week with a group of friends for dinner, but will be declining the invitation. Our bill for two was $25. Really wish we had gone to Culver's. read more

The menu is big...really big. In my experience, the more you try to do, the less you excel at anything in particular. This is not necessarily true at Christo's. I love ribs. I've had ribs all over. Christo's ribs are juicy, tender, and messy. Oh yeah, and AYCE. The $14 price tag is totally worth it. Their ranch dressing (made in-house) is highly recommended. On the breakfast side, the Eggs Benedict was fantastic. The hollandaise wasn't too tangy and the eggs were poached perfectly. Served with a side of hash browns, this dish is a big breakfast...and a good one, at that. The service isn't always great. The TV'S seem random and out of place. The decor is not inviting to a younger demographic. All that said, it is a good place to enjoy a dinner out. read more

My daughter and I went to the LaPorte Christos Saturday 2/01/2020 at 8:23 our waitress was Kristen D she took my daughter's plate without asking her if she was done and I asked my daughter in front of the waitress was you done and the waitress asked my daughter if she was done and my daughter said yes to the waitress but she was not and my daughter would not take the plate back cause the waitress touched it my daughter ordered shrimp/ baked potatoe/ the potatoe was hard and cold her soup was cold my daughter likes to go there but the last 2 times have been bad food and service is bad. My daughter will no longer go to Christos or Around the clock. I ordered deep fried mushrooms and they were sliced and flat not like at Around the clock were they are button mushrooms I told the waitress and she said sometimes they do it that way I wished she would of told me cause I would not of ordered them,the waitress was in a hurry to get us served and out of there cause we were the last custoners in her section we will not return to Christos or Around the Clock no more. Never again!!! This was our third time trying to have an enjoyable meal here. First experience not horrible but not great. Second try not good. Third try worst yet. The staff, including the owner, are more preoccupied with each other than their guests. Took 15 min to be greeted, waitress MIA, drinks we more often empty than full.
