If you have questions they will seek to answer them. If your child is unsure, they will talk and explain the procedure patiently. This location has a laser so that helps with recovery and avoiding numbing and child can have lunch directly afterwards, no waiting. They give your child a reusable gift bag with toothbrush and toothpaste and stuffy in it. And your child can chose a little toy each visit which helps little ones look forward to the dentist instead of fearing it. The waiting area has a play house with lots of books and toys and a regular sitting area for parents n older siblings to sit comfortably. They also have a tv in waiting room and in waiting area inside and above dental chairs so kids can be focused on a show of their choosing during the cleaning or procedure. Between them, we've experienced a range of services, braces, routine checkups, extractions, and cavity treatments, so I've gotten a pretty well rounded view of the office. We've also had the chance to see all three doctors at this location, and I can honestly say they all do exceptional work. The assistants are great as well, very patient, gentle, and good with kids. This is definitely a children focused office, and you can feel that right away. The environment is intentionally lighthearted and welcoming, which I really appreciate. They do a good job making kids feel comfortable and less intimidated by things that can be scary, like needles or procedures. That matters a lot as a parent. The front office is a strong point. Every time we walk in, we're greeted warmly and professionally. The team is always very well dressed, presentable, and organized. The space is clean and kid-friendly my kids especially enjoy the waiting area (the Fast & Furious game is always a hit). That said, there's a noticeable difference when you get to the back office. While the staff is kind and good with the kids, the overall professionalism could be improved. There's quite a bit of chatter among staff that feels unnecessary at times, and it can come across as a little too casual. I understand it's a kids' environment, but as a parent, you still want to feel like the team is focused and taking their roles seriously. I also think a bit more attention to presentation and overall demeanor in the back would go a long way just carrying themselves with a little more pride and professionalism. Overall, it's a good office with caring dentists, skilled assistants, and a welcoming environment for kids. With a little more consistency in professionalism behind the scenes, this place could easily be excellent. I also want to highlight one of the dental assistants who helped my daughter, she was honestly my favorite. She was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive, and I really appreciated how she worked with my daughter and made her feel comfortable throughout the visit.

However unfortunately it was the same week I had recently gotten hurt at work and it involved a medical emergency for me, I won't get into specifics for personal reasons, but it because of the issue we had a lot on our plate and forgot. The worker on the phone didn't seem to care and the lady went on about their policies instead of having empathy and caring about what we were saying to her. This lady could've handled it better and because of this she lost customers for the office because we will not attend here any more.

Every visit has been a positive experience, and I've never once felt pressured into procedures or services. It's such a relief to find a place that feels genuinely honest and focused on what's best for the kids rather than pushing unnecessary treatments. What really stands out is how amazing they are with toddlers and young children. The team takes extra time to make kids feel comfortable, letting them see and touch the instruments, explaining what's happening in a gentle and friendly way, and moving at a pace that keeps them calm. My kids have never been scared here, which says everything. The entire staff is kind, patient, and incredibly attentive during cleanings and checkups. I will gladly return to a place again and again if the staff is friendly, respectful, and helpful. My son, Raiden, had an appointment scheduled for a filling on 2/13 at 3:00 PM. Unfortunately, both he and I have been sick, throwing up, and not feeling well, so I needed to cancel and reschedule the appointment. I called today at 4:51 PM, and the woman who answered the phone already sounded stressed and was sighing while asking for my son's information. She said things like, "Ugh, okay... ugh, I can't hear you--did you say June?" when I had clearly said two. Her tone was irritated and upset from the start. While I understand people have stressful days, the interaction felt unprofessional. She then told me, in a very rude and demanding tone, "I'm going to need you to give me a reason why you're canceling, because we have a 48-hour cancellation window and you're calling at the end of the day, and I don't have anyone to fill that spot for the doctor." I was taken aback, as I was simply trying to reschedule. I explained politely that we have been sick and that I didn't feel it was appropriate to come into the office while we've been throwing up. She responded with, "Well, I don't see any previous cancellations, so I'll cancel it," which felt as though she was implying that if I had canceled before, this appointment might not have been allowed or I would be penalized. Despite this, I remained friendly and thanked her. She told me I could call back once we felt better and then abruptly hung up without any response. I'm not sure whether this behavior reflects the employee herself or the pressure placed on her by management, but either way, it's unacceptable. I don't want to do business with people who are rude to their customers, nor with a company that creates an environment where employees feel it's okay, or necessary to speak to patients this way. A 48-hour cancellation policy is a large window for customers, and it is not my responsibility as a parent or patient to fill a doctor's schedule, especially when illness is involved. I can't help that my child and I are sick. This experience cost you a loyal customer. I also will not be recommending this office to anyone.

Phase 1 total cost billed at…read more$4500 ($1500 insurance, $3000 patient) while other offices are consistently around $3000 ($1500 insurance, $1500 patient). That's a 33% disparity. I discovered this when my 2nd child "needed" braces and I went out for 2nd opinions. My additional quotes came from Smile Patio and Surf and Smile, where we ultimately went with Surf n Smile at a much better price and for better service and facility. I attempted to bring this to Dr. Tu (the dentist who made the referral to ortho), and the office manager (Elizabeth) but they were unwilling to refund the difference ($1500). What's more concerning is that I discovered they took my child's entire lifetime benefit from the insurance company ($3000) as opposed to $1500 initially quoted in writing via the treatment plan. This brought the total paid to them at $6055. This appears to be an operation that funnels kids from the dentist to the in house orthodontist after a high trust relationship is established with the dentist. Very disheartening. Don't take my word, just be sure to get a 2nd and 3rd opinion. NOTE: it looks like they get to this elevated price by adding a bunch of insurance billing codes. Phase 1 braces (expanders) is billed using code D8070 which is maxed out at $3500 for "my kids dentist" . Still high, but not crazy unreasonable and is supposed to cover EVERYTHING needed for phase one 12 month treatment plan. What my kids dentist appears to be doing is adding additional billing codes that are questionable at best and not typically found among the other ortho offices I visited. Example D1999 "oral b essential kit" is $205 which they said is for the tooth brush they claim to give you after one of your visits. (Beyond being ridiculous, I never even received it) then they have D8999 "unspecified orthopedic procedure" at $600. The actual orthodontist (Dr. Shehab) almost never interacts with patients, so there was no special or additive services that warrants this charge. Dr. Shehab scrolls through his phone while 3-4 ladies install and adjust the expanders/braces you paid for, and he gives a quick look at the end. Lastly, there is a separate charge under D8606 for retainers at $250, which would seem reasonable, except every other orthodontist I visited includes retainers as part of the base phase 1 treatment plan. Again, Make your own decision. But I strongly advise that you get a print out of the estimate fore you agree to anything and get two additional quotes from any reputable orthodontists. Good luck. I hope this saves the next family $1500. I encourage you to post your finding here if you discover the same issue I have encountered here.
