The reviews on Google Maps and Yelp, especially people who've been coming here 15-20 years really stood out to me, and after my first visit I totally get it. Got in quickly through the cancellation list which I was thankful for, specifically for a cleaning and x-rays. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. The person taking my x-rays made it easy, and my hygienist was gentle and talked me through everything as she went, which I really appreciated. Dr. Chang kept it conservative and didn't push any unnecessary work. Exactly what I was looking for. Highly recommend!

That being said, this was the best dentist I have ever been to. It's across the board. Everyone, from front desk staff to my hygienist to the dentist himself was so kind. They explained the processes to me, always asking if I had questions. They did not chastise me or make me feel bad for the poor quality of my teeth. They were friendly, genuinely helpful, and personable. The office itself was the nicest dentist I've EVER been to (and my last dentist was in Beverly Hills). It's clean, modern, and a gorgeous space. It's not sterile or showing any signs of age. The space was so welcoming that it quelled many anxieties off the bat. Overall, I can't recommend this dentist enough. Even the payment portion was anxiety-free (that's a first!) as the front-desk explained to me the best approach, scheduling, and financing. Thank you, Oceanside Dental Arts!

We just had to replace some sealants I had from when I was young and my deeper fillings were still doing great. Dr.Purin did not push any treatment that I didn't need and the appointment did not feel rushed at all! I felt cared for and I loveddd the experience. The assistants also did a great job at taking my impressions for the Invisalign. Karen (the hygienist) did a great job at cleaning my teeth and she was so gentle! She reviewed my x-rays and engaged with me personally and professionally. I actually found this office because I followed the dentist specifically from the practice she used to work at. This business is hers (and her husband). All of the staff made a point of calling me by name (keep in mind this is like my 4th ever visit here). They have very comfortable chairs and a refrigerator full of water. They even had little mints and chapstick that you could take. I think it's the little touches that really make an experience great. Even their bathroom was well equipped with toothbrushes that already had toothpaste in them and mouthwash for you. Everyone was so warm and welcoming, and although they told me to plan to be there an hour and a half because I was having a dental sleep apnea appliance made, I was in and out of there in about 30 minutes or less. The girl that took all of my pictures and scanned my mouth was very nice and set me up for my next appointment before I saw the doctor so she was very efficient. The doctor was great, he asked me questions and was very thorough in explaining everything to me. I was super impressed with every single person at this practice which is very rare to find. Whoever is in charge of running the place and hiring is doing a fantastic job and this is coming from someone that is a recruiter/manager myself. I continue to get bills after the fact because they're too busy to look it up in advance, like most dental offices do. They are also understaffed. I've given them opportunities to improve, but I'm never going there again! The cleanings at this location are very basic compared to more up-to-date techniques. The dentist wanted to pull a tooth, so I got a second opinion and they were able to save it.

I've been a patient of Dr. Streelman's for a couple of years, but my most recent experience was…read moreenough for me to move on. At a prior visit, I had a crown that came loose more than once. I was surprised to be charged each time just to have it re-cemented, but at the time I didn't question it. Recently, an old filling failed, and based on my prior experience, I scheduled an appointment expecting to have a crown done. I arrived early, as usual, and was seated quickly--but then waited about 15 minutes before seeing the doctor. After a brief exam, I was told I needed a crown--which is exactly why I had scheduled the visit. After another wait, I was presented with an estimate of $2,300 (my last one here was ~$1,800 a couple years ago, so I understand pricing has gone up). I agreed to proceed. That's when I was told they didn't have time to do the procedure and I would need to come back and reschedule. This was frustrating. I had scheduled the appointment specifically for this work, arrived early, and still left without anything being done. What really pushed it over the edge was being charged for the consultation on the way out. I've since found a new dentist with a much more efficient setup--same-day crowns, lower cost, and a more professional patient experience overall. Dr. Streelman may be personable, but for me, the experience lacked the efficiency, communication, and value I expect
