She is always empathetic about my neck issues making sure I am comfortable. It is reassuring every time she asks "Are you OK" during a cleaning. She reflects the overall genuine concern Dr. Herman and his staff have shown to me, and friends I have referred report the same. The good is they have great cleaning hygienists. Dr. Herman is a good dentist. The bad, is they are "money hungry". Almost desperate. I had a stolen wallet which I told them about before going in the back. I assured them I would pay as soon as my new cards came in. The VERY next morning they called and asked if my card came in! No! I have remained a long time patient (30+ years). I credit Chris Herman for alerting me to an suspicious area on the full mouth molar xray which he said could be an infection which an endodontist should review, and he pointed out the extensive area of concern. The endodontist confirmed mine was a complicated case, and it took two separate root canal procedures to eradicate the infection as well as a calcification problem. When I returned to Dr. Herman to replace a temporary filling in my molar, he kindly explained in detail the possible causes of my infection, something I did not know and which the endodontist had not explained. I am happy that although root canals are not the most fun experience, I feel I got the best diagnosis and care all around, and that's what really counts in the long run. read more

Staff is wonderful, especially Wendy Tweed and Cindy. The dentist asked if I had any teeth bothering me (I answered 'no') and examined my mouth for 3 minutes or less on my very first visit and did not even introduce himself (although Effie told me he would be coming in so I assumed it was him). I'm under impressed by Dr. Herman himself, but he seems to have a staff that is competent so perhaps he saves his energy and effort for things that require a dentist's license. read more

Wow, so glad I read the reviews on here and came to see Dr. Herman! I had a small chip repaired, and the dentist covered my entire tooth with bond. I have always had it repaired and never had that done before. It looked terrible, didn't even match my other teeth. I have never had a good experience at a dental office until now. I was a new patient with an issue and they got me in much sooner then I would have expected. Effie was the sweetest and let me know all about their office and history. Lauren was great my teeth are very clean, she was great to talk to and very gentle. Dr. Herman was very kind and great at listening to my needs without pushing extra stuff on me like I usually get at dental offices. He gave me his recommendations and made me feel comfortable. After an emergency visit to another dentist, and being told I needed extensive work done, I went for a second opinion to see Doctor Herman who confirmed I did NOT need a root canal as I had been told. I was so happy to find an honest and caring dentist as well as staff. The office was immaculate, bright and chearful! Any hesitation or worries that I had had, vanished. I needed to be seen by an endodontist and was referred to Dr. Smith (who also was wonderful) to remove the wisdom tooth that had caused the issues to begin with. I contacted Dr. Herman after hours and he responded promptly. His first question was if I was in pain. I wasn't, so we scheduled for me to come in the next day. Two separate sports incidents as a kid chipped one front tooth and knocked out another, one tooth over. The result is that I have an original tooth, then a crown, then a original and then an implant, ALL in my front top teeth. The crown and the implant were looking worn and natural recession was causing all the teeth to look unattractive. I did a tremendous amount of research looking for a cosmetic dentist. Dr.Herman not only had excellent patient reviews, but he has won awards from both peers and patients. So I made an appointment. It's always embarrassing for me to see a new dentist because of how much work I have done. I never know what reaction I'm going to get. The only reaction I received at this office was a warm welcome, some funny conversation and a confident assurance that he could help my smile improve. He wasn't kidding! Dr. Herman is patient, kind and an artist. He gave me the option to let him pick the color or to go to the tooth "artist" and let them build a custom shade. I picked going to the artist. He didn't like one of the teeth so he sent it back to the manufacture to create another in a better shade. In the interim, the temporaries looked great and better than the original crown and implant. Complicating things, was the fact that my implant abutment was 25 years old and required some special workmanship by Dr.Herman to make the new tooth fit without replacing the abutment-but he did it! He then beautifully built up the natural teeth to hide the gum recession, and It was all basically painless as a extra bonus! I have been to many dentist. Some terrific and others not so much. Dr. Herman is outstanding in every way. I HIGHLY recommend! read more

My first time at Dr. Herman's office. I've been to a few dentists around town and have not been 100% with any of them. I immediately felt calmer than I usually do at Dentist's office. Everyone here is very kind. I initially met with Effy who did a full mouth of xrays. She has a nice British accent, besides being a lovely person. I then met with Dr. Herman. He told me what dental work I needed. I will be going back tomorrow to start the work I need done. I trust Dr. Herman will do a good job. His office gives out a good vibe. I was surprised that Dr. Herman is so young! The only reason I didn't give you a 5-star rating is because you don't offer nitrous oxide to your patients. I think nitrous is a necessity for patients' comfort. Other than that, Dr. Herman spotted something on my x-rays that indicates an infection, so that seemed to be a good catch.
