My family and I have been going to Coleman dentistry for the last 20 years. I schedule regular cleanings throughout the year. Up until recently, everything has been a 5 out of 5. I feel I've had good dental health for the last few years. I take a lot of pride in dental care. I am retired so I don't have dental insurance. But that doesn't stop Stacey the office manager to try to force-feed x-rays on me when I can't afford it. Dealing with her is like buying a used car and having to deal with "the closer". Or attending a timeshare presentation. She is abrasive and pushy, and I don't care to deal with her ever again. Therefore, I'm sad to say I am leaving the practice and looking for a new dentist. The first step in finding a great cosmetic dentist was for me the most difficult. Where do I begin? And how will I know if I made a good choice? I was familiar with the Coleman practice for 20 years because my regular dentist's office was in the same complex. Back then Dr Coleman's father was the principal at the time and his son, John worked there in partnership with his dad. Why I didn't choose Dr. Coleman 12 years ago when I had my first full mouth restoration I don't know, but the dentist I ended up choosing was the worst and most consequential choice I have ever made. It caused me no end of grief. The time came in April of 2024 to do a major upgrade to my smile and dental functionality. I decided to have a cleaning done at Dr. Coleman's office and check them out. The dental hygienist was as good as they get. The office was clean and well run. The staff was knowledgeable and high caliber and Dr. John Coleman is a delight to work with. The entire staff is a delight to work with. I could say so much more about how wonderful this practice is but suffice it to say it has now been one year since I've been going there and during that time I had a full mouth cosmetic restoration. It not only restored my smile and my occlusion but it restored my confidence. Many years ago I worked for 15 years in an Orthodontic office. Coleman advanced dentistry really makes me feel at home, I'm so lucky to have them in my backyard. The staff provides an awkwardly welcoming atmosphere that I've grown to enjoy. I'm always hydrated before and after my appointments with their waiting room amenities. They also offer the chance to brush your teeth before and theoretically after your appointments if you managed to forget. I feel like I'm really bettering my dental hygiene with all of the advice and tips I've gotten from their staff. I now make sure to invest into my dental care with quality toothpaste and toothbrushes, I no longer obliviously purchase my replacement toothbrush heads. Also, they sell prescription toothpaste at a good price that you won't find at the supermarket and that is better than Sensodyne. The only caveat I have is their complimentary toothpaste, it tends to be of lower quality lacking potassium nitrate. All in all I highly recommend this dental practice, you'll have a difficult time finding the need for someone else. read more

I've been coming here for almost 3 years now and every experience is great and feels like a warm welcome. They remember small details and also provide lots of amenities like free water bottles, juices, teas, chapsticks, and more. All of their referrals to other specialist have been just as welcoming. I stayed on as a regular dental patient and see them every 6 months or more if I need dental work. I see now Dr. John (his son) who is just as wonderful. Dr. John Coleman has been my wife doctor for her implant teeth. Dr. Coleman is an outstanding doctor. Dr. Coleman took care of my wife as she was a member of her own family. Dr. Coleman checked with my wife several time in each visit to make sure she was comfortable. My wife is very pleased with what Dr. Coleman did for her. My wife's teeth look as they are her own teeth, an outstanding job by Dr. Coleman. We used to drive about two hours to see Dr. Coleman and we have to admit it was worth it for a great job that Dr. Coleman did. Where do I even start. From the moment I walked in I knew this was going to be the right place for me. Not very often these days can you come across a dentist that treats you with as much care and hospitality that Coleman dentistry has shown me. Seeing the Dentist is not top of the fun list for most people. I have been seeing Dr. Coleman for 10+ years and now his son Dr. John. I am unfortunately one of those people with weakened enamel that is hereditary so I find myself in the chair getting procedures regularly. It has been a while since I needed anything until yesterday. To say I was terrified would have been an understatement. I couldn't eat, I was shaking, my heart was racing all the way up until I sat in the chair. Then I was reminded why I love this practice. Sara cranked up the 60's jams to give me something to concentrate on, threw a stress ball in my hand, and helped me calm down. Once I was settled, she talked me through every step that was going to happen. When Dr. John came in he makes you feel like your friends from way back with his calm bedside manner. My crown was a breeze with the help of some gas... and his steady hands. I trust Dr. John and the staff of professionals implicitly and that's why I will always recommend his practice to anyone who will listen. His front office professionals are always going above and beyond. Alisa and Stacy are kind and thoughtful. My hygienist Gillian is as good as it gets, she even stopped in just to give me a hug yesterday since she knows I get nervous. This place is so amazing! I have unfortunately been to many dentists before that have either been rude, done a poor job, or even worse- both. But, Coleman & Coleman exceeded my expectations and some. I appreciate the friendliness and helpfulness that everyone here provided; they made a dental office seem like a fun place to be which isn't the easiest to achieve! They also recommend me to great places for an endodontist and oral surgeon for my wisdom teeth. I came to Dr. Coleman and Coleman on a recommendation. They exceeded my expectations. Iwent to Western-dental in a frantic having a broken crown and and missing tooth. After going to western dental and being charged almost $5000 for an implant I didn't even really need seemed like I was being played on for my state of fear and sickness from losing a tooth. Still 5 stars after all these years. Woke up with a toothache yesterday and I had the sinking feeling my wisdom tooth had finally decided to cause problems for me. I called C&C and they were as accommodating as always and got me in yesterday afternoon. Dr John Jr has taken over handling me as a client from Dr John Sr and I will tell you the apple does not fall far from the tree. Dr John Jr was amazing and confirmed that the wisdom tooth needed to come out, Now as a reformed dentaphobe this rekindled my old fears of dentists and now I was facing an extraction. Dr John got me situated with some prescriptions and told me he would try to rework his schedule to get me in as soon as he could. 24 hours later the office called and said they could fit me in if I could get right down there. Everybody there was amazing. I mean, how do they do it? Find such pleasant caring people who clearly get along with each other and care so much for their patients. His staff is the best. Anyway, into the chair I went with all of the trepidation I had amassed in the last 24 hours and it was a breeze. Something to relax me, a bit of gas and some novocaine and it was over. Dr John's calming demeanor is identical to his fathers. If you were like me and avoided the dentist this is the place for you. After more than 10 years and now with the second generation Dentist this is still the best I've ever been to. My wife left her long term dentist last year and also goes to C&C. She agrees with my assessment that Dr John and his team are the best. read more

They've been so flexible with me since my move to LA, and today after several months of not being in town I had the pleasure of meeting a new face today, Laura. She was so sweet. Honestly I am horrified of the dentist. I hadn't been in over 7 years but I had no choice. After lots of research I decided to call the office to make a consultation appointment. I was very pleasantly surprised to learn that the consultation was free. Most of the other dentists I had looked at wanted $150 - $250 up front to be credited towards any work done in the future. What if I didn't like them?. But not this office!!! I was so nervous when I went in but Dr. John and the staff quickly made me feel very comfortable. I had the exam and x-rays and we were able to come up with a treatment plan that fit my budget and gave me the smile I have always wanted. My first appointment went without a hitch and thanks to the sedation dentistry I don't remember a thing. Now I am all finished and have a smile I can be proud of. I was in need of a cleaning, so I tried Coleman. The staff set the tone of the office. The ladies who great you when you arrive are so nice and genuinely friendly. First timers get a tour of the office (good idea) and the best first impression you could ask for. The hygienist was gentle and took her time. I knew I needed work, so I wasn't surprised when she mentioned it. I met with Dr John and was pleased with his calm demeanor. Everything I needed was explained without pressure. I could get another opinion if I wanted, and they would keep my file in case I decided to return. I've been going there for a few years now and I couldn't be happier with Coleman. Also, I've gotten the most comfortable cleaning here as well -- I think her name is Cheryl and she's booked like a month in advance! Best Dentist ever!! Have been to several Dentists throughout North County. Dr. Coleman is the best, I have always had to have root canals, fillings, name it I had it since I was a young child. Have always taken very good care by flossing and brushing... but with very little enamel not good. UPDATE: I had my cleaning today and i didnt feel an ounce of pain. This has never happened with any other dentist ive seen. Cheryl was outstanding and talked me through my entire cleaning to make sure i knew what was going on and that i remained pain free. I have never left a dentist smiling, but i did today. Cant wait to go back in May for another cleaning. I feel like im finally on the right road to a healthy smile. Im confident that this place is the answers to my fear and anxiety caused for past nightmare visits to my old dentist. This place for one is gorgeous... Doesn't smell or feel like a dentist office at all. As a new patient, my xrays and first exam was free. Dr.Coleman(the dad) is who i met today and was such a friendly, understanding and gentle man. SCAM ARTISTS! BEWARE!!! When I came into this office I was told I had 12 cavities, needed 2 crowns (from alleged cracked teeth) and it was suggested I consider Invisalign. The estimate for this work was something like $12,000. This diagnosis was totally incorrect! After believing for a few minutes that my mouth was doomed and leaving their office in tears, I quickly scheduled a second and third opinion at other dentists because it didn't add up to me how in six months since my last cleaning and checkup I could possibly have developed so many issues (especially with my religious flossing and brushing and never having missed a cleaning). Both other dentist offices said I had one small Cavity, did not need to consider braces, and absolutely did not have any cracked teeth. Coleman will convince you that you need tons of completely unnecessary work so they can make money off you. This office is full of completely unethical and immoral "dental professionals" who really should have their licenses revoked. If I could give zero stars I would. Don't be fooled by their fancy office full of frills (which come at the cost of innocent patients having unnecessary dental procedures performed). read more
