I felt hopeful after reading the reviews for this practice, as I've been dealing with a recurring infection for over a year and had already seen multiple doctors. I explained my frustration and urgency to Dr. Collins and thoroughly reviewed my symptoms and medical history. During the appointment, I shared what I believed the issue might be, and I was told that the testing being ordered would cover it.
From the start, communication was difficult. The practice advertises online scheduling, but appointments cannot actually be booked online. My initial attempts to schedule went unanswered, which was discouraging, but I proceeded based on the strong reviews.
During the appointment, there was very little discussion or education about what my symptoms could indicate. No possible causes or next steps were explained. The visit consisted primarily of listening, performing a swab, and being told it might be related to sugar intake. I was told the testing ordered would identify the issue.
After the appointment, I received little clarity or follow-up. I was not told exactly which tests were run, what they were meant to rule out, or when results would be available. When I reached out, I was given conflicting information, including being told my results were negative despite still having an active infection, and being told that someone had already called me when no such call had occurred.
When I eventually spoke directly with the doctor, she stated that someone was lying regarding whether a call had been made to explain my results. I offered to provide my phone records. She then told me she did not know what was wrong and could not guarantee that the testing ordered covered what I had described, which contradicted what I was told during the appointment. When I expressed that I had never experienced a doctor simply stating they did not know without offering guidance, she responded that doctors do not know everything.
I also shared that I was baffled by her nurse telling me that I did not have to return to the practice. The doctor agreed with that statement. Rather than offering guidance or next steps, I was told I could seek care elsewhere and was offered a refund of the $300 administrative fee.
Throughout my interactions with staff, the tone was not particularly apologetic or reassuring. Given the inconsistent information, lack of clarity, and absence of patient education or direction, this experience did not reflect the premium, patient-centered care the administrative fee suggests. I am still dealing with an unresolved infection and was seeking thoughtful medical guidance and support. read more
