I am reviewing My Eye Doctor on Shadeland Ave. Like others my initial visit was not good. I was…read moregiven a prescription for contacts that I could not wear. The prescription was not the same as my sample lenses. Because the lenses were purchased at Costco and one used before, I realized what was wrong, I was stuck with $200 of contacts I could not wear. They asked me if I would like a re-exam and I refused, what good is it going to a Dr. who already screwed up. Temple was kind and understanding but limited on what she could do. I received a questionnaire from the corporate office and filled it out with the facts (as above) It stated they would like to talk further and asked if it was ok to call. Of course. That call got action. Temple, who had already been so caring called and explained who the new Dr. was. What he would do before selling contacts and they offered a free eye exam. I agreed, with some hesitation and embarrassment. It was not necessary as they were welcoming, and the new eye Dr. spent about 45 minutes making sure the new contacts would fit. He even recognized I did not want daily wear contacts and gave me a test pair that were really comfortable. As fate would have it my husband hit my hand when I was placing a contact in my eye, and we have never found it. Upon calling, Temple, I was given a new pair and explained I didn't feel I was reading menus as well as I could. They included another contact to try, after talking with the Doctor. Contacts are now comfortable, and I am able to read a menu. I am going back again. Great difference with a doctor who knows what he is doing from one who does not.

Initially I thought Moody Eyes was named to describe the different types of glasses to choose from…read more As if each pair represented a particular mood. It turns out it may be a double entendre as it is Dr Moody's optometry one stop shop. Located on the first floor of the Saleforce Tower in the heart of Downtown Indy, Moody Eyes is an affordable destination for purchasing glasses with lots of great options to choose from. We've been coming here for many years now and much prefer it to Lens Crafters and the other pricey alternatives. Dr Moody himself is such a kind man with a great sense of humor and I dread the day he retires. I don't want to go anywhere else! His wife, Connie, also works with him and together they make a great team! It's easy to schedule an appointment online. Highly recommend it!

After looking at some frames i was told that with my "you have amazing vision insurance", I would still be required to pay nearly $100 for just a pair of single prescrition glasses. I then asked for a cheaper alternative and was told that i wouldnt be saving much money by doing so. I was then reasured how good my insurance was and how good of a deal I was getting. After several minutes of being intimidated by who I assume is Mrs. Moody, I then calmly explained how I normally do not pay for frames at the place I had previously gone. She responded with a look and tone that I can only describe as "unnecessary" and asked "well why didn't you go there then'? She was not nice, she absolutely meant it to be rude. I then said that I would not be getting glasses today and that i just want to pay for my visit. "Ten Dollars" are the only words she says next and I quietly handed her my payment, asked for my prescription to which she says "well we aren't going to give you measurements", which i replied with silence. I then proceeded to leave while promising never to return. I have never been treated so poorly by someone at a doctors office. I want to believe that I took things out of context or the wrong way but body language and tone said everything. As if they are angry because I can not afford their overpriced Luxottica frames... I will take my "had to do a double take your insurance was so good" and go somewhere better.

I was extremely satisfied with the level of eye care I received. The physician was very thorough…read moreand answered all of my concerns, I learned so much from her. I am in my seventies and an have worn glasses since 4th grade and gone through numeral eye exams, I must say this time was the best. Although the exams was very good, the service was very poor. When ordering my glasses I was told that I would receive a summary of my exam via email. That never happened. I only received the summary after I contacted my eye care person. It took several days after that for me get my summary. I was told my glasses would be in in 2 weeks, but they were not. After 3 weeks I called inquiring about the glasses. I was put on hold and waited for some time. The person came back to the phone and asked me for some personal information, and I was put on hold again. That person came back and let me know that my glasses were in and told me the they had not been displayed yet. I asked her how long that had been at the shop she implied, for some time. In short I think Progressive's service people need to step up to where their Optometrists are.

I think I finally found my go-to place to see an optometrist and get glasses!…read more It all started with me visiting on a whim when I needed my glasses adjusted. I wasn't even a patient of theirs, and they adjusted my glasses for free (and with a smile). So I told myself that when I needed an eye checkup and to buy some new specs, I'd go here. Cut to months later. I visited to get an annual eye exam and look for glasses. The optometrist I saw, Dr. Fiechter, was SO professional and nice, and took the time to explain the intricacies of my eye health to me -- no eye doctor had ever done that before. She even showed me images of the back of my eye, and explained what we were looking at. She wasn't just going through the motions. I wasn't planning on getting my eyeglasses here, but this place has so many different brands and styles of glasses that I ended up finding the perfect pair here. My glasses were ready a whole week earlier than scheduled, which was just perfect. I can't recommend Progressive Eyecare and Eyewear enough!

This review is for the mural and not the business. This is not only a mural, but an advertisement…read morefor Machja Eye Care. It is attention grabbing and very interesting. You cannot help but look. It is on the front of the building and wraps around both sides. It was painted in 2016 and is the work of Justin Oloson of Olson Studios. The right side of the mural depicts a close up of a bright blue-eyed person with glasses on set against a colorful wavy background. The front has the building's address hidden into an eye chart and a brown eyed man with glasses on and the colorful waves behind the eye chart and to the mans right. The left side of the building has a blonde-haired, blue-eyed woman, yep, you guessed it, with eye glasses, looking at the colorful waves that are in front of her. I like the colors used in the mural. The colorful waves contrast very well with the background. And even though it is somewhat basic, the artwork is on point, Olson is very talented. The mural is in excellent shape and looks pretty fresh. Parking here to get a closer look is pretty simple. You can pull into the clinic's parking lot or snag a free spot on the street, get out and look as long as your heart desires. I just parked on the street in front of the clinic. Anyway, as with most murals that I have visited and reviewed, this is not a long stop. I was there less than 5 minutes. So, you may want to consider planning out additional stops at many of the other attractions in the area, or making this stop part of a larger itinerary to maximize your time and trip.
