We said, No thank you, we will just rent it. Took the stupid thing out for a total of 6 hours and the light started blinking, the next thing you know it's only running 5 miles per hour. We managed to ride it back to the rental company before they closed and swap it out! They had no problems swapping it out...obviously they knew it had issues! They told us...oh it might be the pump, I'll have my husband look at it, maybe you picked up rocks??? Or maybe NOT! This isn't our first time...we're out on the lake every Labor Day! A week and a half later my credit card it charged over $800 for the repair! I've got no description of work preformed or service done. When my sister called to see what the deal was, she was like oh ya, I picked up the parts today and my husbands going to fix it...save you guys some money ! Really!!!! Then I called and she was unwilling to speak to me and HUNG UP ON ME!!!! I guess I'll see you in small claims court! Not only that...bad yelp reviews are going to cost you a lot more! Stay away from this place!!!!!

I came across The Reel Thing July 27, 2016. My cousin and I had just pulled the boat up into the shade so we could start prepping it for the week ahead of fishing. Shortly after we began our setup a gentleman came down the hill in a golf cart. He circled around the boat and asked, "Are you guys going to be here long?" We replied with a friendly no. The next thing you know this gentleman introduced himself as Bob and began telling us about the fish. Bob gave my cousin and I so much detailed information our brains almost exploded. Bob then let it be known he is a guide on Shasta and has many years on Shasta and other lakes. Bob's friendly demeanor and willingness to provide so much information to non paying people was so amazing. He was not trying to sell us a guided trip. He didn't tell us to get off his lake. A Wonderful Adventure! I rented the Empress Houseboat and a…read morePatio Boat from Holiday Harbor for a family vacation. Summary: the boats worked very well, no problems. My 13 family members had a great time. The crew at HH are very good people and very helpful. The natural waterslide and tubing was a highlight of the trip (according to the kids). Wear good water shoes if you visit the waterslide as you have to hike a bit to get there. I have rented houseboats at other marinas on Shata before. Holiday Harbor had more flexible rental schedule (any day out and any day in) than other marinas. The orientation was excellent, office & dock people were great. We brought a propane firepit for s'mores on the shore each night, we brought folding chairs to have on the shore for quiet time with a book and the firepit. The lake was down 53' which for Shasta is nothing as it is so big and deep. It is actually better (IMHO) to have the lake down a bit so you can park the boat on land and use other boats (that use less fuel) for traveling the lake. The family wants to go back soon and that is the best recommendation.

My 2500th review!…read more Because they feared Bailey Cove was too shallow, my in-laws asked to pick me up at Holiday Harbor. First, they wouldn't sell me a $5 parking pass unless I knew someone who rented a boat, so luckily the last name I used "Hanson" worked. They asked "Scott Hanson?" and I'm like, yeah, sure. Second, parking was full (as one might expect on the Saturday before Memorial Day at 4pm), so we had to park in an overflow lot. This meant getting an escort to the lot and a shuttle back to the harbor AND it meant having to estimate a specific time to come back, which is hard when you're depending on a bunch of party boat people for the ride back (I'm looking at you, Scott Hanson. Still, though I had to go through some hassles, the three guys who helped us, including Joe and Hamilton (who are just Frank and Reynolds shy a yacht rock band) were super friendly and helpful.

His North River boat is the best laid out and designed jet boat I have ever fished out of. Extremely confortable and open design makes sure nothing interferes with getting your fish to the boat. Myself being left handed he even has the tackle diversity to offer my choice of which hand I want to reel with in both levelwind and spinning tackle. When fishing is tough he knows the secrets to give you the edge on the competition, many developed by him and also local history to keep the day interesting. Great for all ages male and female, he got my daughter hooked on fishing and that gives us something else to share throughout the future. He is honest about the quality of fishing and isn't just looking to take you for a boat ride.
