    Oh Deer!

Jones Valley House Boat Review Our extended family just returned from our 2nd annual house boat vacation with Jones Valley House Boats, and we highly recommend this company, this location and this form of vacationing with a group.  We're already planning our return for next year! We rented an Excapade, which comfortably slept 8 people without having to convert the couch or the kitchen table for beds.  We could've easily accommodated 3-4 more people. The boat was really well-outfitted in the kitchen. The BBQ was great! They provide plenty of white plastic chairs and even though both years we brought comfortable camp chairs, we 've decided they really aren't necessary.  The white chairs are awesome! They provide one cooler, a drip coffee maker, and a toaster.  The refrigerator is a full-size refrigerator, so even though we used coolers to transport perishable items on our long drive to the lake, we don't use them during the week because on the upper deck there is a small refrigerator to keep drinks.  We brought inflatable paddle boards, blow-up floating mattresses and fishing gear.   Office staff have been very friendly and accommodating.  Each trip they come out to the boat to orient you and help you learn how to use the boat.  For RVers out there, it's easy! Others will want to ask a lot of questions to understand the electrical panel and take notes during your orientation.  When you arrive, they are so friendly and helpful, bringing large dock carts right to your car to help you load all your items into the carts and drive everything to the front door of the house boat.  They also have someone who drives back and forth from the parking lot down to the dock giving people rides, which is so appreciated especially during those hot days!  Their team is so efficient and friendly at all times.  We researched all the house boat companies at Lake Shasta and are really happy we picked Jones Valley because of their exceptional quality, value, scheduling, and friendliness.  We're already looking forward to our 3rd annual trip with Jones Valley House Boats 2027!

WE LOVE JONES VALLEY! Every year we bring 200+ students to Lake Shasta for our college ministry. We use Jones Valley Houseboats, and every year have been blessed by how helpful the employees are. They always are quick to help carry things, load and unload, answer questions, etc. Their training is always clear and helpful. I can imagine it's hard for them to juggle 200 college students with luggage and questions, but they do it well. They've always been so accommodating and flexible with us.

Ive attended coming to Shasta lake for Memorial day weekend Houseboats trip for 4 years now, and have always gone through Jones Vally Resort. First of all, their staff is so kind, well organized, and is very clear about ensuring that you have a super fun and safe time when you are on the lake. Considering how busy it can get during this time of year, they are always willing to help out where you need it, and make you feel incredibly welcomed. This is always the first marina I recommend to friends heading to Shasta for the first time. Even when mistakes happen on the lake (damages, or issues with boats, etc), they're always kind and willing to come out to help.

Spent a week on Lake Shasta and man was it AMAZING! We have been coming to Jones Valley since before houseboats.com bought them, and every time it's an amazing experience! The staff Bob, Tim and Ryan and all super helpful and great people! If you have a problem they will fix it!

    Sunset after a summer storm

Had an Amazing time on our Family Houseboat Trip. This is our 3rd Year with this Resort and we will be back every summer. This Crew is so Friendly and always quick to help with whatever we need. Paula at the front desk is the Best and I can't even begin to describe how grateful we are for the team that Manager Ryan has put together to make this resort what it is today. Thank You So Much Ryan for giving My Family an Amazing Vacation for the 3rd year in a row. See you next year! :))

Houseboating has always been a favorite vacation for our family. I have been taking houseboat vacations for over 40 years. In Northern California, Jones Valley Resort is by far our favorite! We return every summer, greeted by friendly and helpful staff, who know me by name. Little extras they offer, such as unloading your truck, and carrying your things on board for you, really give it an extra special touch. They have also done some upgrades to their houseboats; they are truly luxury on the lake. Jones Valley Resort makes you feel like family, like you belong there. Can't wait till this summer!!

How much is the parking? Where do you park?

If you rent a boat parking is free. There are several parking lots some of the areas are temporary parking. There is a parking manager that will show you where to park depending on how long you are going to be parked.

Shortly after we began our setup a gentleman came down the hill in a golf cart. He circled around the boat and asked, "Are you guys going to be here long?" We replied with a friendly no. The next thing you know this gentleman introduced himself as Bob and began telling us about the fish. Bob gave my cousin and I so much detailed information our brains almost exploded. Bob then let it be known he is a guide on Shasta and has many years on Shasta and other lakes. Bob's friendly demeanor and willingness to provide so much information to non paying people was so amazing. He was not trying to sell us a guided trip. He didn't tell us to get off his lake. What I believe is most important in a guide, over just catching fish, is Darrin is SAFE and responsible. I trust him to guide on trips across any body of water with the most valuable person in the world to me; my son. That cant be said for all guides. With all of that said...Darrin is suburb at fishing all types of fish species across all types of water. He is patient with new anglers as well as kids. Starting as a new fisherman myself Darrin taught me the skills of Fly Fishing that I have developed over the many years of fishing with him. On top of that Darrin taught my son when he began fly fishing at the age of 12. We have caught more Steelhead, native trout, strippers and bass than I can count. I would highly recommend Darrin for any California, Oregon, Idaho fishing trips. I would not hesitate to contact him for any other trips or states you plan to fish solo or with your family. Darrin I'm happy to be used as a reference for any of your clients. Feel free to have them call me direct.

I begged for a miracle- single lady on a lake with a bunch of kids, and he took me to see his manager to plead my case. I even offered them $100 cash for any gas they might have... manager said no.
