We discovered Chris Glance originally through Yelp and the positive customer reviews there, so we gave him a shot after we'd experienced months of frustration with the poor service we received, time and again, from the service department at a local Chevrolet dealership. Thanks to Chris and his staff, we were finally able to get to the bottom of a burning-oil smell in the Chevrolet Sonic that has been a problem for months. Over the past several months, we took the car back to the dealer service center because the car was still at that time under the original warranty and is now under an extended warranty. Every time, the dealer claimed that there was no oil leak. Chris Glance Automotive was able to find and repair the leak that was in fact very real. Chris and his staff took extra time to call to make sure of what repairs were covered by extended warranty since our vehicle was still covered. Not only are Chris and his staff very helpful. They are also reasonably priced. Chris had probs with his " computer " system . My car was tbere all day . When he told me what happened I said , " That is okay , I will pick up now . I said " Please call me when you have an availability . I waited .. two days , no call . I called and made an appt . I was late as my appt was early in the am I apologized and just merely wanted to drop car off for an inspection . He was very , very rude and after all of this said " You were late " I'm not doing it " I was only a half an hour late. I'm a very easy going person and said I understood but reminded him kindly of all of the delays , etc " Take your car somewhere else !! " , he said I was stunned and could not speak . I've gotten my car inspection there the last few years. Never had any issues. Always friendly and the prices seem fair.

I needed my AC compressor replaced and I made an appointment with Chris Glance Automotive. I had to wait for couple of weeks in the hot, 90 degree weather for them to fit me. When I finally went to my appointment, I was quoted 2 hour job. Then when the car was ready in 90 min, I asked what my charge would be. It was $374 for hour and a half of service. $220 for two hours "service", which was done in 90 min, $115 for refilling my freon (a bottle of this cost $15 in Walmart) and $5.99 for one part. The rest was taxes. Basically, they took advantage of my situation. I work 3-5 business days for that money and when I asked if it's going to be cheaper since they did the work quicker than expected, the lady laughed at me.... Reply to Chris: Clearly you were only thinking about your family and not mine. There is absolutely no way for you to justify that big charge. When I originally asked how much is it going to cost me, the answer was: the amount of labour for 1.5 - 2 hours. Nobody mentioned the added cost. From two hours of labour to $374 there is a huge difference. Not to mention that when I needed new struts and brakes, you quoted me $1350 plus. We bought the parts online and called another shop that did the job for $170, which is the cost for 2 hours labour there. Your labour was more than $350 for the same job. My total cost for the struts and brakes was $410, not $1350. I think I made my point. The only reason I came to you again was because there was no other shop in the area that was working on AC repairs. That is called taking advantage of the situation. read more

I've been back two times since my original review. I am just so grateful that 1. Chris and Julie even exist and 2. That they exist so close to where I live!! I was concerned about a leaky tire one day on my way home from work so I pulled in. Even though it was closing time Chris took the time out to check my tire for me! What a relief. Seriously. Chris Glance gave me the best price for service that I could find within the 6 or so shops I called. When I went to pick up my car, a path in the snow had been shoveled from the door of the business to the driver's side of my car, and my car had recently been running so that it was warmed up when I drove it, even though my car was finished the day prior. The customer service and prices here are unmatched. The most "mom and pop" business I have found in an age of commercialism. read more

Chris Glance Automotive is where I've been going for routine maintenance, required repairs and tire mounting & balancing for more than 5 years. Chris is great to work with, will explain what needs to be done and why. He is also *determined* to get to a root cause, figure it out and then do the fix. Very fair pricing. Julie who works at the counter is also easy to work with, great with scheduling and finding parts. This kind of establishment is rare and precious.
