Souvlaki Platter
Scott M.

So, they haven't been re-opened for too long. They were packed tonight so the service was slow, waited for 10 minutes for a menu in a "seat yourself" joint. Tried to order a combo plate and was told they "were too busy". That might need to change or put a disclaimer on the menu. For the goods, the food is just as good as it used to be at the old location and the prices are still reasonable. The decor is white walls with Greek art and some interesting decor option that they brought over from the d location.

Pasticio

I had not gone to Chris Charcoal Pit since before it was destroyed by the tornado. Decide to try the New location. Ordered Pasticio which comes with a salad and pita bread. It was very dry, no flavor, very little meat and sauce. It was covered in oregano. Lots béchamel sauce. Not impressed. The previous Pasticio that was served when they were on West Street tasted like Pasticio this does not. I don't know what happened to the recipe. Also, you do not serve Pasticio with pita bread unless this is the new modern style.

Gyros
Luan D.

I've heard good things about this place. It relocated to a new location in Edgewater , after a long absence in Annapolis because of destruction by tornado. My review is only based on my gyros sandwich. It may seem unfair and I agree. Here, gyros packs 2-3 times more meat than any other gyros from elsewhere. To me, it is more meat than I think necessary. Onion is chopped up too small to give texture to each bite. There was no lettuce. Instead, a few slices of cucumber were added. Tomato's was ripened and flavorful. Unfortunately, there was not enough sauce to last the entire sandwich. So, overall, the gyros was not what so expected. After taxes, my gyros sandwich alone was about $13.78. The gyros is nothing to write home about. I am not giving up on this joint just yet. I will try again and hopefully will give higher rating.

I was finally in the area and got a chance to go in person and wow, the experience of eating the food fresh there was even better - although I must say this food does travel very well. I wish I caught the young man's name, who was the cashier, but he was great! He was very friendly, just seemed like a good, hardworking kid. I wanted a classic so I just got the gyro platter, the Greek fries and the soup. The soup is so good and reminds me of my favorite Greek place back home in chicago, I used to eat this type of soup every weekend with my family. Ingredients are fresh here and quality is always A1. The Greek fries are my favorite and a guilty pleasure. They are so flavorful and have the best texture. The gyro was also very filling and they really don't skimp out here with their toppings. I'm an extra sauce kinda gal and here, they really just go above and beyond without you ever needing to ask them. I wish I had a closer location in DC! Manifesting a central dc location soon! thanks to your staff for a wonderful meal!

I checked yelp and it had great reviews so I decided to give it a try. Best decision I made all day. The service I received was amazing. The cashier was super patient. I couldn't figure what I wanted so he had me describe what I had in mind and helped me order. My salad was fresh and delicious. My chicken skewers were so juicy. My potatoes were a bit greasy but tasted perfect. The price and portion were reasonable and don't get me started on the pita bread and the tzatziki sauce. I'll be back...

This lovely house turned restaurant has been on my go-to list for a long time and it did not…read moredisappoint. We started with the calamari and hummus dip. The calamari was perfectly breaded and crispy. The hummus had a great blend of garlic, parsley, a bit of cayenne and red chili flakes with lemon and paprika. All these ingredients make a plain hummus extra tasty. Our two main entrees consisted of the broiled Atlantic salmon with asparagus and Greek potatoes and the Yero plate containing rotisserie beef and lamb slices serviced over pita, with tzatziki, and salad. The salmon was impressively at the perfect temperature. I thoroughly enjoyed my entire meal. The Yero plate had the best slices of beef and lamb. They were soft and absolutely well prepared. Our dinner was accompanied with two musicians who played lovely traditional Greek songs. The music was not too loud and we were able to have a nice conversation at our table. Service was a tad slow towards the end of our meal. We were seated in the basement and there was a time when not a single server was on the floor. Water service was lacking and odd -- we waited quite some time for a refill and when someone did come, only one of us got the refill when we both needed water! Still, I loved the food and atmosphere. Parking: Plenty in the back of the restaurant.

Overall, we were disappointed with our experience…read more Pros: The restaurant jtself is nice--the location is convenient, the open air dining was lovely, and there was ample parking. Cons: The service was not great. They have lots of staff--someone to light the candles, someone to bring the water, someone to take our order, someone to bring out the appetizer, someone to bring out drinks, someone to bring out entrees, etc. But there was very little follow up along the way. Our waters never got filled again. Our server took our drink order right away, but took a long time to come back to take our food order. Despite that, we still got our drinks well after the appetizer came out. The next time we saw the server was when we were done eating. The food should have been better for the price as well. We shared the grilled halloumi cheese appetizer. The cheese was cold by the time it got to us, and the plate came with two small olives--just two. At that point, don't bother. I had the bronzini, which had a good flavor, but was mostly skin. There was very little fish attached to two filets. My wife had the scallops. The entree came with five or six (can't remember exactly) medium-sized scallops. My wife described them as "forgettable," with very little thought to presentation (some of the scallops were laying on their side on the plate. The asparagus was overcooked. Unfortunately we both left still kind of hungry, and definitely put off.
