Not sure why there are so many poor reviews on this place to be honest. The food is good, and in my opinion this place has way better chicken than jollibee and whatever other restaurant you go to (I will die on my shield on this).the service is what you would expect from a fast food place. Been coming here since I was a kid with my mom and we'd go here after shopping for groceries at the seafood city. A lot of these Yelp reviewers gotta grow up. And another thing! Try the halo halo, try the Taho, try their food cause it's delicious the chicken is crispy the pancit is just the right amount of greasy, the food is freakin delicious man. I've been going here for forever and never had a problem with this place, even when it's busy. I understand that from a customer perspective wait times and customer service can be frustrating, but from a human perspective I can relate to not having a lot of help working behind the register, and cooking meals. On a hot day, anything cold is good. But this halo-halo was on another level. Textures and flavors took my mind off the heat. The Lumpiang Shanghai looked a lot different in person than it did on the picture un on the menu which was a bummer. However, that didn't stop us from eating them. The service was fast considering the line was 6 to 7 persons deep for the time I waited for my order to be ready for pickup. Real bad customer service. There were 2 people working on the cash register- one elderly lady and a young woman. No acknowledgement or eye contact. I gave my order and both continue to ignore me for like 3 minutes like they didn't hear anything.The older lady must be deaf or just plain rude.She just walked away after working on the register with a sour face.The other girl finally took my order and when I asked for an extra packet for my siopao , she said it'll cost me 11 cents. WTF! The owners should really monitor how their employees treat their customers which is extremely crappy. Not coming back here again. ChowKing! I totally heart the Siopaos, pork buns and the Filipino ice cream dessert called halo halos. Those are my go-to's! But today I changed it up and tried their New sweet and sour chicken rice bowl, that comes with a drink and I chose their Calamansi juice which tastes more like tea, got some 3-pc siomai and halo halo for late to go. Ithe siomai wasn't too oily or soft it was just right, easy to eat and so yummy! I was not found of the calamansi juice it's usually good but today I tasted like tea. Packaging was good just enough to fit in the food not too packed. I noticed they reduced their halo halo size;( but it's still Good! Have to review this place for what it is. A fast food, Filipino food place. It's a nice change of pace from other fast food places. The fried chicken is really crispy. I've had better, but I've also had much much worse. This is pretty decent. The pork when I was there was a bit too much fat, and not enough meat. The garlic rice is pretty good, but that's hard to mess up. The food isn't super fast, but it's it all sitting under heat lamps either. 2 star place, 1 extra star for the convenience of Filipino food semi quickly. The worst customer service I've ever seen. Makes me embarrassed to call this place a Filipino joint. We went here cuz we needed to eat. When we went to the counter, there was one woman doing register and one on her phone in front of customers. Openly. That same woman kept going to the back, chatting away, and not helping her coworker in the front. We waited for our order for quite some time and when it finally came out, they didn't even bother calling our names. Luckily the food tasted fine but it doesn't make up for the horrible customer service. Management needs to clean up their act. The woman doing the register was left alone while it was super busy. I always search for Chowking whenever I am traveling as this is one of my favorite place to eat. Their food is always fresh! The fried chicken is crunchy and the Beef Wonton soup always hit the spot. Where to begin? First of all, the restaurant itself is misleading. This should be called "King Fried Foods". The menu is of a picture which is cool but I still had to ask what is included their Lauriat Meal deal. The staff somewhat shows some distance to certain ethnics or to some filipinos who don't speak the language. Unprofessional in my opinion and felt like I was shunned by them just because I asked way too many questions about the menu. The back seating area where the drinks are at was all wet at the time I was there. There was 2 staff there just kicking it at a table. One was holding the mop while sitting down and the other one was sipping on Pepsi at the drink machine. The food was sort of ok. But really I think there is better fast food restaurants that is worth the money. There isn't much to write about it as in my opinion THERE WAS NO "WOW, BAM, AHHHH YEAH" feeling about the food. It was more "Sigh, Ho Hum, I guess I'll have that type of feeling. Its inside of Seafood City Supermarket's food court. There were plenty of seats because it was pretty empty. There were 2 sizes -- a regular ~$4 and a king size which is a dollar extra ~$5. 1.5 stars don't understand why they were the busiest food place in the plaza? first off, service was bad. My family and I went here for breakfast last week. The food was mediocre. Some were too salty and some were too bland. They provided horrible customer service. They made a mistake on our order but didn't bother correcting it. We complained but all we got was "you should just try it and enjoy it. It's really good." I will not come back. Besides Jollibee, Chowking is the other popular fast-food restaurant that made its way to America. It's Filipino fast food with Chinese inspired dishes. They serve popular Pinoy breakfast rice plates throughout the day, soups, dimsums, other rice plates and savory desserts and drinks. I enjoy their breakfast plates the most since they come with rice, egg and either pork or fish. I'm also a fan of their skinny egg rolls (lumpia shanghai) and BBQ pork buns (siopao), pretty addicting. Other favorites like halo-halo and taho are also served here. This location is a nice add to the already Asian plaza. You can access it through the Seafood City entrance, or enter their "back" through the parking lot. Did it come with pearls like it was advertised? Nope, they said they didn't have any. - Flavor was totally off... It was flavorless, yet way too sweet at the same time. - Tastes nothing like the sweet tofu you get at dim sum restaurants. Coconut Pandan Shake: - I LOVE pandan flavored things, ESPECIALLY in my Che, but this was also way too sweet. It tasted artificial.
