I was very disappointed with my experience. I ordered a pup patty for my dogs and, fortunately, I checked it before giving it to them. To my surprise, the patty contained onions. As many pet owners know, onions are toxic to dogs and can cause serious health issues. Since a pup patty is specifically requested for a dog, I would expect staff to be aware of this and take extra care when preparing it. Thankfully, I noticed the onions before my dogs ate it, but another pet owner may not be so lucky. Always a nice place to get a quick (usually) bite. I used to be a regular of the 4x1 for the protein but felt there was too much meat to cheese so now I get the 3x1. Another hack to save is to get fries with grilled onions and then ask for spread, so then you have a much cheaper animal style fries minus the cheese. Only improvement is adding an app for frequent customers although they do enough business it's probably not a priority. There was no wait to order, and it was ready in exactly 10 minutes (they called out 13 order numbers in that time frame, so they definitely worked quickly). This was my first time trying this item, and it was more filling than I thought, even without all the carbs, a little messy, but worth it for the delicious grilled onion wrap along with juicy flavorful meat and melted cheese. I've never gotten bad quality of food here. Yes the drive thru lines can get ginormous at times, but that happens at almost every In-N-Out location, and they do a pretty good job here in Milpitas at maintaining efficiency in the process of serving customers to minimize wait times. I went on Sunday, 5/25/25 around 1:30 pm. This is hands down the rudest In-N-Out. The young man taking the order could barely mumble out the question of what I would like. As he walked up I said hello and asked him how he was doing. It was a struggle for him to respond and when he answered he didn't return the greeting, which is fine, but I thought In-N-Out is supposed to be known for having polite customer service. As he finished with me I said have a good day and nothing. It's basic manners to respond in kind. I know it sucks to work on the weekend, and it gets super busy there, but you made a choice to work at this place. And I know everyone has bad days but part of learning to be professional is learning to suck it up and put your personal business to the side while at work. The young man at the window taking the payments was the only polite one there. He was incredibly pleasant and sweet. The young woman handing out the orders didn't say hello or anything, just barked out what my order was and shoved the box at me. I thought they had forgotten the two pup patties I had ordered because where would they go inside of the box with two other exposed (Flying Dutchman) burgers? Well, when I asked her she couldn't have been more annoyed. She rolled her eyes at me and told me they were in the box. And they were in the box, but they had taken the pup patties and put them in a bag, which they sat on top of one of the Flying Dutchmen (mine of course lol) so it was stuck to the cheese. Umm...why would they serve it that way?? Sticking a bag on top of melted cheese seems like it would be common sense that the bag is going to stick to the cheese. As I hit the stoplight I pulled out the pup patties for my impatient dog and handed him one. He is big, so the whole patty is tiny compared to him. I didn't double check the patty before handing it to him. But he promptly dropped it on me and that's when I noticed the patty was covered in small, chopped, grilled onions. Onions are freaking toxic to dogs!! Nice going In-N-Out. When I looked at the bag at the next stoplight I saw that there were a bunch of onions at the bottom of the bag. I couldn't get a good picture of all of them, but you can clearly see the onion pieces on a patty that is meant for a dog in the picture. This is so irresponsible!! The food was hot and tasted alright though, which is a plus. But, I would give negative stars if possible for giving me something that could be toxic to my dog. That's just not ok. read more

We were in need of a quick meal, and In-N-Out got the job done. Of course, there was a line in the drive-through when we came by for a weekend lunch. However, with the help of the staff member taking orders on her tablet, we were able to move through the line relatively quickly and get our food. We changed our minds at the last minute about eating this at home and decided to pull back around and sit at one of the tables they had out front. You can go inside and grab some of their plastic red serving trays to eat your meal. All our food was delicious, in the In-N-Out way. Even our picky toddler happily ate his plain cheeseburger. You have the option of getting plain or grilled onions on your burger and note that all of the burgers now come automatically with "spread", or animal sauce. However, the spread comes in a separate package on the side so you can choose how much of it you want to put on your meal. The fries here are not very crispy but I actually don't mind it. I really don't know what to say if you haven't tried in n out living in California. All I can really talk about is that this location gets pretty busy, the car line is always long during peak hours. This is the go to spot if you're in college/high-school/ and elementary school if your parents can bring you. The burgers taste the same throughout all In N out locations. It'd been years since I'd been to an In-N-Out. This location in Milpitas was just like the others I've been to (https://www.yelp.com/collection/Fdeq6CMPiSFry8VX4e0g_w/In-N-Out-Burger): great. In-N-Out is one of the best fast food chains in America, but it doesn't have a national footprint like, for example, Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A. Currently, In-N-Outs are only out west, going as far east as East Texas. What continues to set In-N-Out apart is the high quality and freshness of their ingredients, their generous serving sizes, affordable prices that stay within the fast food tier, good customer service, and consistently clean restaurants (dining rooms and restrooms). This location in Milpitas was no exception. In terms of quality control over both the product and service, I think only Chick-fil-A is on the same level as In-N-Out. You get much better quality of food and service per dollar spent at In-N-Out compared to most other fast food chains. That's the difference. Another thing I like about In-N-Out is their food looks as good as advertised (and it tastes as good as it looks). The employees put a lot of thought and care into assembling each burger. At our visit to this location in Milpitas, my wife and I had two Animal-Style Double-Doubles (double meat, double cheese at $5.10 per burger), two orders of Animal-Style fries ($4.35 each), a Neapolitan shake (chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry, regular size at $2.90), and a medium fountain drink ($2.15). As you can see from the prices, In-N-Out maintains low prices. They do it without sacrificing quality, so you get great value. By default, every Double-Double comes with two beef patties, two American cheese slices, lettuce, raw onion, tomato, and Thousand-Island-like spread. "Animal Style" means the patties are cooked with mustard and pickles, extra spread, and grilled onions are added. For fries, Animal Style means two slices of melted cheese, spread, and grilled onions on top. Animal Style is good, but I don't think it's necessary. Animal Style is definitely messier than "plain," but it's still not as messy as a loaded Five Guys burger. Animal Style or not, you'll get a delicious and satisfying five-star burger from In-N-Out. Speaking of Five Guys, I enjoy Five Guys burgers as well as Shake Shack burgers. I think In-N-Out is better. You can see and taste the difference in quality. That said, I wouldn't turn down a burger from either of those places. I mean, I like McDonald's and Burger King burgers too, but they're rungs below. The Double-Doubles we had here in Milpitas were fresh, juicy, and delectable. In general, I'm not as big of a fan of In-N-Out's fries (they're a little too plain in taste and texture for me, by default), but I can still discern the difference in ingredient quality and freshness. I thought the Animal-Style fries we had here were solid. I forgot how good the Neapolitan shakes are. In-N-Out's shakes are made with real ice cream. Their consistency is smooth and not thick, drinkable through a straw. Again, you don't have to go Neapolitan if you get a shake. The flavors by themselves are already incredibly tasty. Something interesting I noticed during our Friday lunch visit to this In-N-Out in Milpitas was all the middle-aged Vietnamese customers, groups, couples, moms and dads, etc. One of my Vietnamese-American friends, who I met through Yelp in Atlanta, she and her parents are from Milpitas and this was their In-N-Out. There are a lot of Vietnamese Americans in Santa Clara County and the Greater San Jose Area. read more
