I've been going to this specific Jack in the Box location for 25 years, as long as I've lived in Milpitas. I've gone to this place well over 100 times in that time period have never really had a problem with them. Probably 75% of the time I go through the drive-through and order verbally, because I'm going home or to work with an order for multiple people. I've never used the Jack app, to be honest -- verbal orders are fast enough at this location and I've never seen the drive through line, day or night, come close to the street. All that being said, though, we have not gone inside this Jack in the Box for 2 years during the pandemic. Prior to the pandemic, the inside was always very clean and new-looking, although we only ate-in 20-30% of the time. Maybe since the pandemic they've had staff problems or shortages? It doesn't seem a lot of people want to do this work any more, and I don't blame them. But, I will say that I've used the drive-through at this location about 4-6 times in the past year and never had a single problem with the staff or the food I drove away with. This has got to be the WORST location ever. I just got home after receiving my order at 6:45 PM on 3/4/26. Whomever cooked my onion rings did a horrible job. Half the onion rings were burnt to a crisp, extremely greasy and clearly sitting out in old grease for God knows how long before being packaged and served to me. A late night stop after picking up my niece from her job. Now, an employee must have called in sick because the drive thru line was so slow, with only 1 vehicle in front. I ordered 1 meal, the teriyaki bowl, no chicken (vegetarian) extra veggies and sauce and a shake instead of a drink ( I'll play extra) plus the meal comes with an egg roll. So, you all want my first impression of this place? Well, here it goes. The service may be good, and the food might be fantastic, just like at other Jack in the Box restaurants that I've been to. However, their lack of effort in picking up the disgusting trash that people leave around the front entrance and dining area, or preventing the vandalism that takes place inside the bathroom, is pure laziness. It's like they don't even care or value your concerns at all. As a daily customer who only wants to visit this location for the great food experience and atmosphere, I am disappointed. They've totally lost their commitment as employees to uphold the rules set by the Jack in the Box company to always provide a clean appearance, great service, and respect to their customers. Instead, they have failed terribly. Sometimes, they even lack the speed and preparation of the food when it comes to delivering the demands their customers have requested. It's truly embarrassing. Lastly, not to mention, they decided to establish this location surrounded by many apartment residents. I ordered for delivery using their app. They use Uber drivers to deliver their food. It came missing 2 large drinks and a plain burger for my child. One item I normally let go as it's too much of a hassle to contact and complain. However, missing 3 items is unacceptable. I tried calling the store with the number listed on Yelp and on the order info and either get hung up on or get a garbled noise and then hung up on. I tried calling Uber support but they said since I used the Jack app I need to contact their customer service. I tried calling the delivery person directly but the number they provided is no good. Says all calls are blocked. I like Jack in the Box. In fact, that used to be my preferred choice in junk food but I haven't been eating there in ages due to the fact that it's high in calories, fat, and carbohydrates. If I were to indulge, I would rather experience my intake at a restaurant, not a fast food chain. My sister and I decided to come here for 2 reasons: 1) her fries and 2) my diet soda. We were given a code to text for 2 free tacos during the Sharks game but we didn't care for it because I remembered it after I ordered - but staff were nice enough to add it to our order w/o any problem. When at the window, I did a few impulse orders however, I did not feel any remorse. I tried the new Pizza Bites (3 for $1.99). The thing comes w/ marinara but because I ripped into it so quickly, I didn't see the sauce till afterwards. The pizza bites reminded me of those Totino's things... fried perfectly and bursting w/ pizza-flavor. I also ordered the $6 Jack's Munchie Meal (available after 9PM). I opted for the Exploding Cheesy Chicken. A box comes w/ fries, 2 tacos, and the featured item. The tacos were so crappy yet so delicious. The fries were overly seasoned but what I enjoyed was the sandwich... the cheese sticks made this sandwich awesome. I'd order it again. Went to this Jack in the Box location on Saturday around 1:30p via the drive thru. Employee Lucifer Miles (unsure if real name) took order and my debit card and had me drive around and wait in the front parking lot for my order. Lucifer gave me my meal without my debit card (my bad for forgetting). Went home to eat and rested all day at home. Woke up the next morning and realized my debit card was missing and saw 5 fraudulent charges on my account totaling to almost $500 occurring the Saturday afternoon & evening before while I was at home resting. Returned to this Jack in the Box the very next morning on Sunday to notify staff of my forgotten debit card. Verified with one of the employees that Lucifer's shift ended @2pm on Saturday (after I ordered) when the fraudulent charges occurred. Spoke with Manager Felipe Contreras on the phone who was presently unavailable asked me to return Monday morning which I did. Felipe Contreras was incredibly rude & disrespectful and insinuated I was lying even when I politely explained to him I hadn't gone anywhere else or used my card since purchasing my meal there on Saturday. He remained unapologetic. I just needed Lucifer's name as the last person in possession of my debit card to submit my fraud claim. We placed a 2 mobile orders and 1 order at the window due to it being a customized order. We cancelled 1 mobile order. We asked the woman at the window "how do we get our money back for the cancelled mobile order?" , she had no idea, we had to repeat ourselves several times. A gentleMan then comes and is very rude and explains what we need to do. Hands us the other mobile order...which was wrong. We gave it back to be corrected and again it was wrong again...he says "can you check and make sure it's correct"....and again WRONG! After 3 attempts who knows what they could have done to our food.
