Rarely do I ever stop mid meal to post about a restaurant but if you are ever in Lagrange and craving some good food, Chou's Kitchen is the place to go. First time here and we came on a whim. Food? So flavorful I almost cried. Portions? Big enough to make a big back happy and have left overs. The crab rangoons? Don't talk to me unless you bring me one as an offering. Food and service was good. I ordered 3 individual items to stay away from carbs, which cost more. The beef was barely warm, but the flavor was good. The salmon was a touch overdone, but the egg drop soup was very good. read more

We came in around 5:15pm on a Friday evening, it wasn't busy at all so were seated quickly. It was very quiet and the lights were dimmed to a perfect brightness. It was clean looked cozy. Our server came right out and took our drink order. She brought them right out (it was only water and a diet coke). We were ready to order then. I ordered sweet and sour chicken and my husband ordered General Tso's chicken, both with fried rice. Our server was attentive and friendly. The food came out quickly and HOT. I was disappointed that the sweet and sour chicken did not come with the customary peppers, onions and pineapple. There was a LOT of chicken on the plate. The sweet and sour sauce tasted a little watered down. The fried rice lacked flavor and had very little of the veggies and egg. The General Tso's did have a good amount of chicken and a TON of peanuts. Seems like they are trying to be cheap with ingredients while having big portions. I'd rather have a smaller portion with better flavor. read more

Was pretty good, but still along the same lines of what you get at Panda Express or a Chinese buffet, unfortunately though for a good bit more than what that would usually cost. Will come back again but don't know if we would be "regulars" given that fact.. I think they would maybe be a little more marketable as a buffet, rather than menu style. Was about $68 dollars for two people with egg rolls and ragoons. read more

This is THE BEST food I've had! The portions are large for lunch and I have dinner now too! My husband had the Mongolian beef...delicious!!! I had the orange chicken....also DELICIOUS!!! The crab Rangoon were gigantic and fully filled!!! The service was super and I even wrote it on the bill!!! The place is beautiful and clean!!! Can't race enough!!! read more

We went last week for the first time. It was great. I got the lunch portion of Kung Pao Chicken. It was enough to bring some home! Today I'm going back. What ever I get I'm getting the dinner size so I will have a complete 2nd meal. The Kung Pao Chicken was so good that I trust any other thing would be just as good. My husband loved his Shrimp fried rice. It had big shrimp in it. I'm glad we finally got some Asian food worth eating around here. It's in the old IHOP building and that should have told me enough. Took a gamble with trying it out and lost. I think the interior is clean enough and seems to have some effort involved. Service is lacking. Walked in with a party of 5 about 4:30/5pm and the place was mostly empty. Hostess was friendly and we were sat quickly. As soon as we started to walk past the hostess station, we noticed a girl rising up off a bench. She looked to have been napping (could tell by her eyes) and turned out to be our waitress. Weird and unprofessional but I can look past that. She never seemed to fully wake up while serving us. Out of the 5 drinks, one ordered a Coke Zero and two of us ordered regular cokes. All three of us received Coke zeros and that was after she had to ask us two times what we ordered. The other two people in our party did receive the correct drinks. It's unfortunate because I don't like to complain but that crap makes me have terrible stomach pains from the artificial sweetener. Our food order was kinda large and she tried to go strictly from memory. I knew she wouldn't remember and sure as shit she came back and had to ask a second time. My husband asked if she wanted HIM to write it down and she said no. Second time was apparently the charm for her because she did get it right. Food came out somewhat quickly for two of us then it was a long wait for the sushi. Food doesn't look bad but the taste just isn't there. Fried rice tasted like they cook it using old oil. Smells kinda off a little too. Sushi wasn't anything special either. Not sure how to explain it but the whole vibe of the restaurant gives off that feeling like you're gonna come out of it with food poisoning. The smell of the restaurant varied at different times too. You'd get a random whiff of something that smelled almost sewage like then a little while later it'd smell like wet-dog. None of it appetizing! After she dropped off all food we never saw her again. Son ran out of drink...oh well. Needed to-go box (so we could try to convince ourselves we'd eat it later)...not happening. Check please?...Nope. We sat and sat and waited until we gave up and husband went to the counter to pay. No one gave a single care. My husband even mentioned the issue with the waitress to the cashier (hostess, maybe?) and she never said a word. How the flip this place has 4.8 stars on google is a miracle. Chou's Kitchen in LaGrange is hands-down one of the best dining experiences I've had in Lagrange GA! The service was absolutely top notch--friendly, fast, and welcoming. The food? Terrific doesn't even begin to describe it. I started with the pan-seared Gyoza, and the sauce was the perfect mix of spicy and flavorful. For my main dish, I had the orange chicken, and let me tell you... the portion size is unreal! Easily enough for three meals, and the rice was just as amazing as everything else on the plate.
