Management constantly changes (3 different companies in 7 years). They failed to recognize and communicate effectively about my parents to my sibling and myself and so my parent kept repeatedly failing. After breaking their hip and having surgery, one of my parents has moved on to another facility that can care for them properly and I couldn't be more relieved. Shame on these people who ruin what should be the best part of people's lives. The food is horrendous as well.

Their work was close to flawless and oversight was extremely detailed and on point. Most recently, my father got out of a double-gated entrance with a keypad. It was due to an employee's complacency and negligence. He was found by a local family member who recognized him this past Saturday. He walked 2 miles without supervision to Walgreens in Arlington (the one next door to the dry cleaner)! As a family member of one so loved yet so very ill, the struggle to decide what to do to meet their needs is almost beyond comprehension. All family members rise to meet the needs of one so ill, but the long debilitating illness seems to compromise even those that are healthy, as we struggle to meet the needs of the patient. There is no positive resolution on the horizon, and the doctors will tell you there is little or nothing to be done. Your family member is ill and miserable, and cannot comprehend what is happening to them. Then the day comes. The day when you are afraid that something horrible will happen if you cannot find an answer, not just to your struggling patient, but other loved ones trying to work around the clock to provide the care needed. This decision, the decision to remove your father, mother, sister brother from his home, is brutal. I hope this is a decision you NEVER have to make. That day finally came for me, and I drove and saw many different types of caregiving facilities. The Meadowbrook Memory Care was a smaller, intimate community and I loved the feel of the community when I walked in the door. I know I must have looked half crazed, with stress pouring off me. I didn't have an appointment, I just walked in. The staff was just so concerned and caring. I was amazed at how accommodating they were. As I walked into their reception area and was greeted with fresh cookies and smiling faces, this gave me a moment of clarity. More importantly, it gave me hope .As my search continued thru out the day, I felt certain that Meadowbrook was the right answer for my family. I was told at most communities, that to place a new resident can take a few days, as there are many details which must be attended too. I came back to Meadowbrook the very same day and asked if it would be possible to expedite and have my family member, be an immediate resident. I was so very concerned for his safety. I really was amazed as there are always medical interviews required, when Angie asked their medical staff for an immediate interview and was amazed as their director of nursing reworked her schedule and told me she would be at our home in 30 minutes. With the Meadowbrook staff's accommodating and understanding attitude, my family member was safe, secure and most importantly HAPPY, by the end of the day. I am so very grateful. I cannot say enough about their care and daily interactions with their residents. My family visits daily, and we are always greeted with a very busy, happy resident! It truly is a community and I am very thankful I found them.

Maybe it isn't policy to send a card when a resident doesn't pass away in a facility but it seemed strange since she had been there over six years. Even the person in charge of memory care commented on how long she had lived there. If it isn't policy then maybe it should be. Families and residents pay lots of money so everything that is suppose to be done should be done. No one is unkind but laziness is coming through. Lately the rooms are not being cleaned daily as in trash, bed made general sweeping. Numerous!!!!!! Times!!!! Pay more to the good techs and get more help if needed! Hence the bad review. A suggestion is to get bigger bingo cards! It's assisted living . It's Not the paying residents problem , if low staff! Give more pay perhaps or get management to stay after work and do it.
