Today's salad had an inedible flavor to it. Not sure if chicken or dressing was bad, but brought it back. The indignant manager refused to give a refund because he said I could not return food just because I didn't like it. I repeatedly told him that there was something rancid with it, but he didn't believe me. He outright refused to return my money. It wasn't until I told him I would write a bad review on Yelp that he called his manager. His manager then insisted that I return exactly the same change that he had given me from my $100 bill. Fortunately, I still had it, but this insane lack of hospitality understanding will shut this chain down. If a customer doesn't like the food, give them a refund. And while you're at it, learn how to treat people with respect instead of yelling at your customers. read more

There are obviously several Chopt locations throughout the city, and even though this is the furthest one from me, I will travel here specifically because of the service and quality of my salad every time! This location is clean and has an ample amount of seating as well so whether you're dining in or carrying out - you have the option without feeling rushed. They never skimp on their ingredients, the salad is always chopped well, and they always give me extra dressing or bread if I request it without making it seem like I'm bothering them (has happened at other locations). The servers are all friendly and take their time making the salad instead of just shoveling ingredients into the bowl and making a mess of things. I love meeting my friend here for lunch, it's become our go-to spot over the years and now my daughter even likes it so I try to make a trip once a week to pick up and bring it home! read more

They do not make the salads correctly at this location. I ordered a Classsic Cobb salad today at 3 PM. The first (!) ingredient that the employee placed in the salad was cucumbers. I glanced at the ingredients on the board in front of me under Classic Cobb and as I suspected, cucumbers were not listed (and for good reason, cucumbers are gross). I gently asked the employee why she put cucumbers in my Cobb salad and she looked the board, realized her mistake and to her credit, offered her to make me another salad. But I really dislike wasting food and I didn't want to make her go to the trouble of making another salad so I said it's fine and took my salad to go. But what if I hadn't noticed? What if she has put in an ingredient that I was allergic to? In fact I am allergic to apples which is why I'm vigilant about what they put into my salad. This is just not OK. I have been to this location before and never had a problem when i went into the store. On Sunday I ordered a chicken tinga bowl. I used seamless to place the order at 7:22pm. The estimated delivery time was 7:47pm - 7:57pm. At 8:10 I tried to call them and check in on my order. No one picked up. I continued to call them 6 more times with no answer. No one picked up. My order finally arrived at 9:23, it was the wrong base, super soggy, and just gross looking. I would have canceled the order if someone would have PICKED UP THE PHONE!! So here is the kicker, the next day i went into the store and asked the cashier/manager what happened and told them my experience and he shrugged and said, yeah we were busy. My guy bought me a salad at my preferred shop, Chopt (even though we live closer to Sweetgreen). This is what we got...literally we have not even touched the food yet so if it looks half empty, it is. Cannot believe the workers at this location thought it was acceptable to hand this out to customers and charge full price. Would definitely go to any other Chopt besides this. Don't know how Chopt operates its business but the first chance they get to get rid of this location (and its workers), they really should. read more

Never ordering from this location again. I ordered 3 warm bowls and 2 drinks and the drinks didn't get delivered. Nobody called me before hand to tell me that the drinks weren't available or ask if I would like to substitute them with anything else. When I called to figure out what happened they said they tried calling me (that's a lie) and said that they would refund me for the price of the drinks. The amount the lady I spoke to said she would refund me was much lower than what I was charged and I pointed that out to her. She brushed it off and said I will receive the refund within 2 days. It's been 7 days and I haven't received my refund yet. I also cannot seem to get hold of "the manager" or anyone who can actually refund my money. I was just told that they cannot make salads and put them in the Just Salad reusable bowls (chop't doesn't have such a product), even though they are the exact same size. When I pointed out that the size is the same, I was told that it's not a concern about price or volume... come again? It was then clarified that it's "company policy" not to use the bowls of competitors simply because they are competitors. I told the staff this policy is bad for the environment and so maybe Chop't should make its own bowls, then. What an incredibly backwards reaction to a competitor being more environmentally sustainable. It's pretty disgusting to me that in 2018, with all of the knowledge we have of the dangers plastic poses to wildlife and our environment as a whole, that a company would make it policy to create plastic waste. Needless to say, I'll be walking the four extra blocks to Just Salad from now on. read more

I love Chopt very much, so much so that I pay a visit here at this location on 341 Amsterdam Ave at least 4 times a week for lunch or dinner. I've tried most things on the menu but my two favorite salads are the classic cob w/kale or the Chicken Tinga w/Kale. I most like the fact that any salads can by modified/customize to my liking. I also love this location because of the staff who by now have gotten to know me either by face or name and vise versa. One person who have made my lunch/dinner always special is Yamilex who I believe is the supervisor or something. Yamilex has a great attitude and excellent customer service experience. It's always nice to walk into this location and feel welcomed. So thank you chopt and thank you Yamilex for making this chopt my favorite Chopt location. Keep up the excellent work. read more

We were so excited when this location opened, and it's been a great addition to the neighborhood. Food: Menu is the same here as at all Chopt locations. Ingredients are fresh, and I've never had a problem with items being out of stock. Bread is from Orwasher's Bakery (on 81st St.) and it's fresh and soft. Service: Service here is generally good, with the exception of one experience with a cashier who wasn't super friendly on my last visit. I did stop by at 9:50pm one day last week (they close at 10pm), and they were happy to help me even though they were about to close. Ambiance: The space itself is a little funky in terms of layout, but there's plenty of seating and it's always been clean. The proximity of this Chopt location invites comparisons to Sweetgreen, and though I go to Sweetgreen more because I like their menu better and like the ambiance more, my experience at Chopt is more consistently positive. read more
