Usually when I go to chopstix, I am a sucker for their sushi, but today I decided to order a "super meal." I ordered sweet and sour chicken, which came with a choice of soup (I ordered the chicken corn soup) and also came with 2 crab wontons and 2 pieces of shrimp toast. All of this was only $12.95! My friend ordered almost the same thing except she ordered the orange chicken super meal which was only $13.95! We both ended up taking home leftovers and I'm glad that I decided to venture out of my normal routine of ordering sushi, because the chinese food was just as good as the sushi. The food was great (as always) and our server was extremely nice too. Even the hostess at the front door tonight was delightful. Everyone was friendly, I always have only positive things to say about both the staff and the food. As always, I plan on making a return trip to this location of Chopstix, as I have never been disappointed. read more

I went to Chopstix with my sister the other day for a late lunch, and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the sushi roll I ordered, the Volcano Roll especially the quality of the crab meat used in the roll, it was delicious! My sister was also pleased with her Tempura and California Roll Combo lunch. It seemed like a good deal for including miso soup and a salad with it. We tried some green tea ice cream which was also very good. I can't wait to return and try some of the other specialty rolls! read more

Great restaurant! The food is delicious and the decor is amazing with artifacts from Asia. The sushi is fresh, clean flavored and presented nicely. The standard Asian food is much more than standard! We have tried several of the dinners and have been very happy. The wait staff is extremely attentive, yet not over bearing. Used to be my favorite place for Chinese food, but it's definitely gone down hill. I'm not sure if they are cutting corners or what but the food just isn't as good as it used to be. Crabmeat wontons were the best around but now they just taste like cream cheese. The last time I ordered carryout there was soy sauce spilled all over the inside of the bag and the food, and they gave me one fortune cookie with $70 worth of food. The sushi is decent for Bel Air but doesn't compare to the good stuff you can find in Towson or Baltimore. Since moving here 5 years ago, Chopstix has been our go-to place for chinese and sushi. I love love LOVE the pearl river roll! And their steamed chicken with broccoli in a garlic sauce is amazing! Their lunch options are affordable, you get a ton of food, and the service has been great every time we go! Definitely will be back soon! read more

Good, decent sushi here. I have only been once so I have not been able to sample much yet but the rolls I had were tasty. I can't remember exactly what I had but the one I do remember had tempura shrimp with jumbo lump crab meat on top that was delicious. The other roll I had was with salmon and tuna which was then battered in tempura. I definitely will go again to try some other rolls. read more

Terrible service , subpar food ... We usually order food because you get quite a bit for your money. I have ordered fried rice from there before without eggs in it but today they refused to make it with no eggs. So needless so say, a place where over 50 employees frequented will be losing our business. It is say that they would lose business because they refused to cater to a food allergy. read more

I used to love this place. Fair priced good food with good service. Went there last night where we had to wait to get seated even though the place wasn't full. Come to find out they only had 3 WAITERS/WAITRESSES last night. My friends and I had to wait close to 45 just to get out food ordered. The food came out in about 20 minutes and was average. read more

The sushi here is fresh and delicious! I've lived in many coastal states and this restaurant in Bel Air/Forest Hill can keep up. Melt in you mouth sushi for sure. Poor food and customer service. Went in for lunch at 1:00. Received cold food, send back, food was received cold again. A third time came out barely warm. Was told by manager that it was microwaved and that's how it's done, cold sauce is poured on precooked chicken. Have had it before with no issue and hot, but manager didn't want to hear it. Rice was dry, cold and had no taste. Staff could have cared less. 3 people ate, 3 meals were sent back, 1 sent back twice and then we were presented with a full bill. I've been to this Chopstix twice, and I wish I could give them 2,5 stars. Basically, it seems that if you order the right dish, the food is good, but if you order other dishes, you'll get unseasoned food with a side of the sauce the food would normally be cooked in. The first time we went there, we ordered Orange Chicken (seems to be a favorite of diners), Szechwan beef, and Singapore rice noodle. Everything but the Singapore rice noodle was good (the Singapore rice noodle was bland). The drinks were good (iced tea and hot tea) as well. Overall, a good experience, worth 4 stars. The second time, our experience was wildly different. The hot tea was good, but the iced tea was almost like water with a slight flavor. Their house sushi is nothing to write home about either. The Orange chicken this time seemed re-heated, as it was tough. The ginger chicken was basically sauteed green beans with overcooked dry breaded baked chicken on top (all of this with no seasoning), with a side of the ginger sauce that I would expect the dish to usually be cooked in, rather than served in a soup bowl on the side. The Bangkok shrimp was similar, with basically tempura shrimp over almost raw onion and pepper chunks (unseasoned) with a soup bowl of the actual seasoning on the side. To top this off, the bar was playing a hot dog eating contest on the tv, which was rather disgusting to be watching while trying to eat oneself (especially the scientific commentary on how ones body responds to forcing hot dogs down ones throat with visual aids. Ugh!). We talked to the manager about this bad experience, but he was very noncommittal, and didn't offer to replace any meals, just took one meal off our ticket. A one star experience in my opinion. In short, this was a really uneven experience, and I would be hesitant to return. read more

My dinner was just as good tonight as it was years ago. The outside looks very misleading as the interior is wonderfully decorated and clean. The Philly roll has a smokey flavor which tastes wonderful with the cream cheese. The crab wontons and shrimp toast were both cooked perfectly, not leaving them dry. The pork lo mein was the highlight of my meal, as it not only tasted wonderful, but the portion size was fantastic for the price. The staff is always friendly and service always prompt. The Bay Roll, Pearl River Roll and Spicy Scallop Roll are definitely my favorites. I have eaten here before and enjoyed my meal. I ordered then lemon chicken which was very disappointing. It was like a frozen chicken patty cut into strips over a bed of lettuce with a bowl of warm lemon pie filling on the side. Another diner in my group ordered sashimi which was basically sliced salmon piled up deli style with no rice. The salmon was good quality but not what we expected. This is seriously some of the best sushi I've ever had. It is a bit pricey for my taste, but you get what you pay for. There is a wide selection of specialty rolls and they are all packed with large amounts of fresh fish and goodies. Unless I'm crazy, there's an underlying hint of curry in their spicy rolls which makes them even more delectable. The atmosphere is nice and quiet and much more sophisticated than you'd expect given its humble surroundings. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the mood for a sushi treat! read more

The Forest Hill location is clean and we love watching the Koi fish in the indoor pond. The traditional Japanese wood artwork carvings are magnificent and one-of-a-kind, made particularly for this location. The food is nicely prepared and delicious. However the wait staff is so attentive to the point that courses were being served before I even took 1 bite of the previous course. I first received wonton soup, which was hot & delicious. Before I took 1 spoonful of soup, the salad was served. Before I switched utensils to pick up a fork to eat the salad, the main lunch courses were served. I had 4 plates of food in front of me & I didn't know what to start with first. Speed is good at times, especially during the busy lunch time, but we were not in a hurry and I felt a bit of indigestion at having been rushed through the meal. The restaurant was not full or busy. When I took 2 bites from my main course, we were asked if we needed boxes. I said yes and immediately thereafter boxes & the check arrived. I've had more relaxing dining at McDonald's. We were in & out in 15 minutes. I don't understand why when we never said we were in a hurry and had to get back to work. We weren't even working this day (a weekday). This is one of the "nicest" asian restaurants in the area in terms of "ambiance". The restaurant itself is pretty nice on the inside. Koi pond, decor elements, furniture etc. The owners seem to be very nice and welcoming, they say hello and welcome you. Depending on what you order, the food is meh. This is my go to spot for California Roll, not much selection otherwise in this general area. Don't get me wrong, definitely not like having awesome sushi in Japan or metro areas. We have ordered Fried Rice, Gen Tso Chicken, noodles, sushi etc.. Like I said, just okay. If they can kick it up a three notches it would make a world a difference. read more
