There was a stack of boxes and clutter covering the first booth at the entrance... not a good sign. So, it's a bit dark, weathered, and a little divey... They offer an extensive menu for both take-out and dine in. The dining room opens up as you turn to the right, and they have quite a few booths and tables. The tables were clean - though I didn't see the kitchen nor the restrooms. The service was efficient though lacked professionalism, very casual, almost nonchalant. I found the food to be fair though not nearly as good as where I usually go (which had a panda for a mascot). My soup was not evenly warmed... probably heated up in a microwave, and lukewarm at best. The spring roll was pretty good. The entree (spicy chicken with vegetables) was greasy, though it had a decent flavor. Mediocre at best. If you want to have a good time at Chopstix, I think it's important to lower your expectations. For a low price you get greasy, dirty, but delicious american chinese food. Most of the food coming out is of subpar quality but at the price they sell food at, who cares? The reality is that a lot of restaurants are dirty. It's obvious that Chopstix is no exception, given the ridiculous amount of reviews that include bugs in them but i have personally never experienced this so I keep coming back. The worse thing I've experienced is that they've left out a sauce or a soup every now and then, but whatevs I have sauce at home - that could be really annoying to other people tho. Just to give a bit background: I enjoy Chinese food, so much so that I would have to say it is probably my favorite type of food. I live in close proximity to Chopstix, but had not eaten here based on a poor past experience. I decided to give them a second chance since it had been almost 5 years since my last visit. I placed an order over the phone and was very pleasantly surprised to hear that the order would be ready in 10 minutes! I arrived for my order and the gentleman was pleasant and efficient. When I reached my home and I opened my order, I realized that my order was completely wrong. I was given curry rice rather than the curry chicken and my pad thai that I ordered was not in the bag. I phoned up and asked to speak to the manager on duty and explained what was wrong with my order. She was less than accommodating and offered to exchange my order if none of the food had been eaten. Of course I had not eaten it! Why would I eat something that I did not want in the first place. When I arrived the young woman proceeded to inspect the food and treated me as if I had done something wrong. At this point I had already wasted 40 minutes of my day picking up and exchanging food, so I got fed up and asked for refund. The woman then notified me that it could take up to 5 business days for the money to post to my account and she did nothing to try and make the situation better. Based on my experience, I do not recommend this establishment. They have very poor customer service! Spend your hard-earned money somewhere else! read more

The best beef broccoli I've had in a really long time. The lo mein is amazingly good and the egg roll was delicious. I was sad when I finished my egg roll. The egg drop soup is also really good! Just a quick heads up. When ordering the general tso or chow.. make sure you pick the white meat because it makes a huge difference it's just a dollar more so it won't hurt. I ordered the regular dish and well I can honestly say it wasn't as or even close to worth my 8 dollars.. it was a bit under cooked and bland . I knew I messed up when the waiter recommend me to chose the white poultry over the dark poultry. I have eaten at this restaurant quite a few times throughout the years, even when they only had the Mission location here in the Valley. Customer service has never been that great in this Edinburg location, but the price was fine and it was near the university. Today, I ate at their restaurant and experienced customer service so horrible that I had to review them online, which I have honestly been too lazy to ever do before. Other than repeatedly getting our orders wrong and charging us for the wrong things, the waitress kept bringing us food that were not the correct size and not even the correct dish while claiming that they were what we ordered. Apparently chicken curry doesn't have chicken in it -.- Because it was difficult to communicate with the waitress and she clearly didn't know what the dishes looked like in the restaurant she worked at, we had to resort to calling the manager. When asked if we could have the proper size of the dish we ordered, he blamed us for ordering the wrong size (we did not) and just annoyedly said fine and walked away. Because we were seated next to the kitchen, we saw as he continued to the kitchen and slammed the dish we returned into the trash so hard that the top of the bin flew off. When he came back with the "correct size", it was really just the same thing put in a bigger plate. Again, we have eaten here quite a few times and even in their other locations so we know how big the portions really are. Perhaps the waitress was new and her mistakes were forgivable, but blaming the customers is uncalled for, especially in the manager's part. I would even let this pass if the place was so busy, but there were only 3 other groups in the restaurant with us. One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the valley. After being disappointed with Golden Dragon in McAllen for years, I was overjoyed to see this place go up. I really enjoy thier shrimp egg rolls, I prefer to use sirachi or the oil and pepper to add a zip to my egg roll. Thier chicken vermicelli is awesome, I love it! Hot chicken with rice noodles, greens and some sauce. I recommend to add a bit of sirachi for some heat. I usually order thier shrimp and chicken with cashews, but lately I have noticed they have started to skimp on the shrimp .-. but other than that, I've noticed the wait staff is a bit more attentive now (these last couple of times I've gone).
