Chopstick is back open after one of the owners getting sick. They are back to their fantastic Chinese and Thai inspired dishes. The Pineapple Fried Rice is AMAZING. :) read more

Linda and her staff provide Greene County with a wonderful mix of Thai, Japanese and Chinese cuisine. The food is fresh and delicious and the service is great. We have supported Linda for many years and always have a nice chat! Their sushi chef is talented and we enjoy their Singapore Noodles and Mongolian Beef. read more

I'm not very fond of Chinese but had a taste for it. I'm so glad I tried this restaurant. The freshest Chinese I have ever eaten. I now dine here at least once a week. I tried the sushi for the first time today and once again was beyond happy. This is definitely a hidden gem. The staff was also very tentative and friendly. read more

We arrived in the area a little late and starving, so we went in ready to EAT. One of the highlights of this place is the array of options. Japanese, Chinese, & Thai all on one menu made me gleam with excitement, so it was only right that we tried a little of everything. We had sushi, fried dumplings, & the triple delight with garlic sauce...all in which were pretty tasty. However, I gave this spot 4 stars because we also ordered the Pad Thai (one of my absolute favorites) and I was disappointed because it was...for a lack of better words, just bland. Despite that, I would definitely come back if we are ever in the area again. read more

The food here is quite good. I've been here three times so far and I'm pleased. There isn't much of a selection of Asian food in Catskill and Chopstick is in a prime location. Their Chicken w/ Garlic Sauce is very, very good. Their menu consists of Chinese, Thai and Sushi. I haven't ventured with the Thai dishes yet and to be honest, I just won't get Thai anywhere. I'm a snob towards Thai and I have no problem with that. I'd rather get Thai in Manhattan or Brooklyn. Meanwhile, their sushi IS pretty DAMN GOOD. I recommend it greatly. They make a REALLY good spicy tuna. The tuna is juicy and their spicy sauce packs a nice punch. Their rolls seem warm to me but I know it's mainly because they made mine with fresh rice. That misleads many people to think that the fish is warm or not fresh but freshly made rice does that every time. If you're near here, check it out. It's a pretty small place so it's easy to drive by it but it's good and the staff is really friendly. read more

Killer sushi and miso soup hidden in the least likely of places. This one is a real locals' secret. The miso soup is exquisite--rich and buttery like you always hope miso soup is going to be but usually isn't. And the sushi is top notch. read more

A small, unassuming place with several Asian options,to choose from. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and sushi guy and shown to a four top table. We decided on Thai and Chinese. Starting with steamed vegetable dumplings, we were disappointed at the lack of filling and the poor execution of sealing the doughy pocket. All six of them popped open at their seam when a little chopstick pressure was applied. Some ginger would have made these taste better. The tofu and vegetable curry looked great with large, triangular pieces of pillow-like tofu with eggplant, carrot, onion, and peppers swimming in a Japanese style yellow curry sauce. I would expect a flavor explosion from something like this, however with the lack of salt and missing a hint of sweetness this dish fell flat. The mixed vegetables in brown sauce was cloyingly sweet, sticky, and overwhelming but the vegetables were cooked perfectly. It's a shame they were covered in that dark, shiny mess of a sauce. Service was very good and speedy. These places that try to capitalize several cuisines, in my experience, often get little of it right. It seems that this place may reflect that opinion. Sushi, Chinese, Japanese, Thai...why not throw a dish from Indonesia, Malaysia, or Taiwan, too? Or why not stick to one cuisine and do it well. You can't be everything to everyone. read more

By far the best Chinese in the area; I wish I could give it 4.5 stars. The food is great. Chicken and broccoli is probably the best I've ever had. Fantastic wonton soup, my girlfriend loves the sushi and I can't get enough of the fried rice. There's no generic, thick, heart stopping brown sauce. Very fresh tasting food with great consistency. I've never eaten inside but the take-out service is fast and friendly. The prices are slightly higher than the run of the mill take out place but VERY worth it. I'm also a glutton and like to be drown in soy sauce so I have to ask for a lot extra because there's usually only one or two included. Overall-excellent. Love it. Keep doing what you're doing. read more

My husband and I were so pleased when we discovered Chopstick, right after our previously favorite place closed its doors. Chopstick has a family-like staff that remembers your favorites, always greets you with a smile, and makes you feel at home. The prices are good, the portions are generous, and the plating for house specials is beautiful! We've been working our way through the menu and haven't come across a bad dish yet. The Crispy Red Snapper, Hunan Black Bean Beef, and Pineapple Fried Rice are especially delicious. Their sushi rolls are also delicious, and nicely sized (not too tiny, not too large). While the seating area is small, it's a step up from the booth and formica atmosphere at some Chinese restaurants. On the gripe side: Their disposable chopsticks leave a little to be desired, but that's ok, I just bring my own. Be warned, parking is scarce and getting out of the lot into busy traffic can be annoying. read more

You people are smoking crack or missing your tongues. This was some of the most disgusting food I've ever eaten. Chicken skewers pre-cooked and deep fried, served on a bed of pineapple and cucumber chunks. The moo shu was a mushy pile of slop. The deep fried tofu was okay, the most edible thing on the menu. We could hardly eat it. I felt terrible but we didn't want to eat it and we certainly didn't want to take it with us. read more

Okay so this place is a small town semi upscale Chinese/Japanese restaurant. The service is very friendly and the cashier seems to take the time to get to know her customers. The food is okay on pricing, but the food is absolutely amazing. There has not been a time yet that I've been disappointed, and I doubt very much that it'll happen. The only reason why i gave it 4 stars is because the table cloth was a bit sticky on the overhang. Could have been cleaned a bit more... was so overlooked though just because the food is so good. Lol. Would recommend anytime. read more

Chopstick - Happy family. Sooo good - Chinese Near Me - Catskill, New York

Well, what a disappointment. Love sushi and h?A?be had it there in the past and it was great, but not tonight! My spouse a?nd myself set there to celebrate our birthdays, don't plan on returning. The sushi was sub par rice fell apart and the fish was on the warm side. The salad was watery and almost frozen. The best part of the meal was the miso soup. Sorry about the typos. Will no longer recommend this place. read more

This is the only place we get Chinese food. Its always freshly made and delicious. You're greeted with enthusiasm when you walk in. Its a small place with a dozen or so tables but clean. The food is excellent no matter what you order. There is a sushi chef right there too. read more

I ordered take out online. The menu is pretty extensive. Chinese, Japanese, sushi and Thai. The food was very good and the portions generous. Try their pineapple fried rice, it's the best!! read more

Linda, the owner and hostess, is lovely and always so accommodating. The fish is fresh. Recently they have had some sushi chef changes which as effected the presentation and occasionally the quality. If you are looking for a fancy schmancy place that caters to the rich and famous, this is not your spot, however if you are dying for your Asian food fix which provides asian food at a fair price this will fill your craving. Not the best, but not bad either. They have a Japanese, Chinese and Thai food choices on the menu. read more

Very good food for the price, sushi was very good! Green dragon rolls actually came with plenty of eel and eel sauce! Very happy! Good hot tea as well. Little bit of tea leaf in the bottom of cup(that's actually a good thing!). No need for sweetening. Excellent service. read more

The tofu teriyaki is to die for: huge pieces of tofu lightly battered and fried to perfection, served with veggies and a lovely sauce. My kids and husband eat the sushi here like it's going out of style. The parking is tight, and they get very busy with takeout orders so there is sometimes a wait for pickup, but there is always a smile and an apology for even the slightest delay. read more

Reminds me of the small, fairly intimate and cozy Chinese family restaurants of my youth....very ample portions....the staff appreciates compliments and I think they are sincere. Servings are very ample. I have ever been displeased with anything I've eaten here and prices are very reasonable too. FYI 4 stars are as high as I almost ever go. Just go here. I think you'll enjoy it. read more

Great place for Chinese and Japanese food the sushi is very good and food always taste so fresh people here are so frendly.

Well a loyal fan and got bbq ribs hard as a rock twice, so this third time I thought I'd try the Happy Family which always has been good. It was so salty ( I like salt ) and couldn't eat it. Had to pour the juice off to even eat the meat. Next day wheezing and was told there is no MSG so I don't know. read more

This place is not impressive in any way. Standard Chinese food slathered with different flavored MSG sauce is a feat that anyone can pull off. Their sushi is average as well, and the rolls are terribly small for the price, but with no other competition in the area, I guess they're thinking "why not skimp and overcharge - who's gonna complain?" And with all that profit they make, couldn't they update their corny, outdated "decor" at least once every decade or so? As if it wasn't bad enough that this place is already way overpriced for the area, they take even further advantage of their customers any chance they get. Example: We came in a few times and ordered over $65 of take-out sushi, yet when I ask for a little spicy mayo on the side, the owner charges me an extra $1 just for the tiny, 1oz plastic cup with no more than a teaspoon of sauce in it! In my opinion, that is not showing any form of gratitude or customer appreciation - it's just taking advantage. And yes, as others have said, the tiny, dangerous parking area at this ripoff joint is an accident waiting to happen. Dine at your own risk, but you'll find that this place is simply not even worth that risk. read more

Favorite, favorite, favorite Chinese place! Quality is amazing. All white meat for my sesame chicken.. no mystery meat.. yay!! Good portions and fresh sushi. I love that you can get brown rice instead of white for the rolls and they do have low sodium soy sauce in to go packets which I never see elsewhere. My husband is picky about chinese so we used to go to two separate places when we wanted it but it only took a couple times of him seeing my food before he was hooked! Something as simple as the cucumber salad is delicious! You can't go wrong here. read more

They are temporarily closed, because the owner had a stroke in mid-June. It is expected now that Linda has been moved to nursing care, her husband will re-open in a few days. Your thoughts and prayers for this special lady and hard worker are appreciated. read more

With a dubious location (wedged in the strip mall section of Catskill) and red, white and green signage proclaiming 3 cuisines I was admittedly a little scared at first, but this is now a favorite spot. Super friendly family owned business with a clear clientele of regulars who stream in and out happy as can be. It's not fine dining, but it is what it is, quick comforting food with large portions. read more

The smell in this place put me off. Pretty much smelled like disinfectant, which okay, the place is clean but not something I want to smell the whole time I'm eating. My sushi was really good, but kind of warm which made me question eating it. The service was super friendly which was nice. read more

Great people and great food! A bit pricy for quick take out, but if you're looking for amazing Chinese and Japanese in Catskill, it's worth it, and you won't find better. Definitely worth trying! read more

Personally, I did not care for this restaurant. Parking area is dangerous. I'm not even exaggerating. It's like they *want* an accident to happen. Little to no ambiance. Rather snippy service -- they didn't even offer us drinks!! The food was good, I mean it's Chinese food, of course it's good, but it was nothing special. read more

Stopped in over Labor day. Friendly staff. Tried 2 of the lunch specials, and the food was freshly prepared, and well balanced (spiciness) and arrived hot (temperature.) This restaurant may not be the biggest or flashiest but they have got some great food, reasonable prices and prompt service. read more

Really good sushi, quite a life saviour in the area!

You could tell This restaurant was not used to serving grops larger than four. The waiter did not bring small plates for shared appetizers and was always forgetting items we ordered. We were always asking for something he forgot. Beside the poor service the food was pretty good. If service is not important to you than it's a decent place to dine. read more

Excellent, fresh food. We've eaten in the restaurant and also had take out. The dining room is small but suitable. I think they do more take-out but the few times we've been, they've always had a full house. The vegetables are crisp and fresh and the meats are tender. It's very good, clean Chinese food - and NO MSG. I haven't had the Japanese, yet but will definitely try it. read more

Place is great for the area. Always fresh. Chinese is better than sushi. Parking can be tight on weekends, but otherwise fine. I haven't eaten there but tables always seem to be full. Usual fare, nothing really stuck out. read more

The best Chinese food I've ever had- such quick service and the waiter is the nicest guy! Great lunch specials.

big portions, so you know, come hungry. the hostess was very friendly and the server was too. They have a little bit of everything on the menu but their Chinese food is the best of the options. the Sushi is good too but it comes in sizes I'm not used to (in SF, the sizes are smaller, their rolls are generous in their fish serving) but for the most part, it's good eating. read more

The prices are great here. The sashimi app has huge pieces of fish and was wonderful. We also do take out here quite a bit.

I am definitely coming back! I am very satisfied with the food and service they offer. It is quite small so I wouldn't bring a big group but if you don't mind the tight atmosphere then definitely stop by and try anything I'm sure it's all good! read more

Fresh Chinese Food and friendly staff.

Whether we order the sushi, Thai or Chinese options the food is always fantastic. We often get a roll and an entree and always have plenty to take home for leftovers. The prices are also reasonable. I wish we lived closer because this would be our take out place of choice. read more
