Udon with seafood

Had dinner last night at Wasabi right as they opened. Plenty of seating. Its ambiance is wonderful. With colorful lights a water fountain, hanging bottles of various colors and fish socks. very Asian decor. Service was fast and friendly. We ordered edamame spring rolls octopus salad tiger roll and seafood udon noodles. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Edamame was lightly salted and warm. Spring rolls were fresh crisp hot and delicious. Octopus salad was light spicy with crispy radish. The tiger rolls were beautiful generously presented. The seafood udon was absolutely amazing served with crab squid shrimp scallops fish cakes. We did our best with chopsticks throughout the meal. Kudos to the staff for doing such a wonderful job.

I went to Wasabi for the first time the other day, and was very pleased with my experience. The prices were fair for the lunch special you can get three rolls and miso soup for around $13. I also tried one of their specialty rolls. The service was a little slower, which normally I wouldn't mind, but I was there on lunch with work so we were hoping for a faster pace. They were also busier during this lunch time, so it wasn't terrible to have to wait a bit longer. I got the Alaskan roll, the spicy tuna roll, eel and avocado, and the specialty Spicy Girl roll. All were delicious, and the specialty roll was totally worth it. The portion was great. I will definitely be back for more!

Great food and great price. The restaurant inside is lovely. Very clean and the service was phenomenal. Our waitress was extremely professionally and made sure that we had our food and drinks at a reasonable time. We paid a total of $27 dollars (before tip) for the meal we had. I will definitely be coming back again. A must try if you are in the area.

Pretty good!! The ambiance is awesome and they have great lunch specials. The service is super quick and friendly. The fish is clearly fresh and succulent!

This is the $10.95 negamaki appetizer?

we've been getting takeout from this place for several years, and the quality and value seem to be consistently declining. Got an order of sunomono tonight...and when we opened it, the odor of spoiled seafood was so prominent that we only risked one bite. The rest went in the trash. We ordered the negamaki appetizer...for $10.95...and received 6 small pieces - each about 1/4 of an inch thick. Seriously??? Sort of sad...there being no other Japanese option in the area...

Had been going right by this place for years, and finally decided to stop in. If they've been there that long, they must be good, right? Absolutely! We went at lunchtime and took advantage of their specials. Service polite, quiet ambiance, food was great. It's probably fun later in the day at dinner time. And very reasonable prices! Looking forward to going again.

After fighting with the difficult street parking situation, I finally made it for a late lunch in this small restaurant. Luckily, there was still a place left at the 5-seat sushi bar, adorned with one of those plastic photo place mats, paper napkins and waribashi. Since the one server was a bit busy, the manager quickly left the prep area, and politely greeted me. The bound menu he presented me had a few too many photos for my liking, but I was glad to see a large selection of both nigiri and sake. I looked around the bar after I ordered a few nigiri and a couple of maki. The decor was a bit different - with about a hundred empty sake bottles suspended from the ceiling, and a strange waterfall/water feature splashing over in the corner. As I enjoyed my pleasant soup, I noticed something I almost never see: the sushi display cooler (photo) did not have the usual plastic tubs containing pre-mixed fillings. This welcome revelation was reinforced as I watched my sushi chef prepare one of my maki, by chopping up the salmon and mixing in the other ingredients right in front of me. Unfortunately, this newfound interest in his work now saddened me when I watched him open a bought-in, sealed, chilled box of pre-cut tamago slices. I can see that the actual kitchen is really small, but it is still big enough to cook eggs. But these insights are why I always sit at the sushi bar. The main arrived, simply, competently plated (photo). The rice was well seasoned. Both maki were pleasant, a slightly spicy salmon with small chunks of fish still visible; a bit more so than the eel cucumber maki. The hirame was excellent, the best of the nigiri. The tamago was the least of the presentation, but it was not bad, although bought-in, as I previously mentioned. Also, unfortunately, as occurs too often in the region's sushi bars, none of the nigiri had the added step of placing wasabi under the fish. What is the name of this restaurant again? I was very happy with my visit, and I will return again. Most of the minor problems could just be personal preference. But with a few fixes, it would be worth the 50 minute travel on a regular basis. 2019 07 18. S27.

However they do deserve a five star rating because they are offering something different compared to any other place in Catskill. The place is called "The salad bar" however their sandwiches are just as good if not better than the salad. The ingredients are always fresh and I've never been disappointed. Prices are fair considering the quality and overall we need more places that are different and unique like this in the village. They have small cozy area for you to chill and enjoy your meal and the service is always quick and friendly. Many of the towns in the Hudson Valley have been revitalizing their downtown areas with great success but Catskill Village seems to be moving a lot slower compared to those other areas. The salad bar is one of those places that's helping it move forward.

The way New Yorkers truly love their pizza? Nnnnno. Kudos to Baba Louie's I guess for experimenting with sourdough flour. But what makes people think that sourdough flour would be the ultimate replacement for regular, good ol' fashioned flour? While some folks are praising Baba L. for the sourdough, hubs and I found the texture unappealing and tasteless. Everything that went on top of the crust though, was tasty. My small Pomodoro Bianco with fresh mozzarella, roasted portobello, garlic, tomatoes, red onions, chevre (opted out of it), pesto and Parmesan sounds like a mouthful- but the tomato slices were too thick. Hubs liked his pepperoni pie and seasony sauce ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Even with like 45 minutes to spare before their 3pm Sunday closing time, we were seated smoothly without the rush from our server. So much so, folks came in droves like 20 minutes to closing and weren't turned away. Our server rocked big time and handled herself like the ultimate pro from the moment she sat us, brought over our pies and when we left.

I'm surprised that Yelp is allowing this. Went there for the first time tonight. It's a beautifully and lovingly decorated little restaurant, evergreen boughs hanging, cool antiques and interesting pictures. Cool Russian music was blasting and added great atmosphere. The food is DELICIOUS. The blinis and pancakes authentic and recommended. Do not miss the Siberian meatballs, perfectly done. The braised beef was the only weak thing we ate and the owner took the charge off without being asked. Both the waitress and the chef /owner (?) were lovely and nice. We ate very early, didn't realize it was movie night and they had just started Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. One piece of advice I would give, we hadn't tried this restaurant yet this ski season because of the relatively draconian cancellation policy on Resy and Open Table. With this much local competition it's a good bet that some aren't booking when they can get a more easily cancelled reservation at another great place. Warren St has become a food mecca. That being said, it's very different, cool and not a run of the mill dining experience. Definitely do the tea. It rocks.

Things have texture of the microwave & store bought. I have no problem spending money on food (I am born and raised in the west village) but their prices and quality do not match. $30 something dollars for a tiny bowl of dumplings ?? A plate of store bought pickled veggies is the most insane thing to me.. The energy in Taiga is tense and awkward. They have Russian music playing which I understand but it's also not loud enough to the point I feel staff/owner is listening to my conversation. I felt the waiter (owner) was standing too close / staring at us , non stop filling my water to the point it was excessive ! Also something about the energy felt dark , not really sure. Although I will share this.. the owner seems to be the waiter and he is collecting tips?? Hello- that's illegal. ODD. I had heard that the owners were very deceptive & mislead staff of their tip outs and only gave them 20% and the owners took the rest! WRONG on so many levels. I'm glad I went for myself to see and everything I had heard was right. -off putting & inauthentic.

It was hard in the past to find places for all of us but now it's even more difficulty because we still have my extremely picky BIL who has stomach issues, GERD, and a multitude of other issues, and now we have a vegan-ish person who tries to stay vegan but eats cheese, dairy, and eggs. So finding places to satisfy everyone is more complicated. This place met our needs and can meet yours: dog friendly, vegetarian options, and has something for even the pickiest of people. Me and another person got the strip steak, my husband got the Philly cheesesteak, MIL got the wunderbar burger, FIL got salmon burger, the vegan-ish got a veggie burger and one of the salads, which he split with his wife the SIL, and my picky BIL got the chicken sandwich. He freaked out over the sandwich because he wanted to know why it was moist and not dry. His partner and I were like, "You can have fully-cooked, moist chicken. Dry chicken isn't the only cooked option." But he continued to have a meltdown over his perfectly cooked chicken. He did eat it though. Family can drive you nuts sometimes. Anyways, despite the meltdown, I think we were all satisfied with our food. I did find the mashed potato on the steak to be very creamy but everything else on the plate was very good. Steak was cooked medium-rare liked I asked. Overall, the place is very good, excellent food, excellent service, and it was a busy night.
