This is hands down my favorite poke spot in Santa Barbara. The fish is always incredibly fresh, and the portions are generous. The staff is consistently kind, helpful, and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Every bowl I've had here has been delicious and satisfying. If you're looking for quality poke and great service, this is the place to go!

Boba and friends!

(Disclaimer- no poke review) White peach green tea with boba and rainbow jellies - the fruity flavors burst in my mouth with every sip i take, followed by a decadent serving of soft, chewy boba and refreshing jelly. the tea is not too sweet and the boba is masterfully cooked; chewy on the inside & soft on the out. 10/10 would recommend. jasmine green milk tea- pretty dope ngl, definitely picking up some floral notes and the tea was definitely milky. Got what I bargained for. black milk tea - today i felt like being bold and brave bc oh what the heck! what is life for. so i took a chance with a new tea today, let me tell you... it was fantastic. its pretty sweet but less sweet than the thai tea (one of my go tos). it's like a burst of yummyness surrounding my mouth. the boba was cooked to perfection, fresh, chewy, and ideal size. i've been an avid customer for years and i won't be stopping any time soon!! thank you for many memories and laughs choppa Thai tea - This is my go to order every time I get boba and choppa makes it perfect! It's very sweet which I like but if you don't have a sweet tooth, this might not be for you. The texture is perfectly milky and very smooth. Highly recommend this drink and this restaurant.

Needed a quick lunch after moving our daughter into her dorm and found this place based on yelp reviews. The restaurant is a well lit , clean, open space. I was greeted and acknowledged as soon as walked in. It's always lovely to have vibrant and friendly workers. I opted for a large bowl so I could share with my husband or save for another meal. This bowl was packed with fresh vegetables and other ingredients. It was well made and delicious. My salad bowl was over $22 but it was definitely worth it.

Really good joint overall! There's a ton of variety and a desert restaurant right next door which is pretty dope. We came around 8:30 pm, 30minutes before closing, and the staff was super duper nice, welcoming, and accomodating. We got three regular scoops with two tuna, one salmon for one bowl, and three regular scoops of spicy ahi tuna and tuna for the second. The staff was super nice and gave us extra fish. We then got some edamame, fried onions, masago, shredded seaweed, cilantro, hot Cheetos, and pineapple, which the staff piled on. It was overall tons of food for the amount we paid which was really nice of them, especially since we bothered them so close to closing. The location is a little bit outside Santa Barbara which is ok, but this is the best poke joint in the area as many have said! It hits right, the food was a bomb, and the staff is super duper nice. It became my brother's favorite joint which was another plus since he isn't a big food or poke person. Will definitely be coming back in the future!

Choppa Poke is in a plaza with a big parking lot. I came here on a Monday night and there was no wait time. I ordered a medium bowl which was VERY filling! They are extremely generous with the portion size and especially the protein scoops (which most poke places tend to skimp out on). The fish and all the toppings were fresh and overall it was really delicious. Choppa is more expensive when compared to other poke places; however, the price is justified by the fresh fish and generous portions! Will definitely come again(:

Half eaten because we couldn't wait to eat before a photo

I come here all the time. Everything about it is great. Fast service, great portions, great options, just great. I'm moving soon and am going to come back just for choppa. Best poke iv

my poke bowl!! i had, among other toppings, the salmon, seaweed, pineapple, avocado, and corn.

FIRST TIME EATING POKE!! I've always been a little nervous about trying raw seafood, but Choppa Poke helped ease this transition. The chunks of ahi tuna that I got tasted fresh and delicious, and along with the bounty of other toppings, it felt like i was eating a buffet in a bowl. The sauces are amazing, the rice is perfectly cooked, the add-ons had a huge variety of textures and flavors... and in great portion sizes, too!!! You do get what you pay for, which I really appreciate. Definitely coming back to this spot; the food is delicious, the place itself is super hygienic and COVID-friendly, and it's just a super great, filling meal to end my day with.

Large Bowl w/ 4 scoops of Pago, salmon and yellowtail w/ lots of delicious toppings!
Amber E.

Great poke place. Fresh fish (we got ahi, salmon and yellowtail), fresh warm rice, mixed greens, lots of tasty toppings and sauces (cucumber, edamame, crab salad, seaweed salad, cilantro, green onions, house ponzu dressing and topped w/ eel sauce, spicy Mayo and crispy onion and garlic. Wow! Quite a delicious masterpiece. Small with 2 scoops of fish is $18.95, but large w/ 4 scoops is just $4 more ($22.95). Much better deal, so we ordered that and shared. $2 extra if you want an extra bowl. Totally recommend!

All the way fresh. In from L.A. and found this killer poke bowl spot. Ellay Shmellay, they got nothin' on these guys. Zippy service with a smile. The richness and flavor of the proteins was astounding. Ditto on the toppings. Order: medium, sushi rice, spicy tuna, yellowtail and tofu. Sauces: House Ponzu with spicy mayo. Toppings: seaweed, quail egg, edemame, cilantro, green onions, crispy onions, avocado. Final sauce: House Ponzu Best takeout in years. ("for here" orders can dine out front too)

Quality containers.

Best Poke place I've been to so far! I'm relatively new to Poke bowls but absolutely love them and tried quite a few places. Here's why this is my new favorite... the ingredients tasted really fresh, the bowl was burst with flavor, the options seemed endless, my bowl was jam packed with yumminess, the to go containers were quality containers, the service was fast and friendly, ordering online was simple and easy, parking in the big spacious parking lot was a breeze, the restaurant interior was modern and clean (too bad indoor dining is closed right now due to Covid-19) and the location is super convenient to UCSB. Keeping this on my list of restaurant go to's for my future visits to Goleta.

Medium Bowl
Bill G.

In this area of Goleta there is not a ton of unique food choices, but Choppa Poke is one of them. This is a great stop for picking up lunch. Generous portions of protein, there are cooked and raw choices, and all the sauces are different and good. Service has been quick and they typically have all of the choices. The ambiance of the restaurant is basically what is expected from a poke take out spot. There are a few tables but it is nothing to write home about. I never eat there so can't comment too much. Drink selection is limited to only cans/bottles of coke. Make sure you ask for soy sauce or hot sauce if you get take out- I usually forget that!!

Medium Bowl
Jon R.

If you want a poke bowl in the Goleta area Choppa Poke is the place to go. A wide variety of toppings and sauces to go along with fresh sashimi. The salmon and yellowtail will cost you extra but overall you get a good amount of food for a pretty reasonable price.

They definitely don't cheat you.

This one sits in a strip mall so there is plenty of free parking and seats to eat at. My wife was bummed that there was no more sea urchin to be bought when we pulled in at dinner time but the fried fish taco special was too good to pass up so we both ordered that, the kiddo got the grilled salmon plate, and we also got a bowl of clam chowder to share. All the food was delicious! The fish tacos were the way I like them- a big piece of fish with cabbage, a little pico de gallo, and a dollop of sauce- not too many overpowering flavors to let the fish be the star of the show. The clam chowder was creamy with plenty of clams, and the salmon plate had great salmon that was cooked nicely (still moist) and what was likely an entire avocado sliced up on the plate. Great food, we'd definitely come back!

They have two locations and they both serve fresh seafood but the ambience here is very different from the one in Santa Barbara. This one is in a strip mall with plenty of parking and is much more spacious with tables inside and outside. On a weekday afternoon, it was quiet and we ordered and got our food quickly. I was a little disappointed that no one mentioned it was happy hour (weekdays 2-5pm), but it's okay since we came specifically for fish and chips. We shared the SB Rockfish & Chips ($19.95) and also got the halibut version ($26.95) so we could compare. Both were really good. The fish pieces were big for both but the rockfish was slightly more moist. The halibut pieces were meatier though. They don't skimp on the fries and they were really well made. They tasted fresh and crisp. I also got a bowl of their New England Clam Chowder ($11.95) and it was good chowder. The consistency was just right and had lots of clam. It was great for dipping my fries. If you're visiting Santa Barbara, I would recommend making the drive over to this location if you want to dine-in and have more of a restaurant experience.

Our waitress, Joselin, was simply outstanding! Her warmth, professionalism, and excellent menu recommendations made our lunch time memorable. We followed her suggestions, and what a delightful surprise! Both the presentation and the quality of the food exceeded all our expectations. For appetizers, we enjoyed the clam chowder, which was rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious, along with the shrimp basket, which was simply irresistible! For our main courses, we ordered the halibut, which was spectacular! Perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and bursting with flavor. Without a doubt, the best halibut I have ever tasted! We also enjoyed the cod served with risotto, another beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious dish. Every plate reflected the chef's attention to detail, culinary expertise, and passion for exceptional food. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant! From the stunning views and elegant ambiance to the outstanding cuisine and impeccable service, everything was truly exceptional. A very special thank-you to Joselin for her kindness, attentiveness, and wonderful recommendations, and to the Chef for preparing such memorable dishes. We look forward to returning! The flavor of the food was packed with delicious herbs and spices. Truly a supernova of delicious authentic soul taste. If it were just that, it'd be an easy 5 stars; however, onto the negatives: 1. The shrimp & grits were pretty skimpy on the grits (altho tons of shrimp and delicious sausage in the seafood gumbo. HIGHLY recommend that one) 2. The prices are a bit high, in the $20-$40 range. However, I understand that delivery companies do take a big portion 3. The grubhub page said "not currently accepting orders" while the Uber eats one was accepting them. I asked the owner over text and she said she'd try to fix the grubhub website (I wanted to use grubhub over Uber eats cuz I had a $5 off grubhub coupon). It still wasn't fixed after 15-30 mins so we just gave up and ordered on Uber Eats since we were hungry. Would've been nice to know how long it might take to get it fixed; I was assuming it'd be a quick setting change Note that these guys are delivery/pickup only via Uber Eats or Grubhub and you have to just wait and show up at their house when it's ready. You can't go wrong with whatever you choose, but I recommend the avocado salsa. My friend and I swapped a taco from each of our plates, so I was able to try their tacos al pastor and tacos del mar with halibut. The al pastor was particularly flavorful and well marinated, and to my surprise, I enjoyed the pineapple bits in the taco. The halibut tasted fresh and the chipotle sauce on top paired nicely. I also love a good side of rice and beans and I can't even put my finger on it, but it was just so tasty. It got pretty busy during the dinner rush and I was seated right along the order line, but nothing too disruptive to our dining experience. Overall, the food was solid, the staff was friendly, the service was quick, and the vibes were upscale-casual and lively.
