A few factoids for context. I am an older guy, who has travelled extensively, Army vet, have native speaker aquaintances. I have eaten at high end places with many cusines and I have eaten cold MRE's in the shadow of a tank outside of a bombed out village. I actually enjoy basic, strip mall (the seedier the better) Chinese [Americanized] food. I want that paper box with the wire, or styrofoam, or modern fancy vented plastic containers is fine too. I like the cheap chopsticks, or the tiny flimsy white fork - the round spoon is a bonus trophy. In every town in the world a main road hits a T-intersection. If you go one way it's commercialized/nicer/safer/gentrified/rural if you go the other way there are liquor stores/pawn shops/car garages (with junk cars piled out back) and a down on its luck strip mall. Turn in that direction from time to time. You will learn more about the world around you, you will have some adventure to knock the sameness out of your life, and you might even be a little frightened. That is good for you, seek it out, embrace it. That turn towards the adventure side is exactly the kind of strip mall [Old Orchard Shopping Center] Chop Sticks sits in. It is non-descript, nestled in with a couple of ethnic grocery stores, a liquor store, and several other hanging in there one-off "businesses". I knew before I parked that this was going to hit the spot. The service was fast, effecient, friendly. I got Hunan Beef, fried rice, egg rolls, and a bag of those donuts unique to these places for my wife. For $25 the best of these meals I have had in a while. Good portions, beef was spicy enough for forehead sweat, rice was simple but that seperate grain texture that you can only get from these places. The egg rolls were just the right greasy, excellent with the little package of duck sauce. I would definetly eat here often if I lived in the area. Would not expect Pad Thai from a Chinese restaurant but they make it and it is very good!

A total rip off. I've never seen smaller containers from a Chinese restaurant before, their portions are tiny. My beef and broccoli came in a tiny little child size bowl and cost $12. They forgot utensils and the extra rice they promised. This restaurant is a total scam, buyer beware. read more

I ordered this. 2 soups. Veggie low mei.man. General chicken. Veggie chicken. The general chicken was so bad. They didn't know what bad was. I took it back only and they said that I was a liar. Take into consideration I did not take any of the other food bank because it was ok. They are good with me until they push me out the door. I can eat rotten chicken at home. I will never eat there again and I would not advise anyone that considers their health to be healthy to eat there because they are rotten oriented. Oh please do not waste your time or money. After a long day I attempted to find something to pick up for dinner. I read the reviews and thought this would be a great meal. It was not good, not even a little. Spring rolls had odd taste and larger sized brown something in one of them. Crab Rangoon while I realize there is no real crab in it and do not expect there to be. However trying one by its self it simply tasted like sweetened cream cheese, not a bad flavor, however with the sauce, it is far too sweet. Sesame chicken was the most disappointing. The broccoli is old, yell and soggy. The chicken has old tasted and this dish Is Intended to be spicy. This was not. My addition of soy sauce and cayenne did nothing to take away the old on the verge of spoiling chicken. Sadly ALL of this meal was trashed. Will never go back. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I was looking for a different Chinese restaurant to order from because the last place I tried wasn't very good. I stumbled upon this place online and saw that they had some Thai options as well, so I was sold. I ordered delivery and it arrived in about 30 minutes, which is a decent time. I ordered a Spring Roll, Shrimp Fried Rice, Mango Shrimp, and Pad Thai. The spring roll was one of the best I've had. I wished I had ordered more than one. The shrimp fried rice could have used a bit more shrimp and veggies but otherwise had good flavor. The Pad Thai was absolutely delicious. It had a little bit of spice to it which went really well with the citrus flavor. Next time I am going to order the large size. The mango shrimp is not something I would order again. They give you a lot of mango, which is great, I just wasn't a fan of the sauce they used on it. I expected a slightly spicy sauce or a more savory sauce to balance with the mango, but instead it was a creamy/buttery sauce. There was no description of the item on the menu to let you know ahead of time what would be in it, so I would say that's the only downside. Worst Chinese food ever! This is what I Ordered 1- general Tsos combo W wonton soup 1-curry shrimp combo platter 2- steamed dumplings 1- large house fried rice 6- extra pork egg rolls 4-shrimp egg rolls This is what I received 2- steamed dumplings which has Brillo pad wire inside it 1- shrimp combo which we thought was curry shrimp but had no flavor and Brillo pad wire in it The wonton soup received had Brillo pad in it And didn't receive correct egg rolls at all Egg rolls received were cold and not shrimp nor pork egg rolls 1- general tsos platter that had Brillo pad wire in it. Someone needs to learn how to clean because this is dangerous and unacceptable! So from this point on I'll order from China 88 that's better quality and better service then this place. Never been unhappy with a meal. We get takeout a few times a month and the food is consistently good. I like their Thai options and they even have a steamed meal that's pretty low in calories is that's your choice. Feeding a family of 4 for $30 is tough these days, but ChopStix comes through and offers up a decent meal. read more

Good food, and I was super happy to see they WERENT using the dining room yet! In fact, they have a plastic box where they place the food for you. I ordered on an app so it was already paid. Shrimp & broccoli and shrimp chow brain had plenty of shrimp , moo goo gai pan was more than my husband could eat. When my husband and I arrived at this place, we saw that they had a table set up for a birthday party and we weren't sure if there would be space for us to sit and eat, but there definitely was. They brought our food to our table along with everything we might need (I.e., napkins, forks, sauce). The food was great! Definitely loved the crab Rangoon as well. But I think my absolute favorite part of our experience was that the birthday party was for the son of what I believe were the owners. They repeatedly invited us over to have some of the food and when we didn't get up, they brought at least two plates of food over. Such a beautiful and friendly family. read more

I called to place an order for delivery...the guy asked for my number - placed order was told it would be 10-15 mins. After not getting our food for 30 min. my husband called and gave the same number I ordered from and they said they didn't have an order. I called back and told the guy what I ordered..he said someone came in and got our order. I asked to speak to the owner or manager...I was told neither were there..I ask when and the guy got snotty with me. He told me his name was "Jack". I told him to never mind and we were never ordering again. This was the 2nd time they screwed up. Last time our order took an hour and 1/2 to get us food (we live less than 5 miles from the restaurant). We then received a call from "Jack" saying they found our order and said they would take 15% off. I said I wanted it free after all the problems...he agreed, then said he would send it and take 15% off...I said forget it. Keep on driving (right by this place). Food was so salty that it burned my mouth. Hot and sour soup had something sweet in it that did not belong in there. I have yet to find great (or even really good) Chinese food in Hagerstown but this is not a possible substitution. read more

Friendly service but not the best food. Shrimp rolls were crunchy but not much filling. Chicken with mixed vegs was okay but not a lot of flavor. Lo mein was salty with not many shrimp. Let me first say that I dislike 99% of all asian food. My husband is Cambodian and eats every asian food under the sun. He has made me try them all. Personally I just never think anything is that great until Chop Sticks. This was the first time in 10 years I enjoyed the food and was beyond impressed. Tucked away in a strip mall theres nothing too fancy about this place. My husband has been trying to drag me here for months. We finally went. The lady working was super friendly and the place was spotless. We ordered the lunch specials and while we were waiting she brought us our egg rolls fresh and hot while the rest of the food cooked. Normally I am repulsed by egg rolls, the cabbage ugh, however these were delicious! Then came the food. I ordered the general tso's chicken with fried rice. Apparently in all my years I haven't had "fresh" fried rice. Usually it is yellow and crispy, and grossly over oiled. This fried rice was amazing. I normally don't even eat plain rice. lol. It was hot, and lightly flavored, the perfect combo. The general tso's chicken however was the highlight. It was amazing, hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. So I ordered the seafood Delight which was supposed to come with lobster scallops crab meat and shrimps and I am I ordered it was $12.95 when I got my order it was horrible there was no Lobster they use the fake crab meat and it was terrible so I call the place and I ask what happened we don't have any Lobster and we don't have any crab meat so I said why would you post that as part of the menu and description on you don't carry it we meant to change it you meant to correct it but we didn't have time so it's I feel like it's like bait and switch you bait me to spend almost $13 and then you didn't have it it was horrible I threw it out and then they have this dish called salt and pepper fish I don't know where to fish is all I got was a whole lot of breading they said it was Whitefish you couldn't even see the fish that was another horrible dish I wouldn't order again the best thing I ordered from there in the past was the coconut shrimp that was basically it I don't think I would order again because I don't like the idea of you putting something on the menu and I'm paying you my hard-earned money and then you don't have it and you don't reimburse me or even try to make good on it so that's my review read more
