Well the stuff they have on the menu they didn't have to order. They answered the phone rudely.

Terrible experience at this place tonight! Ordered over the phone and they gave us a wrong item so we called back and they told us to come get the right item. After driving all the way back to the restaurant, they then say we have to go home again and bring the wrong item back. What??? They never said that on the phone. Why would you want food back somebody dug through??? Three trips to fix your mistake??? We returned again and demanded a refund for the balance of the order. They have elementary age children taking orders and running the cash register and wonder why mistakes are made. And I promise you they served that returned food to the next customer so proceed with CAUTION! read more

First of all they charged $3 delivery for a $30 order. Then plus tip and extra charges.... not worth it. Any change you want is .50 added (doesn't matter if large or small order). Add mushrooms.50, add anything .50. Almost $10 in non entree items. The egg rolls were good. Wonton soup fairly tasteless, but they have the thick skin wontons which I prefer. The filling in the wontons not good. We ordered lo mein and it smelled so bad we couldn't eat it. The mushrooms they use must be rehydrated and they are awful. We ordered general tsos chicken, fried rice and shrimp lo mein. The general tsos chicken was dark brown with no sauce and the sauce that was there was brown and coagulated. I tried a piece and it was not even close to how general tsos should taste. Husband and I threw away our meal. The fried rice needed more time to fry. The onion was so raw it overwhelmed any flavor if there was any. Lo mein was also very dry but one of the better dishes we received. We ultimately threw away all the food in case we would get sick. Husband is going to McDonald's for a better dinner for the family. Would recommend to an enemy. read more

My friend and I tried this place for dinner. I got the General Tso's chicken combo, which comes with fried rice and an egg roll. My friend got the wonton soup and an order of spring rolls. Together we shared the steamed dumplings and the sugar donuts. The rice was decent, the dumplings good, and the donuts were incredible! And, the prices for the dumplings and the donuts were very reasonable! Sadly, the chicken was mainly breading and very chewy. The sauce was more along the lines of sweet and sour. My friend said the soup had a strange taste that she couldn't quite place. We both agreed the rolls had the same flavor. I suggest that you come in for yourself and try them out. Luncheon menu is $4. 75 and includes entree and white/fried rice. No egg roll or spring roll, so that keeps the price down. Served on a china plate, hot, within 3 minutes of ordering. Wife had shrimp and chili sauce, and I had shrimp with broccoli. Both were tasty and full of shrimp. They had a luncheon buffet for $5.25 that had peeling shrimp on ice, and a few soups and about a dozen entrees if you like buffet. Certainly no comparison to Hibachi buffet--that's the place for variety. But this place is tops for a cooked to order meal. Restaurant seems clean and bright. Road Trip Dinner #1 - Hagerstown, MD My parents insisted that we eat Chinese almost every day of our trip, so here's our first Chinese meal on the road. It was getting late. We had just checked into the hotel and were looking for something to eat after our long road trip (nearly 300 miles of driving from NYC, with stops at Bethlehem and Harrisburg in PA). We were still quite full after a late lunch at the Goosey Gander Deli in Bethlehem (both parents loved the deli), so we were only looking for something light. My mother, in particular, was looking for cooked vegetables. Perhaps because of my parents' ability to speak Mandarin to the restaurant's Fujianese owners, we were able to order items not quite on the menu. My mother, in particular, was able to order a mixed cooked vegetable dish that didn't consist only of the normal vegetables you'd see on a Chinese take-out menu (broccoli, snow peas, etc.)* She wanted leafier vegetables, and the owners were able to accommodate. I don't remember what my father had ordered (I think it was some sort of seafood-based dish). Both dishes were cooked with little grease but were still tasty enough to satisfy my parents' discerning palate. A nice meal to have after a long day of traveling. I ordered something called "salt and pepper chicken" from the restaurant specials menu. At Cantonese restaurants, one of my favorite dishes is "salt and pepper pork chops", which consists of several fried and breaded pork chops garnished with chopped green onions and chili peppers. This was essentially the same dish, only with a generous portion of chopped boneless chicken in place of pork chops. Lightly fried, well seasoned, and with a peppery flavor, this dish was well received by both my parents and I. All in all, we had a good experience at this restaurant. * I think it consisted of a lightly sauteed or boiled napa cabbage, onions, and other leafy vegetables that I can't remember now. read more

The shrimp with sno peas was very good as always. Don't get the shrimp fried rice. It had very little flavor, seemed dry and the shrimp were very dry and almost like they had been reconstituted, kind of soft. It used to be very good, not sure what changed. read more

Food was so hot we had to let it cool for 10 minutes to take a bite . Chicken chow mein was very yummy and big gigantic portion !!! General tso's was very good as well, not too spicy just perfect. I placed an order today, online, and my total was $18.01. When they delivered, I was told I owed $24.01. I showed my email receipt, and was told I had to pay what management said. The driver called the restaurant and I spoke to the manager. I was told that the price I was given was their lunch price, even though their online menu stated differently. I refused to pay the difference and just walked back inside my home. This restaurant is continuing to decline, with the changes in their food, prices, and management. I always come here for Chinese food since the days of Borders. Over the years, it has slightly declined, but the food is still good over everything else. When you walk in, it's quite a dingy place. The buffet unit is overrun with a coffee maker and things you'd normally find in an employee break room. Storage must be an issue because their break room is by the buffet unit, which I'm not even sure is used or offered. Sometimes the dirty dishes are stacked so high in the bin on the trash can, it's impossible to ignore. Especially as the girl behind the counter sits on her cell phone doing nothing. Which is my next problem. The cashier is extremely rude, short, and unappreciative of your business. No fortune cookie with your takeout meal either. So I really wonder, is the food that good to go through all of this nastiness? read more

Lunch Buffet is very limited and is only 11am to 2pm. Restaurant is very dirty, they didn't even have clean plates or forks and had to resort to styrofoam plates & plastic forks. Soy sauce bottles were disgusting. Food was nearly cold, dried out and egg drop soups & soy sauce was watered down. Lunch buffet selection went way downhill. Worst dining experience ever. This used to b the only Chinese place in Hagerstown that had Mandarin Chicken. Now, they've never heard of the dish! Against our better judgement, we decided to try the buffet. Minimal selection and as we started to eat, our food was practically cold. We complained to the guy running the place, who pointed to a microwave at the end of the buffet and suggested we heat up our food there if it wasn't hot enough! We've lived in Hagerstown for about 6 years now and have finally broken down and tried dining at this restaurant(China 88 in Williamsport MD has been our "go-to" Chinese restaurant-AMAZING). For our first experience, we definitely give them a thumbs down. Here's what we're not satisfied with: It was about 12:30PM when we walked in for lunch(prime time for busy shoppers to grab a bite to eat), there wasn't any fresh food on the buffet. As you're given your cup to grab a drink from the soda machine, you'll notice there are straws/lids placed in plastic carry-out containers....not a big big deal, but as a restaurant, the set up does matter. As far as the cleanliness, HORRIBLE. We sat at a table near the window and there was filth under the table, in the corners of the base of the walls, and boxes piled up in another corner. Along with the grease marks on the chairs, you'll also see an abundance of rust on the bottoms of all the chairs and base of the tables. It almost looks like dried mud. Of course we noticed all of these flaws after paying and sitting down at a table, but if it wasn't for time, we would've just left. I couldn't enjoy my $5 & change while thinking about how dirty the atmosphere was. I guess it's true, you do get what you pay for. Unfortunately for them, I would never recommend this place to anyone, even if you're in a rush to go in and leave or have that itch for good Chinese food. read more
