We came here for dinner after not being able to find parking for the Shipyards Christmas Market. It's a tiny spot and there happened to be a group of men dressed up in Christmas themed costumes doing a bar-hop on their scooters (lol) - seemed like a fun crew but they were so loud it was a bit hard to have a conversation. We both had the Chop and Chew platter and I went for the Sake Chicken sausage plus the bratwurst. The sake chicken sausage was much more flavourful than the bratwurst so I preferred that more. There was a generous helping of coleslaw but it was a bit bland for me. The mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy. It was an alright visit but nothing extraordinary. Chop & Chew gets 5 stars, but our server and the overall experience made it a 6-star experience at this place. A group of us dropped in after a corporate event, because we had heard there was good poutine here. The 5 of us had a great time sharing appetizers and a tower of beer. The poutine was good. The ribs were even better. SO GREAT! The charcuterie plate was good The Mac and cheese was excellent The mushroom wings were okay. One of my colleagues had the burger, and inhaled it...so it must have been great. The beer from Black Kettle was delicious. Talking with the waiter and cook made the experience even better. Our waiter even went the extra mile to write down a list of other places that we might want to try while visiting Vancouver. Really enjoyed this spot! They had seating both inside and outside, which I thought was great! The service was excellent and the staff were so friendly. I ordered the sausage-style burger with fries. So tasty. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu. read more

Stopped in for lunch on Saturday afternoon, told about their sausages and rotating special. I ordered the platter and chose the chicken and brat. Both super flavourful and tasty. The chicken although not my favorite due to the texture was super moist and tasty. Just my personal preference on the texture. The brat was lovely, so tasty as well. I can't really describe the flavors but the seasoning of the links are superb and I actually want another brat thinking about it right now. My wife ordered the burger but as she's allergic to beef they were able to accommodate her by replacing the patty with one of their pork based sausages. I had a bite and it was also delicious. Their fries are fried perfectly and have a lovely crunch. The dipping sauce was also very nice. My poutine was full of melted cheese and enough gravy to absorb into most of the fries. It was heavy as I couldn't finish it and had to pack it home. Overall I definitely recommend the sausages they are super delicious! read more

Intimate and friendly little restaurant. Everything is done with care. We chatted with the server/bartender and cooks. Their claim to fame are the sausages, which comes from Oyama. I got the "chop and chew platter" which is your choice of 2 sausages with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. I chose Guinness beef and chorizo verde, there was also a chicken apple and more. We ordered the "trash can nachos" which are only served Fri/sat, and they're massive! We added pulled pork to it - which they get from Two Rivers, a great butcher shop in North Van. We ended up taking some food home in the end. There's a full bar with cocktail selections, canned and draft beer. There is also a small patio in front, as well as a much larger roadside patio. Staff are friendly. Family run place. Mushroom wings - surprisingly tasty. Battered mushrooms with sauce. Nice chunks. Good for sharing. Chop & Chew platter - 2 bratwurst, and 2 sides. I tried the coleslaw and mashed potatoes. Everything was tasty. Served with a dish of dijon mustard. The sausages here are so good!! Everything here is pretty simple but soo delicious! It's no wonder they have such an amazing rating on Google. We visited on a Sunday evening and the place was mostly full. The space is quite small so I'm sure it fills up fast during busy times. They were also out of several items already which was slightly disappointing but there were still plenty of great options to choose from. We ordered the platter and a mac and cheese, both of which came in a very generous portion and were beyond our expectations. The staff was also very friendly and we felt very welcome :) read more

Extremely great service. They were very communicative and friendly. The wait was not long. We ordered poutine and nachos. Had we known how big the nachos would he we would have ordered the fried mushrooms instead. We got our order to go. When we opened everything there were two gigantic containers of nachos that could have fed 8 people easily. We felt really bad not being able to eat it all. The food was exceedingly tasty and fresh. They kindly put all the liquid things separate so they would make the fries and chips soggy on the way home. It couldn't have been any more perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

I don't have much to complain about here; we visited with our out of town relatives and found Chop and Chew from its outstanding reviews online. The sky was overcast so the patio was completely empty, but the sole server was happy to sit us with our big dog and was friendly and accommodating. Inside, TVs were showing some hockey games, and as our meal went on, a few groups came and enjoyed beer towers while taking in the game. The food options all felt like home cooking, our group tried charcuterie, mac and cheese, potato leek soup and the chicken schnitzel. All were cooked well and flavourful. I would love to come back and try a few of their other options as they all appealed. The selection of beers and wines would be great for a day of summer drinking too! read more

well...we have seen this place many times so we thought we would try it...for delivery....my wife wanted bratwurst but when you order on line although they say they have four kinds you can pick from a choice of 3...chicken...vegan...and beef.We settled on the chicken with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. guess that was our mistake.The chicken sausage was so salty we couldn't eat it the potatoes im sure where made from potato flakes...it sure wasn't actual potato....the coleslaw was even worse bland just plain cabbage and what tasted like a no name coleslaw dressing....to bad i could teach them....better being a former restaurant owner that was my first time and my read more
