After looking around, the first ones that caught my eye were Kick Ass Cupcakes. Even though it was only a couple of days before the party, I figured it couldn't hurt to ask. The worst he could say was no! Not only did Scott say yes, but he made it happen. He created two dozen beautiful cupcakes in four incredible flavors: Orange Creamsicle, Strawberry Lemonade, Shirley Temple, and Lemon. They were absolutely delicious and a huge hit with both the kids and adults. The cupcakes tasted just as amazing as they looked. Megan responded in email within 2 days as expected. Her payment instructions were very clear, and we agreed to meet at their designated community park at 10am on Sunday. (They would also do delivery with an additional cost.) An hour before our meeting time, she sent a text with the make/model/color of their car, as well as, some dessert care instructions. They arrived on time. The cake was carefully packaged and included a "Happy Birthday" paper topper. The cake was really good. It was fresh and airy; the black sesame taste really stood out; the blueberry jam was delicious and not too sweet; the hojicha fresh cream was light and flavorful. While we all really enjoyed the cake, it's very pricey, and it's a 20-min drive from home to pick it up at one of the two time choices.

The canvas is a creamy white frosting, the base wrapped with flowing grass icing and white and yellow flower fondant. A classic whimsical Winnie and Piglet are nestled in the grass. As you make your way to the top of the cake, there's a "Hunny" jar with overflowing honey icing spilling over the side, and little fondant bees enjoying the bountiful honey. Perched at the top next to the honey jar is a chocolate yellow honeycomb, a perfect touch to this artful cake. The cake was an absolute hit with guests, and a perfect centerpiece. Then it came time to cut the cake... which felt so wrong but also so so right. The cake cut smoothly and was impeccably moist. Inside was a chocolate cake with a chocolate mousse filling. It was as lovely and delicious on the inside as it appeared on the outside. Infinity out of 10, can't recommend Marvel Cake enough! They found our pre-ordered cake and they did a wonderful job decorating with a cute pumpkin on the top. We also chose an apricot danish, a maple bar and a raisin snail. On September 4, 2026, I ordered and paid for my mother's 96th birthday cake--a burnt almond cake--a day in advance. When I arrived to pick it up, the line was very long, and the wait took far too long. Unfortunately, the cake itself was unbelievably dry and crumbled with every bite. After recommending Peter's Bakery to family and friends for many years, I was embarrassed to serve this cake. Sadly, it took away from a very special birthday celebration. I hope Peter's Bakery improves both its customer service and the quality of its cakes.
