The whoopee pies top notch, all the flavor looked amazing and the ones I tried so good. The hibiscus Ice tea amazing. The counter people could be more helpful for people that have never been there before. (It was not busy) its a cool coffee/bakery the decor and vibe very chill.

The whoopie pies are good but you have to try their pound cakes. The lemon pound cake is to die for.

I just sat outside in the cold all day. I came here, got coffee fast, stayed warm, and enjoyed the absolute best baked goods in Newburyport.

We ordered food and two lattes around noon. One of the sandwiches came out in ten minutes. Another fifteen minutes went by with no other items from the order. Everyone who ordered after us received their coffees or food. When I asked one of the employees about it, she shrugged and said "sorry" and proceeded to turn her back to me in order to organize scones and remaining pastries. She then took an order for two americanos and made them immediately. At this point, I felt pretty offended and had been waiting about 30 minutes for two lattes and an açaí bowl (again, the BLT had come out in 10 minutes after the order was placed). I told the present employees that this behavior (the rudeness etc) sucked and asked for the rest of the order to be refunded. The staff had to get an older man from the back who was either the owner or the manager. He did refund the forgotten items from the order and told me lunch is a difficult time to come to Changing Tides as they don't handle orders well in the middle of the day. This experience made me really sad. I loved this place and I will not be returning.

So much smeerrr!!…read more Stopped by for some bagels and they had a variety of fresh bagels to choose from except and everything bagel. You can order you bagel roasted with any of their specialty cream cheeses. I got their Lox cream cheese with a marble rye bagel. The bagels are a good size and they were not stingy with the cream cheese! It was loaded! The cream cheese was very creamy and smooth! There is not much seating so we ordered our bagels to go. The workers were very nice and worked very fast. The shop also offered coffee and cold drinks to go and they also had some goodies to buy such as coffee beans,/T-shirts. This place is super cute and cozy and perfect for a quick yummy lunch.

That's a huge plus and easy to miss if you're just skimming reviews. Now onto mine. Counter service with self serve coffee and tea. Good selection of bagels (they have rosemary, which not everyone has) and spreads (they have whitefish salad, which not everyone has), plus breakfast sandwiches and more ambitious lunch sandwiches. I found the service excellent, the pricing more than fair, and the bagels pretty good. Even though they're not cracking my greater Boston top 5 or my New England top 10, the bagels have a nice texture to them: chewy, but a lighter brand of chewy, kinda like a biscuit. That texture grows on you as you try more of them. The pumpernickel bagel was a little light on flavor but the onion bagel made up for it. The rosemary salt bagel was much heavier on the salt than the rosemary, but still good. I'd go back.

Horrible disgusting experience. I hate to leave a bad review but this was awful. The person running…read morethe register made me feel like I was bothering her by just ordering, no customer service, she seemed completely disconnected. That's not the worst part of the experience. After I ordered I waited as my sandwich and other customers orders were being prepared in front of us. I watched in disgust as flies were crawling all over their open containers of cream cheese, jams, and other sandwich ingredients. I was then shocked as a fly landed on a customers sandwich and neither the two people preparing the food, the cashier, or the manager seemed to even try to shoo the flies away. Finally I saw a fly land in my sandwich, again no reaction from either of the cooks, they continued to prepare the ingredients as the fly was in my food. There were about 5-10 flies buzzing around all over the entire duration I was there. They gave me my food, I took it, and immediately tossed it when I got home. I will not be coming back here and I suggest anyone going keep a keen eye on the environment their food is being prepared in. It's a shame because their product looks good, but the sanitary conditions are shockingly poor.
