I have my own skincare regimen, but I was always curious about the shop and finally went in. The customer service is excellent! The ladies there were helpful and didn't push selling me on things I didn't need. I left with some nice additions to the products I always use. The space is clean and I will definitely be back. read more

Not a lot of options here and although the people who work here are very nice, I don't believe they are knowledgeable about the products. The window to return is also very short read more

This is my favorite skincare store! There are so many great products here and i love coming in to look around and see what new things I can find! read more

I was excited when I first shopped here, and it's nice to be able to purchase something immediately when you want it. Now that I am more privy, I cannot believe I ever spent my money here, and I will never shop at this store EVER again. The customer service is great, and they have an amazing selection of goods, don't get me wrong. The issue is that they are OUTRAGEOUSLY overpriced. Most of the items they sell are marked up EVEN HIGHER than the product manufacturer's own prices! You will easily spend over $100 on a small handful of things that you could purchase for much fairer prices elsewhere. A lot of these manufacturers have official TikTok shops that are cheaper than this place. If you're worried about authenticity, there are Korean cosmetic marketplace websites/apps like Style Korean, Olive Young Global, and Stylevana just to name a few who ship 100% authentic brand items directly from Korea. Listen, if you plan on spending $100 anyway and don't need something right away, I strongly urge you to look into the online Korean marketplaces before wasting your money here. If you spend over a certain amount (usually $60) they ship for free, and I have never had to wait more than a week for a package. Not only will you get a fair price for authentic items, most of these marketplaces also have point systems. They reward points for writing reviews and for every dollar spent. These points accumulate into dollar amounts that you can use for future purchases. The most I ever got from Choc Choc was a birthday coupon that I couldn't even use on their website. Trust me, when you do the math, you won't regret shopping with the online Korean marketplaces like you will here. I'll give Choc Choc one star for the amazing customer service, but their price point demolishes the whole experience. read more

Great selection!!! I got a rice skin pad set and some masks, the staff were so helpful and kind.

So happy to have a brick and mortar k beauty shop around because I'm trying to buy things from less problematic retailers. It didn't have everything I would've wanted but it's well stocked with good brands and the curated selection should be really helpful for newbies to k beauty so they don't get too overwhelmed. We'll definitely be back. read more

The shop is organized well especially for those new to Korean beauty. Basic skincare routine labels are on the walls with corresponding products underneath. However, it's underwhelming in terms of the selection and is more expensive than online. The staff is friendly but not as knowledgeable about products as would be expected. I would visit again if I needed something immediately otherwise I would wait to get something from yesstyle or stylevana. read more

Great service - had a wonderful talk about when to use various skincare for face. They are both in quality and proper use of products. All great Korean & other products, and reasonable vs other brands. Worth a stop by! read more

good selection of products! Staff was very nice and helpful. Loves how all the products are displayed by step. Definitely coming back

Love the atmosphere of the store and that they have testers. Great customer service & very clean.

Great collection of Korean skincare products, face masks, and make-up. Their prices are reasonable and not marked up from online prices. If there's ever been a lip tint or lip stick you've been wanting to try before buying, this is definitely the place. All the workers were super friendly and helpful if you have any questions or are looking for any recommendations. I bought some sunscreen sticks as gifts and a few lip tints from here. I will definitely be back to get other products here in the future! read more

I needed a gift for my mom and this was the perfect place! Between the staff, environment, and products, I found the perfect bundle of gifts. It was my first time coming here yesterday, and one of the ladies immediately greeted me and helped me which I appreciate. I purposefully seek out Korean products as their skincare regimen is top notch, and I strive for that glowing skin. I am low on a Korean brand sunscreen, and I recently had an issues with what I bought on Amazon, so I figured I'd go to a Korean beauty store and found Choc Choc. She guaranteed that the products come straight from Korea, and she also recommended a new sunscreen product for me to try based on what I like. It's a Korean branded sunscreen with hyaluronic acid which is interesting, and I figured I'd try it since my skin typically reacts really well with hyaluronic acid especially when getting facials. She also suggested a new way to blend the product in which I appreciate. I was given the opportunity to sample the product as well, and while the retail price is way more than Amazon, I find comfort in knowing that their product is legit, that their staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I'm excited to come again in the future, and I'd recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for Korean skincare products. read more

Great skincare spot in Lakeview. They carry Dr. Jart face masks and some good eye patches as well.

They have the best Korean skin are and makeup selection you'll find in the Chicagoland area. Everyone who works there is very nice and very helpful. Super chill vibe I love coming here to browse and get my essentials. read more

Rosa J. doesn't have a skincare regimen, yet she prefers products from Asian cosmetic companies because those work better than the ones from typical cosmetic lines at a department store. Back in 2004, Mom bought the clay mask from one of the shopping channels in Taiwan. The clay was sourced from a specific region in Korea. Oh man, that was probably the best thing I've ever used in my life! Then there were many inexpensive Korean cosmetic companies branched out to foreign countries, such as "Skin Food" and "Face Shop." With famous Hallyu stars as celebrity endorsements to promote these affordable luxuries, those companies have been doing quite well. "Choc Choc Cosmetic" is pretty new to the neighborhood. It's a tiny boutique shop that carries Korean makeups and skincare products. Since I ran out of the facial cleanser at home that I normally purchased at T.J. Maxx or Marshall's, I decided to check out what this store had to offer. I was assisted by Alexa, who was sweet and friendly. She provided me her recommendations on a few foam cleansers. She especially gave a high praise on the "SRB stabilized rice bran enzyme powder wash," priced at $25. Ummm...don't you think it was a bit much for a bottle of facial wash? In the end I picked out the Snail Repairing Foam Cleanser ($9.99) instead, for the texture and smell were similar to Shiseido Pureness. I also grabbed a couple of "Holika Holika" moisturizing masks. I thought the prices were alright. If you look hard enough, you can probably find better prices on eBay or Amazon. However, I would like to support local businesses in the city whenever I can. Alexa did throw in the SRB rice bran powder wash sample along with my purchases. I tried it as soon as I got home. It was way better than what I anticipated this product to be like. The powder was gentle to the pores, and this product received many positive reviews online as well. I'm definitely going back there to explore more products, make myself a guinea pig, and experiment products that will eventually work out the best for my skin. read more

I moved from Chicago to California, but thankfully can still shop at Choc Choc through their online store. Their very own product, Rice Power Essence, is now a staple in my day/night skincare routine. Also, I recently had to dump all my Lancome, La Mer, SK-II, etc. in order to only use clean, paraben/preservative free products, and this fits perfectly for that. I love it so much! I highly recommend this store, and this particular product. read more

OMG OMG OMG! Everything I like. I was buying Korean skincare and K-beauty from a website, but this place . . . INSTANT GRATIFICATION. My wife wanted to check out this new cosmetic store, so we we made the trek out from the burbs today. This is a very cute, boutique cosmetic store specializing in Korean skin care products that you can't find at mainstream American cosmetic stores. Very cute layout, unique and cute products that make you want to buy too many things simply for the aesthetics of the packaging (see pics). Leah, the store manager was very helpful with explaining the various products to my wife and was very friendly and helpful throughout our whole visit. I even got a free coffee while I roamed around the store. Very excellent customer service. My wife left very happy with her purchases and our experience there. We would definitely come back and recommend this to others seeking unique skin care products. read more

I love this store since I'm a huge fan of Korean sheet masks. I usually like to browse and see what varieties are available. We passed by here on the way to Chicago Diner, so I knew I had to stop in and see what other brands or products are available. To preface, I've got dry skin so I'm always looking for sheet masks or products that moisturize my skin. I bought two Berrisom sheet masks that have the animal faces. My husband likes to make fun of me each time I wear a regular sheet mask, so the animal ones are entertaining. As for how they work, I thought they were just ok. I also purchased a klairs brand sheet mask since it was only $2. The prices here are pretty fair and the salesperson who helped me (forgot her name!) was really helpful with product recommendations. The great thing is that Choc Choc has a website, so I can go there to browse or purchase products directly. Love this store and how it's organized! read more

I live in Massachusetts and every time I visit my sister in Chicago, I can't wait to come here. I am a product junkie and my wallet reflects that. The first time I came, I was shocked by the prices. It seems most K beauty is affordable, (except Amore Pacific, love that brand too). It's funny that I was surprised, me being half Korean and born in Seoul, Korea. The store is set up with their products out on clean white tables, each with an open bottle/jar in front with a scooper for sanitation to sample every product they carry, even the face washes. I bought around a hundred dollars worth of skin care: essence, toner (beauty water) eye cream, Claire's vitamin C serum, a handful of sheet masks, eye masks and cotton squares. 2 months later I'm at home getting my hair done and I'm looking in the mirror with no makeup and was happily surprised on how even and bright my skin tone was. I was hooked since and come back to the store whenever I visit. Yes, I can buy online, but here you get the service and ambiance of an intimate k-beauty boutique. read more

I'm so excited to have found such a gem so close to home! It's primarily a skincare boutique with products laid out by steps of the 10 step Korean skincare routine. They've got a pretty good assortment of products I've seen mentioned by Korean beauty Youtubers, and the prices are so reasonable! They had a December promo going on, where if you spent $100+, you got three additional face masks. There was a separate promotion where if you bought one of their best selling essences, you got two additional. I walked out if there with 5 extra sheet masks! SUCH a treat. The young lady who helped me out today was so patient and personable. I told her what was missing from my routine and she shared some of her personal favorites (I was eager to try them myself because her skin looked amazing). Just did the ten step routine for the first time and my husband agrees my skin is already looking so much more supple and clear. THANK YOU FOR EXISTING! I don't have to travel all the way to the northern suburbs to find the goods! read more

I have been been wanting to check out this lovely little store for quite some time. K-beauty and skincare products rarely irritate my normally sensitive skin, but sometimes a lady doesn't feel like paying for shipping or waiting 3-7 days for the package to arrive. Enter Choc Choc Cosmetics. I stopped in this evening after work. What a treat! I was greeted into the bright and clean space by the friendly staff. Every kind of product and brand you can think of is laid out neatly in front of you. Sheet masks, lotions, cosmetics, and serums for days! There are testers so you can feel texture or scent before you buy. Check out their website if you want to take a peek at price before you go, but everything is reasonable. Who can say no to spending a few bucks for a little treat yo self sheet mask? And if you're overwhelmed or just don't know where to start, the staff is right there to help you. They directed me to a pore care set and explained how to use the products. This store is such a gem, and I'm really looking forward to returning soon. read more

Love this place! Choc Choc is a little cute store where you can get popular and trendy K-beauty makeup and skincare products for all skin types. I was SO excited to find this place! I only got into K beauty somewhat recently and buy most items online, but when I found this place I couldn't wait to support a local business. I've checked out pretty much every Korean skincare joint in Chicago that've come across. And still looking for the "Promise Land" or a replacement for the HMart in Niles. Choc is nice and quaint with a few recognizable products. VERY happy to be able to know of place that sells Missha First Essence and it's night serum, which are two mainstays in my routine. No more waiting on an order direct from the company. Not crazy about customer service here. It was the typical shopping while black experience. The owner was polite, answered questions but never followed thru with any sell pitch to upsell me (and I was prepared to drop some $$$ but spent a smaller amount because of her lack of engagement) but chatty cathy with a yuppie mom (and damn near sold the store to her) who only bought a few things under $50. I'll keep this place in mind for emergencies but will keep going to HMart. read more

I updated my skin care routine with the Red Serum and the COSRX Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power essence because I have rosacea and they have done wonders for my skin. I also bought the Tony Moly BCDation cushion and so far I'm loving it.
