We've been to the Bee Cave area for years 1st time to this place. This place was a pleasant surprise beautiful interior very classy. The service was prompt and courteous. The food was amazing!!! We started with a appetizer which was the shrimp it was like an explosion of flavor to the palette. I had the catfish with jalapeño grits my fiancé had the chicken dish both were tasty and done well . We will return to this place, look to my future reviews for other dishes to try .

    Texas Cobb salad with brisket

At first I was thinking burger. Then I saw this salad on the menu and thought about being a bit healthier. Then I thought about the ribs. Then back to burger. Then back to salad. (Probably changed my mind a few more times, but that summarizes it.) I'm in town for a training and here with a group of 8. The service was better than expected given some of the other reviews. I guess the menu here changes since many of the pictures didn't match the menu. I quite enjoyed my salad. Great amount of brisket. Fresh greens. Good amount of dressing that didn't overpower. Fried schallots and bacon mixed in was a nice touch. Everyone else's food looked good and they all says good things about their choices. Worth a stop if you are in Bee Cave.

This place was fine for a quick upscale lunch. Not sure it's worth the price, but I expected a higher cost by sticking close to shopping. We came in on a Friday around noon. When we first walked in it looked almost too nice to bring my five year old in (will she behave? Will we get dirty looks?) but once we were seated it actually didn't appear as fancy. I think maybe they spent most of their decorating budget around the front desk, because behind the bar it was much less imposing (though still nice and comfortable). Our server was friendly and attentive. My daughter's chicken strips were actually pretty good, with a nice seasoned breading. The fries and sweet potato tots were solid. I ordered the green chile burger and it was good, though too wet for my liking. I had hoped to save half for later but it was immediately soggy and I knew there was no way it would make it to the next day intact. Overall a nice place to charge up, but definitely overpriced for what it is.

The atmosphere was very nice, my table sat outside and enjoyed the cool nighttime weather, the food itself was just okay but for the hefty prices it's something to consider when going here. The service was excellent and we had no complaints.

I live in Fort Worth and visit my parents in the Lakeway/bee Cave area often and this is my favorite place to go to eat. It's pricey but I've never had anything there that wasn't worth the $$$. I've gone in for something as a simple as a drink and soup at the bar in the fall, spending time with myself and a book. To family dinners and friends lunches. I've tried the Ceviche, fried catfish, tortilla soup, pulled pork sandwich, the bacon glazed pork chop. Go for the bacon glazed pork chop! It's cooked perfectly, juicy, not dry, with a sticky caramelized flavor. The stone ground blue cornbread is definitely a table share and so sweet and fluffy. Will be back as always, thank y'all for the good food and good service.

5 stars without a doubt! I'd consider rating them higher if it was possible. When the food is this fresh with such a delicious flavor profile it will leave a lasting impression. Everything was presented well and cooked to perfection. The service was excellent as well and the food came out relatively fast! The atmosphere is wonderful and their patio is dog friendly. I found the pricing to be reasonable for the quality and quantity. I was a bit surprised by the choice of sauce for the fire cracker shrimp being a buffalo style sauce, but it still tasted great! This is a restaurant I'll happily come back to!

I was in the area with an 1 hr to kill before my appointment. I was craving a taco and found this restaurant on Yelp. Ironically, I ended up ordering a hamburger and fries. It just sounded good to me when I read the description. When the waitress brought out meal all I could say was "wow!" Substantial size and I *almost* finished it all. The fries were hot and seasoned perfectly. Service was great and attentive. Next time, I will try their tacos... maybe. The hamburger is just too good!

We wanted something in the area that was dog friendly and they had a small patio for that. We came around dinner time and I was a little disappointed that no one offered my dog water. The reason for minus a star. I was full from lunch still so I ordered an appetizer. It was okay. Not something I was in a rush to finish. However, the menu did have creative options that I don't see anywhere else, so kudos to them.

We had Nueces chicken with jalapeño grits and brisket salad and all was tasty ample with excellent service. We pretty much had the restaurant to ourselves at 5pm but service was the best. Great experience

    Texas fish with crab meat
    Alex Z.

Came to bee cave for dinner and this is a very nice Tex mex place with large and clean indoor seating and dog friendly patio. The food is very good at a reasonable price. The Texas red fish was in season so I tried that, it comes with a little crab meat on top in a chili sauce gives you some heat. The sweet potato is very crispy. Try their sampler for a starter while wait for your food. The service was good at the beginning but our waitress disappeared after 10mins and other waiter or waitress didn't care about our table at all. My water was empty for 30mins and no refill, and we finished our meals and no where to find our waitress to get bill, so in the end we found someone else to get the check after waited for at least 30mins.

    Blue Cornbread- Delicious
    Rolando N.

The food here is well prepared and simply delicious. The menu is an eclectic mix of southern comfort favorites with a distinct Southwest flair. Every dish was delicious. The Blue cornbread appetizer arrived warm and was divine. Fried catfish plate was delicious. They use a red chili tartar sauce that complimented the dish perfectly. The red fish was equally tasty. The Jalapeño cream sauce was not too spicy and really elevated the dish. Service was prompt, courteous and friendly.

Chicken fried chicken with the MOST amazing grits!

I could tell they were relatively new but that was only because I was sitting right where they were making the drinks. A server came in to give them a compliment about a drink they had made. The customer said they made it perfectly. (I don't know which drink it was) I ordered a glass of Sauvi B and the chicken and waffles. Honestly I was a bit underwhelmed by the presentation. Right off the bat, I noticed that the waffles were very thin. They would not hold up to the sauces and the chicken. I was right. The waffles basically fell apart. They needed to be much thicker waffles to complement the chicken. They chicken was great. The sauces were delicious. I wouldn't order it again. The waffles were disappointing. It was an expensive brunch for what it was. $56 with tip (2 glasses of wine) - the food was around 18.99. The decor is nice and the people were friendly. I'd try again but with a different item.

Upon her return, we ordered the chicken fried pork chop, fried pickles, burger and fish and chips. Everything was great and flavorful. The portions were large enough to leave you full and more. I will have to go back during happy hour to see what they have to offer, but also to try different items.

Our selections for the afternoon were the classic Eggs Benedict and the turkey avocado wrap--both arriving at the table beautifully composed and visually striking. Our server was exemplary, providing attentive and seamless service throughout the meal. However, the kitchen stumbled slightly on a fundamental execution. A proper Eggs Benedict relies on a perfectly poached egg, where a gentle slice yields a rich, velvety yolk that cascades over the ham and English muffin. Regrettably, one of my eggs crossed the line into hard-boiled territory, robbing the dish of that essential luxury. That single execution error aside, the meal was otherwise delightful. It was an unfortunate oversight, but certainly not enough to keep us from returning to a neighborhood favorite.

The indoor is very beautiful and smells like cinnamon and apple (a scent that I love), especially going towards the bathrooms. Theres a bar section with plenty of seating and the room inside the restaurant is overall very spacious. I didn't see much of the indoor as I decided to sit outside in the patio. Although being during the Texas summer, the patio has plenty of (very powerful) fans! The view of the green belt next to the restaurant is amazing, and there is also an outdoor bar, which gives impeccable vibes. We ordered two starters and had plenty of food! My husband ordered the Barbacoa Stackers (slow roasted barbacoa, refried black beans, Jack cheese, JAK slaw, Cotija cheese) I personally loved them! The meat was tasty and juicy, the black beans were perfectly cooked and everything was so rich in flavor. Definitely a 10/10! I ordered the Homemade Buttermilk Biscuit, served with honey & seasonal fruit flavored butter (with a side of yummy bacon) Today they had strawberry flavor, and there was even strawberry jam. I have to be honest, THE BEST biscuits I've ever had in my life! And I love me some good biscuits! They were buttery and crumbly to the right point! The strawberry butter with the strawberry jam was the perfect combo! We were told the biscuits are made fresh every morning, and I love that! It was definitely a 1000/10! We also got some chips and salsa. Chips are very crunchy, and the salsa is spicy to the right point! Now I'm building my tolerance with the spicy and this salsa was really yummy, and can build up the spice! The waiter who served it to us, brought it over in a small mason jar and emptied it in the little container for our table, which was something I've never seen done like this. Definitely appreciated it! Makes me think they make their own salsa (forgot to check on that!) They also gave us a complimentary pita bread with pimento, and it was delicious! The pita bread was very crunchy and salty to the right point! They even gifted me a portion of peach and strawberry cobbler, topped with ice cream, for my birthday and it was insane! The flavor was perfectly sweet and mixed with the ice cream was very refreshing and still warm and melting in my mouth! Probably one of the best cobblers I've ever had! And keep in mind, we got here that we weren't feeling super hungry, and yet we were able to appreciate every single bite cause it was so good!! Last but not least - Ali, our server, was incredible! She was so nice throughout the whole dining experience and made sure we had everything we needed. She was so kind to ask if I could add peach puree to my freshly squeezed lemonade (which is a 10/10), and even made sure I had plenty of strawberry butter for my biscuits. We definitely took some leftovers home and I can't wait to have the remaining biscuit in the morning!

The League Tavern is a gastropub…read more "Gastropub". That word is so 2010's. A decade ago calling yourself a "gastropub" was the coolest thing in the hospitality industry. Now, it is a lost artifact of another decade, along with Swedish House Mafia and Britney Spears. The League calls itself a retro reminder of the eating clubs of the 1920's and 1930's. It is pretty damm good as a gastropub. It would not really want to be an eating club of the Prohibition era. Menus in that era could be pretty awful. Mashed parsnips. Liver and onions. Greens that have been cooked to death. Tough steaks. Low quality lager beer. The Indian Puddings were all right. The fish was great if it was fresh. I wish they would bring back Welsh Rarebit. But the League sticks to a contemporary menu ... And I am glad they do. Their contemporary dishes are just great. I had a faro salad with grilled shrimp on top. The faro salad was everything I would want a grain salad to be. (I have had some awful tabboulehs and quinoa salads in my time.) The shrimp were completely lovely. Prices are high - but that is what comes with being a gastropub. The concept is: Pay more. Eat higher quality. The Lakeway market will certainly support the League in the prices it wants to charge. The selection on the menu - and for that matter the selection at the bar - is fairly restricted. Having a small menu is not a necessary correlate of being a gastropub. Some gastropubs offer you an expansive range of choices. But careful management of the menu choices means that each and every dish can be polished to a high degree of execution finesse. Practice makes perfect. My guess is that the League envisions itself as a neighborhood place - albeit a rich neighborhood place. Their customers are likely to be regulars. The regulars order their favorite dishes over and over. I myself like my bars and grills to be Cheaper, Funkier and With bigger selections on the menu and at the bar itself. So the League is not exactly my style. But what they do, they do well. They are expanding, opening more branches in more locations. They can do this because the League fills a real need in the Lakeway-Bee Cave market. If a Lakeway resident were to invite me to be their guest at the League Tavern, I would be happy to accept that invitation. Especially if they were picking up the check.

I told her "two" and she walked us to a 2-top where we'd be seated across from each other and dropped 2 menus onto the table and kept walking. I looked around for a 4-top since my daughter has special needs and I need to help her eat. I didn't see any in that dining area, so I looked around for the woman who I didn't see either. A waiter walked up to The table next to us and looked at me looking lost, and I said, "we need some help." He kind of stared at me for a second then turned around to his table. So I picked up the menus and silverware and walked into the next dining room where some folks were sitting and there were tables. One employee looked confused at what I was doing there and I explained my issue, at which point she told me that that area was closed and we couldn't sit there and there was nothing available. So the woman who disappeared re-appeared, reiterated that we couldn't sit there, and so I told her I guessed we could sit outside, even though it was 95 degrees. I left my daughter at the table and went inside to find someone and I swear there were 5 people standing there, including the waiter who turned away from me, just looking at me. No one asked what I needed or if they could help me. (I had decided to leave before I did this, but my daughter wanted to stay.) Finally a guy who clearly just arrived there asked what I needed and I told him we'd been sitting outside for a long time without any service, and at exactly that time someone finally walked up to our table. I told the new guy at the host stand that our experience was really sucking. The waiter who came was friendly but scarce, and we got the spoon I asked for so my daughter could manage her own rice once we had finished the meal. We then waited a very long time for our check and I had to explain to my daughter over and over that we couldn't leave til we paid the bill. When I did, I had the options of selecting a 20, 25 or 28 percent tip, which I found ludicrous given the absolute epic lack of service. I think it may be the worst I've ever had. Not sure about training and culture there, but it was an amazing example from start to finish of an entire staff who had perfected mediocrity and ambivalence.
